Choice of profession is the main factor in the further life of man, his attitude to himself and the world. When choosing a profession, a person is guided by a number of motives. In modern society, the motives of high school students are influenced by many socio-psychological factors: material living conditions, new reforms in secondary and higher education, individual-psychological characteristics of a senior pupil, his abilities, communication skills, families and socialization. All this causes changes in the motivational system of the individual, which in turn influences the process of choosing the future profession. All of the above proves the importance and urgency of studying the motives for the choice of the specialty and university by applicants. The research topic is the motives for choosing a university and specialty and their role in the formation of future professionals. The purpose of the study is to determine the channels for obtaining information about the university and the specialty, identifying the motives for choosing a university and the first impressions of being at the university. The subject of the study is students of the National Pharmaceutical University 1 course of pharmaceutical faculties N 1, N 2, N 3. The subject of the research is the motives for choosing a university and specialty, awareness of the profession, the sustainability of professional choice, satisfaction with the chosen institution and specialty. Methods of research – on-line questioning, study and analysis of data received during the survey. The results of the survey showed that social and professional motives for obtaining education, along with an orientation toward self-development, became the most significant for future pharmacists. It is found out that freshmen have inherent characteristics of creative confidence both in relation to the future profession and in relation to studying at the university. It was revealed that the Internet site takes the first place among the main channels for obtaining information about the NUPh and a specialty, but a significant potential is determined in the provision of information by college teachers, although this channel was not actively used by first-year students. It can be argued that the scientific and pedagogical staff of the university are dealing with students who positively perceive modernity and innovation. On the basis of data analysis, a portrait of a freshman from the NUPh was compiled.

Professional socialization of future graduates of the pedagogical university is aimed at the formation of competencies essential for the practical activity and solution of vital tasks. One of the components of successful professional activity is the willingness for continuing education. The subject of this research is the phenomenon of continuous pedagogical education as the value. Globalization has encompasses all segments of life of the modern society, including education. The rapidly changing world with its uncertainty imposes new requirements on the system of vocational training. A modern specialist is no longer narrow-focused, but is capable of solving complex and versatile tasks, which is facilitated by constant striving for new knowledge using various forms of learning. However, this is only possible with realization by the individual of the need for continuing education and its utility in different axiological coordinates. For the analysis of axiological basis of continuing education, the author surveyed the students of pedagogical university to determine their perception of continuing education as a personal meaningful value that contributes to the achievement of certain career results. The acquired results on the one hand demonstrate the the vagueness of the concept of “continuing education” for the university students; while on the other hand, prove the hypothesis on the need and importance of continuing education for the pedagogues, but at the same time the unwillingness of the future specialists to consider it as the value of life. The presented materials allow adjusting the educational process of future pedagogues and their motivation for continuing education, since the pedagogical classes to Master’s Degree.

The gender gap is measured globally by the World’s Economic Forum in four key areas: economic participation and opportunity, educational attainment, health and survival, and political empowerment. According to the 2020 Global Gender Gap index, it will take us nearly 100 years to get gender parity. Also according to the World’s Economic Forum report, if we consider the fastest growing professions of the future, a critical data reveals a problematic situation: women form only 26% among people with AI and data skills, 15% among people with engineering skills and 12% among those with cloud computing skills. Education is thus an important key to embed gender parity into the future. Today, 55% of working-age women are in the labour market, against 78% of men. This gap can increase even more if we do not include young girls in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) courses. Gender issues concerning access, permanence and ascension of women in STEM careers, in general, relates to various aspects. Between other elements, we point the underrepresentation of women in science communications, sexual or moral harassment caused by professors and colleagues during undergraduate and graduate ages, or the overload of housework for girls, when compared to boys, during early school ages. In other words, gender imbalance in STEM careers is the result of a series of structured oppression suffered by women of all ages. In this context, we developed a set of laboratory routines based on the work of female scientists, directed to students from 12 to 18 years old, at the Planaltina Campus of the University of Brasília. The University of Brasília is the 4th most prominent university in Brazil, and its resources are distributed between four camps. Planaltina Campus is situated 40 km away from the main campus. In recent research, it has been shown that only 30% of Planaltina young population has the intention of accessing the university. From those, only 15% pretend to study exact and earth sciences. Thinking about the World’s Economic Forum alert about professions of the future, we felt the necessity of promoting a program to capacitate, inform and demystify tabus from exact sciences among high school students, especially among girls. The activities start with the rescue of a prominent female scientist in the field that will be worked on that day, followed by a pedagogical transcript of her work. We conduct a hands-on laboratory within the University of Brasília infrastructure. The idea of the labs is to work as a school reinforcement on natural sciences disciplines, and to give visibility to women in science, improving issues such as underrepresentation and mistrust in women work. We will present the results of an implemented questionnaire and also comment about the challenges of our experience.

The article shows the importance of network technologies in teaching schoolchildren. The analysis of textbooks of informatics on the subject of teaching a topic related to the maintenance of databases is given, and the features of its presentation are highlighted. On the example of the implementation of the project “Entering the University”, it is shown how students of grade 11 can be taught to work with network databases. In particular, create and maintain them, use them in professional activities. A step-by-step description of the actions of schoolchildren when creating a network database is given (creating a table structure, fi lling the database with information, selecting information through the formation of a query, working with reports). A business game through which students better understand the purpose of database management systems is described. Examples of a possible violation of information security when working with documents of applicants in the university selection committee are given.

The subject matter of computer vision and pattern recognition can play a useful role in the education of mathematics for students in middle school. New standards in education call for new content relevant to students' lives, and new pedagogical methods involving construction, group work, discovery, and the use of new technology. The project "Mathematics Experiences Through Image Processing" at the University of Washington has developed software and learning activities that enable middle school and high school students to use mathematical tools and concepts to explore some exciting ideas of image processing. This paper describes these materials and discusses how the ideas of computer vision and pattern recognition can be integrated into the curriculum. Not only do we use 2D topics such as digital geometry and edge detection, but also 3D topics such as surface construction and stereogram generation.

Knowing that human resources are important for the progress of a nation, it is necessary to have early preparation in order to be able to foster the future well. Supported also by the third Tri Dharma of Higher Education - Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM), which states that the responsibilities of a teacher include transferring, transforming, and applying knowledge from within the campus to the public. Based on this, the University of Bunda Mulia conducted PKM activities by raising the topic "Preparing the Future in the Early Age". The selection of the subject of this research that has been adjusted to the topic is the Bhakti Utama School students. The method used in this PKM is ice breaking, the delivery of material includes lectures, sharing experiences and video playback as well as a question and answer session that results in two-way communication. In short, the material presented is in the form of the importance of money management and preparation for further education, planning provides direction and reduces uncertainty, and how to change bad behavior and habits. Each session is thirty minutes long. This PKM activity is expected to be held again, of course with more varied topics.
