The aim of this study was to evaluate knowledge on pre-hospital emergency management of tooth avulsion among Croatian kindergarten teachers. A cross-sectional study was conducted among 33 educators in kindergarten (average 43.9±9.7 years). The questionnaire contained 10 close-ended questions with two or eleven possible answers. Statistical significance was determined using chi-square test. Majority of participants had no experience with tooth injury among children in kindergarten. Questions about the familiarity with the terms of a knocked-out tooth and tooth replantation and whether the knocked-out tooth should be replanted were confirmatively answered by 90.9%, 57.6% and 63.6% of participants, respectively. Only 9.1% of participants provided the correct answer that replantation should be done within 30 minutes. 78.8% of participants would choose correct medium for cleaning if avulsed tooth got dirty. Tooth would be transported in appropriate medium by 48.5% of participants. Correct answers on both the transport medium and the cleaning of knocked-out tooth were provided by 45.5% participants. 57.6% participants would seek help for replantation by visiting the nearest dentist. None of the participants had ever received any kind of information on management of a knocked-out tooth. The kindergarten teachers have a lack of knowledge for immediate response to tooth avulsion. Every kindergarten teacher should be well informed what should be done if some type of dental injury happens. The official communication between dental professionals and kindergarten teachers should be improved at local and regional level.

INTRODUCTION: Tehran is always exposed to various dangers due to its high population density. A geographic information system (GIS) can be very useful for reducing the financial and human burden caused by accidents, disasters, and diseases. METHODS: This field study was performed using a practical and descriptive research method. The pre-hospital emergency bases in the east of Tehran province and all the emergency bases covered by Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences in disasters were evaluated as a case study. The population of these cities amounted to 1,149,485 people and included cities in the east of Tehran province, Iran, including Damavand, Firoozkooh, Pakdasht, Pishva, Qarchak, and Varamin. FINDINGS: Rational maps were created and analyzed in the areas where emergency bases were located using ArcGIS software, as well as analysis of regions, distances, point density, and a combination of these factors. Regarding the standards and indicators, it was determined that the Disaster and Emergency Medical Management Center needs to have130 emergency medical technicians, 23 ambulances, and one ambulance bus to equip the exiting emergency bases according to the standard pre-hospital regulations. Other requirements in this regard include the replacement of worn-out ambulances with new ones, construction of two emergency bases in Qarchak, Tehran, Iran, and three emergency bases in Pakdasht, Tehran, Iran, as well as the transfer of bases in the proximity of faults and flood-prone areas to safe places. CONCLUSION: Based on the obtained results, a comprehensive pre-hospital database was designed for the use of managers and officials in the occurrence of accidents, which might be used as a pilot work that can be expanded to other areas of Tehran, Iran, and other provinces in managing disasters and accidents.

Non-medical healthcare professionals, including pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, nutritionists, and radiographers, have a high risk of  COVID-19 infection during work. Personal protective equipment use has shown effective in preventing virus transmission. This study aimed to investigate the compliance with personal protective equipment use and identify the factors that may influence their compliance. The study was designed cross-sectionally, with a self-administered questionnaire. The respondents were non-medical healthcare professionals recruited from covid and non-covid ward at Saiful Anwar General Hospital. The data were collected in November 2020. The questionnaire consists of four questions to assess compliance and eighteen questions to explore the factors that may relate to their compliance. This study used the Chi-square test to differentiate the level of compliance between two groups and binary logistic regression to analyze factors that may influence the compliance. Most participants in this study were female (84.8%), with a median age of 33 (23 – 57) years. More than 80 % of participants worked in the non-covid ward. Only one-fifth of participants had work experience of more than 15 years. The compliance with personal protective equipment was 67.3%. In univariate analysis, factors that influenced the compliance were difficulty using, removing, and disposing of personal protective equipment, lack of training and regular monitoring, unsure about the effectiveness of personal protective equipment, uncomfortable in donning personal protective equipment. Co-workers never reminding themselves to use personal protective equipment also influence compliance. In the multivariate analysis, the difficulty of using, removing and disposing of personal protective equipment (OR 2.83 (0.730 – 3.478), p=0.025) significantly influenced compliance with personal protective equipment use.

Introduction Continued education is a fundamental characteristic of one’s working life, especially in the medical field. Keeping up to date should be a mandatory element of dental practice. Dentin hypersensitivity (DH) has been a long-term significant challenge for practitioners due to the uncertainties around its diagnosis and treatment. The aim of this study is to assess the knowledge of senior dental students and young doctors with respect to this dental pathology. Methodology A total of 632 self-administered questionnaire were distributed to dental students and doctors for data collection. The 10 questions investigated the knowledge about the description of pain in DH, triggering and predisposing factors, treatment strategies, preventive and treatment measures, remineralization products, etiological factors of dental wear, and main characteristics of DH. The data were analyzed using SPSS 20.0. Standard descriptive statistics were computed and analytical statistical analysis was performed using Pearson’s chi-square test. Results The response rate for dental students was 87.87% and 10.2% for young doctors. Most respondents revealed a good level of knowledge regarding pain characterization, triggering factors, and predisposing factors of dentin hypersensitivity, and a satisfactory level for the disease management strategies. The average score of the questionnaire recorded at group level was 42.253. Conclusion Young dentists had better knowledge of DH compared to 6th-year dental students. The information obtained from this study revealed that there is a need to provide better theoretical but also clinical teaching opportunities to students, as well as continued educational programs to young doctors.

Introduction: Studies about Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) in pre hospital setting in Iran is limited. Despite the importance of this issue, numerous challenges in this area are left unattended. Aim: To explore the challenges of the organisational structure and the human resources in pre hospital Emergency Medical Systems (EMSs) for CPR. Materials and Methods: This qualitative study was conducted using content analysis approach. Data was collected through semi-structured interviews in 2020, until saturation was achieved. The participants were 16 Iranian emergency medical staff who were selected through a purposive sampling method. Data were analysed based on the Graneheim UH and Lundman B approach. Results: Thirteen participants were males and the rest were females. The mean age of the participants was 33.06±7.85 years and their mean work experience was 10.62±6.63 years. By analysing the data, the information was placed in two main categories- “the challenges of human resources” which includes four sub categories (lack of experience and skills, intrapersonal challenges, non targeted performance and weakness in education as the existing challenges), and “the challenges of organisational structure” which includes three sub categories (improper structure and access, lack of organisational support and shortages of the facilities and the equipment as the existing challenges). Conclusion: Results from the present study revealed that pre hospital EMSs staff had to face various problems, challenges and limitations in CPR. Therefore, the ability of these staff to manage these challenges should be increased through the opportunity to acquire clinical knowledge and skills in order to improve patient-centered services.

Human resource marketing (HRM) is focused on the creation of job-position while including all relevant parameters such as work specification, wage, and adequate communication of a job offer. Wage is possible to understand as not only the amount of money received but also as all kinds of reward for the work that has been completed. Forms of staff renumeration have received more interest during the last decade, especially in regards to managers and the concept of industry 4.0. Job offer descriptions help to find suitable applicants for specific managerial positions. The main objective of this paper is to state the relationship between gender and the chosen variables (job sources). For this purpose, there was a realized questionnaire survey, focused on HRM in the business environment in the Czech Republic. The sample population for the survey consisted of 522 people, though feedback was only received from 185 participants (a return rate of 35.44%). To process the data, we employed Pearson’s chi-square test for independence and cluster analysis. Graphical design was made using an ROC curve (Receiver Operating Characteristic). According to the results obtained, there were defined relationships between gender and job servers as job sources, and between gender and social networks as job sources. This dependence is supported by the ROC curve, which shows the expectations of wage incomes according to the work-experience of the employee.
