The purpose of this research is to describe the card sort learning model towards students class VII C writing skill at SMP Negeri 5 Kota Jambi. This research is Quasi eksperiment by using quantitative approach. This research used 1 experimental class which consists of 36 students by using Liliefors test. The requirement test used in this research is normality and homogeinity test. The result of normality pre-test  is -92,48 and post-tes is -432 and the homogeinity score is 0,57 which is higher than significant = 0,05. It means that the data is normal and homogen so that hypothesis test can be tested. Hypothesis test is done by using t test formula. The result shows that the score of  is 1,859 which is higher that the score of  1,000 with significant  = 0,05 with dk 36. It can be concluded that there is a significant correlation between the use of Card sort learning model towards students class VII C writing skill at SMP Negeri 5 Kota Jambi in which the mean category is 93,33 more higher than the mean of pre-test 76,80 Keywords:  The Effect, Card Sort, Poetry Writing

This research was aimed for knowing the influence between promotion effectiveness above the line and below the line to the attractiveness of visitor of Taman Mini Indonesia Indah. This research used a quantitative approach through survey to 150 visitors. Using a convenience sampling Hypothesis test (t test) result that shows that the variable above the line affect significantly to these attractiveness of visitor proved by t value about 5,867 which is more than t table. And the variable of below the line affect significantly with t value about 5,345 which is more than t tabel. The conclusion of this research is promotion of above the line and below the line be influential effectively increase the attractiveness of visitors of Taman Mini Indonesia Indah. This means that the promotional media which can increase the wishes of the people for a visit to Taman Mini Indonesia Indah. Keywords: promotion,above the line, below the line, marketing

This research was aimed for knowing the influence between motivation and work stress against the employees’ performance of staffing and Organization General Bureau, staffing and Organization the Ministry of Tourism. This research used a quantitative approach through survey to 40 employees. All population is used as sample. Hypothesis test (t test) result that shows that the variable compensation affect significantly to these performance proved by t value about 2.693  which is more than t table. But the variable of work stress do not affect significantly with t value about 1.994 which is less than t table.  The conclusion of this research is motivation is the most dominant variable over the performance of the employees. This means that increasing performance of the emplooyees can be seen from the way the institutions provide motivation to employees.   Keywords: motivation, work stress, employee’s performance

The low learning outcomes of mathematics are not appropriate thought of learning models in the classroom. Therefore, the NHT and TPS learning models can be applied to improve the learning of outcomes of the student. This study aims to determine the differences in learning outcomes using the NHT learning model with the TPS learning model. The sampling technique is used as a random sampling cluster with 2 groups of experiments for the first experimental group  (classroom view of TPS model) and the second experimental group (classes of NHT modeling). The instrument of this research uses the test of mathematics learning result. The hypothesis test is used  T-Test. The conclusion of research that are differences in the outcomes of the two learning models (NHT and TPS) on learning outcomes, based on the marginal mean of the TPS learning model is better learning outcomes than the NHT learning model.

The research aims at determining the effect of using Genre-Based Approach towards students’ skill on writing recount text at SMP PGRI 9 East Jakarta. It uses quantitative design by giving treatment of the application of Genre-Based Approach to the experiment class. The population was all students of eight graders at SMP PGRI 9 East Jakarta and was taken 50 of them as the samples. They were divided into two classes; the experiment class consists of 25 students and the control class consists of 25 students. The result shows that the mean of the control class is 69.78, the median is 70, and the mode is 65.94 with standard deviation values is 7.63. While, the mean of the experiment class is 81.06, the median is 81.35 and the mode is 101.5 with standard deviation values is 10.1. The Fobserved is 1.78 < Ftable 1.98, meaning that both classes are homogenous. The hypothesis test tobserved is 4.44 > ttable 2.01, which means that H1 is accepted which confirms there is an effect of using Genre-Based Approach towards students’ writing skill on recount text at SMP PGRI 9 East Jakarta.

This study is a classroom action research. The general objective of this study is improving students’ writing skill through outdoor activity. While the specific objective of this research are (1) whether or not outdoor activity can increase the students’ writing content of descriptive text of the second year of Mts Sudirman Kopeng  Getasan. (2) it describe whether the outdoor activity can improve  the students’ writing skill in developing paragraph. This classroom action research was conducted at MTs Sudirman Getasan. The procedure of the research consisted of planning, action, observing, and reflection. The observation during the process of English teaching and learning was helped by the collaborator. In this research,  the writer acted as a practitioner. The test was in the form of pre-test and post –test conducted in cycle 1, cycle 2, and cycle 3. The research result were: (1)  using outdoor activity as a method can improve students’ writing skill, its proved with the student’s improvement score. The mean score of the pre-test of the students was 57 (very poor) and the mean score of the post- test 70 (good). The mean of the post-Test is higher than the mean of the pre-Test ( 64.53>56.56), the mean of the post-test in cycle 2  is higher than mean of cycle 1 (70.59>64.53) and the mean of the post –Test cycle 3 is higher than cycle 2 (74.56>70.59). the proven result of the implementation was 75%. (2) The effectiveness of using outdoor activity in improving students’ writing skill is proved from the t-test and t-table in cycle 1 (9.67>2.042) which the score of t-test was higher than the score of t-table and the result of t-test and t-table in cycle 3 (15.11>2.042) also showed that the score of t-table.

This research is intended to find out the effect of using think pair share learning model towards students’ writing ability at class VII SMP Negeri 5 Kota Jambi. The method used in this research is quasi experimental design by using the randomized posttest only control design. The sample is taken by using purposive sampling technique. The sample of this research is 72 students; 36 students of control class without think pair share learning model and 36 students of experimental class with think pair share learning model. The requirement test is done by using normality test and homogenity test. The normality test of the postest is done by using Liliefors test. The result of normality which is taken from the control test is L0 < Lt (0,115 < 0,147) while the result of normality test in experimental class is L0 < Lt (0,135 < 0,147) and homogenity test in which Fcount < Ftable (1,054<1,74). It means that in normal and homogenity test, so the hypothesis can be tested. The hypothesis test is done by using t-test formula. The result of the research shows that the value of tcount = 6,25 which is higher than ttable = 1,665. In the level of significancy α = 0,05 with dk is 70. The mean of posttest which is required from the experimental class is 88,61 and the mean of posttest which is required from the control class is 73,61. Thus, it can be concluded that the think pair share learning model has a significant effect towards students’ writing ability at class VIIA and VIIC SMP Negeri 5 Kota Jambi. Keywords: Think Pair Share Model, Writing, Personal Letter

This research is aimed at describing the effect of cooperative integrated reading and composition (CIRC) model towards students essay writing at class XII IPA SMA N 8 Kota Jambi. The method used in this research is quasi experiment. There are two classes used in this reseach; they are class XII IPA 7 consists of 43 students as control class and class XII IPA 5 consists of 43 students as experimental class. Requirement test which is used is normality and homogenity test. The result of normality and homogenity test is 0,69 and 0,067 higher than significance α = 0.005. It means that in normal and homogenity research, hypothesis test can be done. Hypothesis test is required by using t test formula. The result of the research shows that the value of tcount = 2,559 higher that the value of ttable= 1,6746. In significance α= 0.05, dk is 52. Thus, it can be concluded that the effect of the application of cooperative integrated reading and composition (CIRC) model has significant effect towards students achievement in writing essay at class XII IPA SMA N 8 Kota Jambi. One of the curriculum’s expectations at the fourth semester of english department in Institut Pendidikan Tapanuli Selatan (IPTS) is students are able to write narrative text. But in fact, students’ writing narrative text ability is still low, so researcher conduct a research in that field. The purposes of this research are to find out: 1) the extent of students’ writing narrative text ability, and 2) the significant effect of using character oriented local wisdom based learning model on students’ writing narrative text ability at the fourth semester students of english department in IPTS. The method of research is mix method by combining quantitative and qualitative method. The researcher collected the data by using interview and composition writing test. The sample was taken by using total sampling technique, it was 25 students. The data were then analyzed by using descriptive and inferential analysis, it was t-test formula by Arikunto. The findings of the research are the mean score of students’ writing ability before using character oriented local wisdom based learning model was 53.54 which categorized bad, then after using character oriented local wisdom based learning model was 82.50 which categorized good. The hypothesis testing showed that t-test was higher than t-table, it means that the hypothesis is accepted. It clearly seen that there is a significant effect of character oriented local wisdom based learning model on students’ writing narrative text ability at the fourth semester students of english department in IPTS.

The purpose of this study was to find our whether cooperative learning model Co-Op Co-Op approach POE (predict-observe-explain) can increase the ability troubleshooting mathematical students. This research is a research Quasi Eksperimental Design and design researchers used  in this study is the design of the control group pretest-postest, with a technique random class. Hypothesis test used in this research is t-test. From the results of statistical tests showed that the value of t_hitung based on the calculation obtained t_hitung = 5.500869, and t_tabel = 2.001 so that t_hitung> t_tabel. So based on these calculation can be concluded that the model cooperative learning CO-Op Co-Op approach POE (predict-observe-explain) can increase the ability troubleshooting mathematical students.

The problem of this research is whether there is an influence of Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition learning model towards Writing Skill of Student Proposal of Grade 11 MA Mazroillah Lubuklinggau. This study aims to determine whether or not the influence of Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition  learning model on Writing Skill of Student Proposal of Grade 11 MA Mazroillah Lubuklinggau. The method of this research is using experimental method with pretest posttest control group design design or experimental control group design. The population in this research is all students of class 11 MA.Mazroillah Lubuklinggau. Two classes were taken as simple random sampling samples of class 11 IPA as experimental class and class 11 IPS as control class. Data collection techniques use written test techniques. Student ability test data were analyzed by using t test. Based on the result of t test analysis, with the level of trust = 0,05 and degrees of freedom = 41, obtained tcount greater than t table 06 greater than 2.02, then H0 is rejected and Ha accepted. Thus the hypothesis reads that there is an influence of Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition  learning model to the Writing Skill of Student Proposal of Class 11 MA Mazroillah Lubuklinggau is acceptable truth, with the average value of experimental class 80,14 is bigger than control class69,38.
