As a result of the increased level of uncertainty and variability of the socio-economic environment, the influence of various social pathologies (for example, the COVID-19 pandemic, etc.) has grown, that have significant negative consequences for the functioning of society. Modeling the most important factors and trends in social development will help to resist the impact of modern negative changes. From the analysis of the socio-economic development of the Republic of Uzbekistan, it is obvious that there exists the effect of all those factors and trends in social development that are positive and are primarily associated with STP (including the digitalization of society), as well as the effect of negative factors associated with various social pathologies. The strategy of development of the Uzbek economy is aimed at strengthening the former and limiting the latter.

In the context of the increased level of uncertainty and variability of the organizational and economic environment, the importance and influence of various kinds of pathologies of a social nature (for example, the COVID-19 pandemic, various color revolutions, etc.), which have significant negative consequences for the functioning of society and its most important structures, has increased. The use of the latest achievements of STP, such as comprehensive digitalization and modeling of the most important factors and trends in social development, can counteract the impact of modern negative challenges. The article analyzes and models some of the most important parameters of the functioning of the Uzbek economy, the results of which can be used in the development of a strategy for action in priority areas of development of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Thus, as a result of the conducted research, it became obvious that the factors of social development and the socio-economic trends that arise as a result of their action can be divided into two large groups: the first should include factors and trends of a negative nature associated with the action of various social pathologies; the second group, on the contrary, can include positive factors and trends, primarily related to the progressive influence of STP, including such an important modern direction as the all-round digitalization of society.

Relevance. Life expectancy is a comprehensive indicator reflecting the quality of life in a country or region, which is why it is important to estimate the impact of various socio-economic factors on this indicator as accurately as possible. Our study makes a novel contribution to the existing research by conducting a correlation and regression analysis of factors affecting life expectancy in regions of Kazakhstan based on panel data. Research objective. This paper aims to present a modified methodology for estimation of factors affecting life expectancy in regions of Kazakhstan. Data and methods. Our research relies on panel data on regions and cities of Kazakhstan. The data are provided by the Ministry of National Economy and the Ministry of Health Care of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Methodologically, the research is based on regression and correlation analysis. The two main criteria were applied for data selection: availability of statistical data for a sufficiently long period and the potential impact of factors on life expectancy. We built a two-factor power regression model calculated with the help of software package Microsoft Excel. Results. In our research, regression models were used to formulate conclusions concerning the impact of certain socio-economic factors on life expectancy in regions of Kazakhstan. We also brought to light the factors whose relationship to life expectancy requires further investigation. Conclusions. It was found that the most significant factors affecting life expectancy in regions of Kazakhstan are economic ones. The proposed methodology can be used for short- and medium-term predictions of life expectancy.

The article considers the impact of the colonial past of some countries in sub-Saharan Africa and its effect on their development during the post-colonial period. The negative consequences of the geopolitical legacy of colonialism are shown on the example of three countries: Nigeria, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and the Republic of Angola, expressed in the emergence of conflicts in these countries based on ethno-cultural, religious and socio-economic contradictions. At the same time, the focus is made on the economic factor and the consequences of the consumer policy of the former metropolises pursuing their mercantile interests were mixed.

Local and foreign scientists are now paying growing attention to various issues of property and the philosophical and ethical, political, economic, institutional, social, psychological, and other aspects of its formation, taking into account the requirements of large-scale transformation, which primarily concern post-industrial areas of social development. In consequence, as modern studies rightfully point out, considering property relations, two general restrictions should be taken into account: this is an attempt to explain the absoluteness of their roles, the presence and content of all aspects of socio-economic relations by property relations; and the denial of the role of property as one of the most important factors determining the direction of social development in the present and future. This situation forces a new look at the economic policy of the state in this area, because any financial and monetary measures taken by the government will be doomed to failure if their implementation will be without interaction with the mechanisms of the private property system. The article defines the entrepreneurial sector of the region, its interaction with the institutions of the market system operating in all sectors and spheres of the region's economy, and also shows the influence of the development of property relations on the institutions of entrepreneurship.

Background: Children in developing countries are prone to infectious diseases due to insufficient and inappropriate feeding practices. Socio-demographic and socio-economic factors directly and indirectly play a role in influencing infant feeding practices.  This study was conducted to assess the socio-demographic and economic factors associated with initiation of breastfeeding, complimentary feeding, and the various prelacteal feeds practiced in Kaski, Pokhara. Materials and Methods: In this prospective study, interviews were conducted to 500 mothers at Manipal Teaching Hospital who brought their child for treatment. The interviews were conducted in a questionnaire format relating to their demographic and financial statuses. Results: A total of 500 mothers were questioned, out of which 86.6% gave their child breastmilk as its first food. 47% initiated breastfeeding within half an hour of child’s birth. 86% gave Jaulo as the first complementary food to their children. About 26% of the mothers gave complementary feeding to their children before the recommended time of 6 months. Conclusion: Initiation of breastfeeding after life and complementary feeding practices overall has improved from previous studies. There is still need of making awareness campaigns and such in order to further improve this trend. Key words: Breastfeeding; Complimentary feeding; Malnourishment DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.3126/jnps.v32i1.5339     J. Poland is not one of the leaders in the use of renewable energy sources (RES), and most energy is still produced using hard coal and lignite. Therefore, there are noteworthy emissions of air pollution (including ashes and greenhouse gases), and the Polish energy sector is characterized by a substantial degree of carbonization, which, as a result, threatens to expressively increase the costs of electricity production, leading to financial penalties imposed by the EU. The aim of this paper is to analyze socio-economic factors influencing the development of the RES sector in Poland. According to this aim, expert research was carried out, in which the factors influencing development potential of RES were assessed at two levels (level II – 5 factors, level III – 15 factors) according to the factor tree analysis. Based on the analysis of the level II factors, it can be concluded that the development of the RES sector in Poland will depend to a decisive extent on factors such as: EU decisions and Polish legislation affecting the development of the RES sector in Poland, prices and availability of conventional energy carriers. Other two factors – regional policy on ecology and ecological awareness in Poland – have so far little impact on the development of this sector in the state. The analysis of the level III factors shows that the greatest impact on the development of the RES sector in Poland is the influence of European lobbying of manufacturers of machinery and equipment for renewable energy production on EU law, the impact of Polish lobbying of conventional energy producers on Polish law in the production of renewable energy and the influence of European lobbying of renewable energy producers into EU law.
