Introduction. The processes of digitalization of all spheres of society, including education, require a detailed analysis of their impact on the development of the personality of students. Practice shows the ambiguity of the impact of digital educational products on the development of the student: they are both a resource, a means of development, and at the same time, they are risky in nature for various spheres of personality: cognitive, emotional-volitional, value, communicative and educational activities. The purpose of the study is to analyze the parameters of the cognitive-personal and activity spheres of students, which are influenced by digital educational products. Materials and methods. The study involved 243 teachers of secondary schools in Moscow, Moscow region, Voronezh, Nizhny Novgorod, Samara (Russian Federation). To determine the risks and benefits of using digital educational products for the cognitive-personal and activity spheres of students, an author's questionnaire was used, with the help of which an anonymous online survey was conducted (using a google-form). Research results. Statistical analysis revealed correlations between the parameters "development" and "deformation" of the cognitive qualities of students "Attention" (rs = -0.905; p≤0.01) and "Memory" (rs = -0.833; p≤0.01), which indicates a significant discrepancy in the assessments of teachers. For most of the characteristics of the personal sphere and educational motivation, the correspondence in the assessments was determined between what “develops” and what “deforms” in students when learning with the help of digital educational products. Conclusion. The novelty of the study lies in identifying the ambiguity of the impact of the digital educational products used on the development of the personality of modern schoolchildren and in determining the areas of greatest risk. The obtained results can be used as recommendations for teachers and leaders of educational institutions in the development of digital educational products for secondary schools.

Several studies have decried the non-existence of functional school libraries in many primary and secondary schools in Nigeria. This inadequacy in school libraries made it extremely difficult for school librarians to foster the culture of reading in students through school library use and reading promotional activities. Moreover, library hours are not included in the school time table in many of the secondary schools in Nigeria. Thus, reading engagement has been on the decline among secondary school students in the country. Despite these challenges, some studies suggested that students will spend more time reading if they have more spare time. Therefore, this study investigated selected secondary school students’ reading engagement during the COVID-19 pandemic school lockdown. It was assumed that the availability of time during the period would motivate students to read since schools were closed and movement was restricted. The study adopted an online survey instrument (Questionnaire) administered to the students over 3-month period (April - June 2020). This instrument was adopted because there was total closure of schools throughout the country, thus the only means students could be reached at the time was through online. The questionnaire was sent to individual students and school online groups. Thus, the study was limited to students with information technology gadgets and online presence. The result revealed that there was no significant difference in the duration of time students spent reading during the lockdown and when school was in session. It also revealed that students read textbooks to prepare for examinations and to keep sound academically.

The paper examines the social and economic aspects of integrating the Republic of Crimea into the Russian Federation. This study is making a new contribution to sociology, as it brings together social and economic statistics and studies of the population’s perception of the impact that the new region’s integration has had on Russian society (conducted as an online survey). We analyze the population’s quality of life indices: average per capita income, expense structure, and minimum wage. The study allows us to conclude that the region is falling far behind the national average per capita income, as well as the relevant figures in most other regions of the Southern Federal District. In order to provide a counterpoint to these statistics regarding Russians’ opinion on the consequences of the Republic of Crimea joining the country, we conducted a sociological online survey (n=1012) among both Crimean inhabitants and people living elsewhere in Russia. The survey shows that the evaluation of the peninsula’s integration into Russia is mostly positive (72%) and neutral (18%), and that a lot of Russians, even though they may never have even visited Crimea, show great concern regarding the region’s social and economic issues, such as the condition of its infrastructure, local tourism, banking and loan restrictions, etc.

In these days education has changed as an essential for everyone. There are many preschools, elementary, secondary, higher secondary schools, universities, arts and science colleges and many. Finding the best school or institution for their children is really very tough for parents in these days. Our work is to create a web application to create online survey, which contains questions and feedbacks about the schools and institutions. The survey questions are related to the attributes, and the behavior of educational institution on behalf of the quality of education, school environment, teaching methodologies, about the management and teachers. And we give authority to attend the survey for the peoples from various places i.e. the former students of various institutions and schools. Thus using our survey we are collecting the data about the schools and institutions, then the data will be handover to the analyst. And the analyst will process the data and make decisions about the institutions and schools. They will decide the ratings for the institutions and schools in Tamilnadu, India. Based on the ratings the parents and students can choose their schools and colleges.

Most of the research on language policies in educational institutions has hitherto focused on the creation, interpretation, or appropriation of language policies that govern language use in the classroom. Language policies, however, can be instantiated or implemented in out-of-classroom settings. Hence, the current study examines the impact of language policies, in terms of both beliefs and practices, as mechanisms of power in communication between staff members in official meetings taking place at higher education institutions in Saudi Arabia. An online survey taken by 208 members, in addition to semi-structured interviews with eight department chairpersons, revealed that the implementation of monolingual English language policies can minimize the proportion of engagement of staff members, who are less competent in English, in department council meetings, committee meetings, and other official meetings. The data also suggested that the majority of participants in the study believe that multilingual language policies (allowing the use of both Arabic and English) should be avoided in order to not exclude non-Arabic speaking staff members from participation in official dialogue. The study concludes with implications for language policy creation and implementation for out-of-classroom English use in EFL educational institutions.

AbstractIn this article, the author discusses contemporary Russian judicial practice concerning the legality of attorney's conditional fees. He starts with a brief overview of foreign practice and distinguishes various kinds of conditional fees. The author provides a classification of conditional fees, through the prism of which he evaluates judicial practice in Russia. He distinguishes and, in particular, contrasts the contingent (or contingency) fee from (with) the conditional fee per se (the conditional fee in the narrow sense). The main focus is on a landmark 2007 Decision of the RF Constitutional Court in which the Court ruled against conditional fees in Russia. The author provides a detailed analysis of the Decision. He supports a view which is in clear opposition to the Constitutional Court, finding the Decision facile, criticizing its motivation and questioning its feasibility. The author describes the claims submitted to the Court, the findings of the Court, and the conclusions reached by the Court. Furthermore, he considers the impact which the Decision may have on judicial practice. The author concludes by discussing the possible future of conditional fees in the Russian Federation and notes that the Decision of the RF Constitutional Court may not constitute the final word on the issue. He advocates further and more in-depth research on the nature of conditional fees.

The scientific article considers the subject of crime against property, which has a pronounced regional specificity [2, p. 152] for its statistical analysis, identification of factors that determine it. The diversity of this type of crime requires a comprehensive analysis and research in order to develop ways to prevent and combat them. This crime is extremely socially dangerous for citizens, organizations and for the state as a whole, as it causes significant material damage. The relevance of the study is that the impact of each individual factor on the amount of material damage is determined by the need to study the state of economic security of the Russian Federation, despite the fact that the units of statistical observation are the regions. [8, pp. 117-123]. Particular importance in the study is given to such an indicator as the amount of material damage for crimes against property in the Russian Federation. To identify the links between the indicators, various methods of statistical analysis were used, which have a significant role in the scientifically based conclusion about the state of economic security of the country. In the process of research the following scientific methods were used: one-dimensional, according to the most significant indicator, and multidimensional grouping, the method of correlation and regression analysis, the method of analytical alignment, the method of cluster analysis. The study established the influence and relationship of socio-economic indicators with each other using correlation and regression analysis. Extrapolation methods were used to simulate the forecast values of indicators for 2020. The key aspect of the statistical study in this article is that in the process of analyzing the relationship between the indicators, it was revealed how the amount of material damage for crimes against property will increase in the near future. Therefore, it is necessary to increase attention to the study of this problem in order to develop more effective ways of preventing and combating economic crimes.
