Abstract   This study aims to determine the effect of compost and biochar fertilizer at a dose of 15 tons ha-1 made from livestock manure and its interaction on the growth and yield of red chili plants. This research was conducted in Blahkiuh Village, Abiansemal District, Badung Regency, Bali with an altitude of 400-500 m above sea level. This research was started from February 2020 to July 2020. The design used in this study was a factorial randomized block design (RBD) consisting of 2 factors, namely: chicken compost with 4 levels and biochar 2 levels by testing the types of compost and biochar. The interaction between the treatment effect with the type of compost and the type of chicken biochar had no significant effect on all observed variables. The treatment of compost application had a significant to very significant effect on most of the observed variables, except for the number of leaves, which had no significant effect. The treatment of chicken biochar dosing had a significant to very significant effect on most variables except for the maximum number of leaves and fresh weight per fruit, which had no significant effect. The results showed that the highest fresh fruit weight was obtained in the type of compost given by chicken livestock, namely 1499.56 g or an increase of 46.46% compared to the lowest treatment obtained without compost, namely 1023.85 g. To increase the growth and yield of red chili plants, it is recommended to use compost types of chicken livestock and chicken biochar at a dose of 15 tonnes ha-1 and further research is needed on the provision of biochar and compost types at different locations and types of plants.   Keywords:  compost, biochar, and chili plants.

Red onion production can be increased by fertilization. Fertilization serves to provide nutrients for plant growth. Chemical fertilizer provides a bad impact on the environment in the long term so that the application of organic fertilizer can be a recommendation. Organic fertilizers are fertilizers derived from animal matter, animal manure, human excreta, and vegetable matter (e.g. compost and crop residues). Waste mushroom logs, cow manure fertilizer, and decomposers used in this research. All of the matter in this research can be a source of nutrients for growing plants and an increase of production and yield of red onions. The objective of this research was to study the combination test between of waste mushroom logs, cow manure fertilizer, and decomposers to growth and yield of red onion. This research was arranged in a Randomized Block Design (RBD), where the main plot is cow manure fertilizer and waste mushroom log, the subplot in the form of a decomposer. The results showed that there was not interaction between cow manure fertilizer and decomposer waste on all parameters of observed growth and yield of red onion. Special decomposer real treatment of the growth of the number of leaves of plant ages 15 HST (18.98), 20 HST (20.33), 25 HST (23.47), 30 HST (25.76), and 35 HST (26.11), and plant height is 35 HST (33.21 cm). The treatment of waste mushroom logs 100% produces a relatively large number of tubers compared to others, which is 8.89 tubers.

Background: Potato seed production with aeroponic technology can produce a large number of seeds, besides that it is also healthy because it uses plant seeds from tissue culture. However, how the quality of aeroponic seeds produced to become the next seed (growth capacity) has not been studied and scientifically informed. This research aimed to obtain the effect of aeroponic seed yields from the low and high plains based on their size on the growth and yield into advanced seeds. Potato seeds used were from the highland and lowland using aeroponic technology. Methods: This research was conducted in the highland (1000 m above sea level) from April to July 2017. Seeds were classified as S ≤ 1 mg, 1 ≤ Md ≤ 10 g and L ≥ 10 g. This research used a randomized block design with seven repetitions. The tried factors were as follows: 1. The origin of aeroponic seeds (A): A1 (lowland), A2 (highland); 2. The size of aeroponic seeds (U): U1 (S), U2 (M), U3 (L). Plant growth parameters included plant height, number of leaves and number of tubers. Result: The data obtained were analyzed using Duncan’s Multiple Range Test (DMRT) at the 5% level. Seeds of aeroponic yields of various sizes that are planted using drip irrigation have the potential to become advanced seeds. The L-size aeroponic seeds from the lowland produced an average of 5.9 tubers with an average weight of 68.4 g.

To produce optimally good quality shallots, proper cultivation techniques are required. Efforts that can be made include modifying the environment in which plants grow. Alternative efforts to increase the quantity and quality of agricultural products, especially shallots can be done by using organic fertilizers and the use of Trichoderma sp. as a plant growth promoting agent, as well as improving the quality of organic fertilizers. The purpose of this study was to determine the role of Trichoderma in increasing the ability of plants to absorb nutrients from the growing media and to determine the best type of organic fertilizer to increase the growth and yield of shallots. The research was conducted at the experimental field of the Faculty of Agriculture, UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta, Wedomartani, Sleman, Yogyakarta Special Region, at an altitude of approximately 104 meters above sea level. The time of the research is from May to July 2021. This study was arranged in a factorial Completely Randomized Block Design with 3 replications. The first factor is the type of manure (P1: without manure, P2: cow manure and P3: goat manure). The second factor was inoculation of Trichoderma sp isolates (I0: without inoculation of Trichoderma sp. isolates. and I1: by inoculation of Trichoderma sp. isolates). Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that the addition of cow and goat manure was able to produce more leaves and plant height than without the addition of manure, although it did not show a significant effect on the yield of shallot bulbs. There is no significant difference between cow manure and goat manure. Trichoderma inoculation has not had a significant effect on the growth and yield of shallots
