This study aims to describe the image of principal's leadership patterns in the formation of character values in elementary schools. The research design used a case study research at the Elementary School 07 Sintang, the Islamic Elementary School Sintang, and Elementary School Suluh Harapan Sintang. The subjects of the research used the area sampling method because of consideration of the special characteristics of the schools with reference schools, state Islamic schools and private Catholic schools. Data collection is done through observation, in-depth interviews and document studies. The selection of research subjects using the purposive sampling method. The subjects of these researches were 33 people’s consisting of three principals and 30 teachers. Data validity is done through the triangulation process. The results showed that the dominant leadership patterns in the three schools tended to be dominant in the instructional leader pattern. For the process of forming the students’ character to be more optimized, the principal must do a combination of leadership patterns. Transformative leadership patterns and cultural leadership must be cultivated in strengthening character by innovating strategic programs according to the conditions and abilities of the school. The character strengthening programs that are integrated into students' subjects and extracurricular for students must accommodate the six stages of the pyramid of habituation of character values.

This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study research design. This study refers to aspects of the implementation of the supervision of character-based learning by the principal that focuses on: 1) the strategy of implementing character-based learning supervision; and 2) supporting factors and obstacles in implementing character-based learning supervision. Data collection techniques using the method of observation, interviews, and documentation. From the results of the study, data were collected and analyzed using interactive patterns from Miles and Huberman (reduction, presentation of data, and drawing conclusions). The results showed that: (1) the strategy of implementing character-based learning supervision by school principals used individual methods which included personal conversations, class visits, classroom observations, and meetings with the teacher council. And (2) supporting factors and obstacles faced by school principals in implementing the supervision of character-based learning namely: (1) supporting factors such as: support from the relevant education office, support from parents of students who want their children to get quality learning. Whereas (2) the obstacle faced is that teachers are still found to avoid even afraid to be supervised, as well as the lack of understanding of teachers regarding the importance of supervision in improving and improving the learning process in the classroom. Self-stigma experienced by people who experience schizophrenia has influence on reduced self-esteem, on powerlessness, the weakening of hope, and a motivation towards recovery. The aim of this study is to explain the efforts of people suffering schizophrenia to manage their self-stigma through self-control, using a case study approach. Based on the purposive sampling technique, five people with schizophrenia were selected as the cases to be studied. Data collection techniques utilized in-depth interviews, observation, and documentary studies. The analysis of the study data employed the stages of data reduction, data display, and data verification. Improvement in study quality employed the triangulation of data sources by checking the data to determine its consistency. The results of this study indicate that people with schizophrenia who have the ability to self-control can overcome self-stigma through changes in the manner of viewing themselves, self-training through activities, having endurance, having an honest approach, being able to explain schizophrenia from a positive viewpoint, having initiative, and having a positive attitude and the courage to face challenges.

AbstractMathematics has an important role in life. However, in the practice of learning some students still regard mathematics as a difficult subject. The evidence in the field shows that the geometry learning result is still low. Difficulties in geometrical matter can affect the difficulties of other parts of the material itself, since many of the subjects in the geometry are interconnected. This study aims to determine the factors causing student difficulties in the process of solving geometry problems based on the stages of thinking Van Hiele and to see students' achievement in understanding geometry based on the stages of thinking geometry Van Hiele. The research method used is qualitative research method with case study research type. Research subjects taken as many as 6 students from class VII C SMP Negeri 6 Garut. The results showed that students' achievement in the process of solving geometry problems based on the stage of thinking Van Hiele at most is at stage 0 (visualization). This is indicated by the high percentage of student achievement in the visualization stage that is as much as 96.87%. The achievement of the best stage of Van Hiele thinking was achieved at 3.13% in stage 1 (Analysis). For stage 2 (informal deduction) and stage 3 (deduction) no students have been able to reach that stage. Factors that cause student difficulties in rectangular material caused by several things, namely the understanding of the concept and the characteristics of the rectangle is lacking, previous understanding of the material wake rectangular flat that is still less strong, the lack of skills to use geometric ideas in solving math problems Relating to wake up quadrilateral, as well as class conditions that are less conducive to learning.Keyword: Student difficulties on geometry, Van Hiele thinking stages, Qualitative, Case Studies.
