The calculation of beta stock in Indonesia is still debatable to this day. Though many researchers who have used sophisticated methods mathematically, the assumptions applied in developing the methods are impossible to happen in the real world, such as the ability of stock market return the day after (lead) affects the market return today. This study was conducted to assess the stock price index in Indonesia Stock Exchange that can be used as a proxy of stock market in Indonesia. The results of this study showed that there was a gap between beta stocks counted with JCI return as a market proxy with beta stocks counted with index returns of LQ-45, SRI-KEHATI, PEFINDO-25, BISNIS-27, IDX-30 and KOMPAS-100. This study has also found that the beta counted by using KOMPAS-100 return produced the smallest standard error of the estimate (SEE) that it was more applicable compared to the other stock index returns.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the existence of bias in beta values in the Jakarta Stock Exchange (JSX) that is a developing capital market and have a significant number of stocks that illiquid. Therefore, the measurement of beta is likely bias. The existence of bias beta values is caused by nonsynchronous trading. This study replicates the previous study from Hartono and Surianto (2000). It uses 88 samples of listing firms in the JSX from January 1997 until March 2002. The hypothesis testing concludes that during the-interval period beta values in the JSX are bias. The bias of beta values can be corrected with Scholes-Williams model, Dimson model, and Fowler-Rorke model. The Fowler-Rorke model gives the best result to reduce the bias than others.

The results showed that in partial EPS significantly effects stock price, while CR, ROE, DER, and TATO had not significantly effect the stock price. Adjusted R square value was 0,5040 which showed that CR, DER, TATO, ROE, and EPS influenced the dependent variable by 50,40%, while the remaining 49,6% was influenced by other variables. This study revisits the market reactions on the dividend payment events, cum-dividend date and payment date, using the event study method. The sample of this study includes all dividend announcements from 2017 to 2018 in the Indonesia Stock Exchange. This study performs various robust statistical tests proposed by Harrington and Shrider (2007), who point out that standard classical t-test is not enough to ensure abnormal return on an event because of the bias due to volatility caused by an event. Using various statistical tests for testing the abnormal return, this study shows that the market indeed reacts to the cum-dividend date and dividend payment date, as well as showing that the classical t-test showing the same conclusion as the other tests.
