The problem of depression is still common in Indonesia. West Sumatra is in seventh position out of 34 provinces with the most depression problems. There are four treatments for depression in the elderly, namely psychological, medical, spiritual and physical approaches. Progressive Muscle Relaxation (PMR) therapy makes the body relax. feeling calm so tension is reduced. With a feeling of relaxation and calm, individuals will find it easier to feel calm in their thoughts and feelings. Aim Knowing the effect of Progressive Muscle Relaxation (PMR) therapy on depression in the elderly. Experimental research with Quasi experimental design pre and post test with control group. The sampling technique is simple random sampling. The sample consisted of 40 elderly people, who were divided into two groups, namely the intervention group and the control group. Measurement of depression scores using the Geriatric Depression Scale (GDS) questionnaire with a total of 15 questions. Data analysis using Paired Sample T Test test. There was a decrease in depression scores after being treated with Progressive Muscle Relaxation (PMR) therapy in the intervention group, with p = 0.000 (p <0.05). This shows that there is a change in depression scores experienced by the elderly after being given Progressive Muscle Relaxation (PMR) Therapy. Therapy Progressive Muscle Relaxation (PMR) can be applied as a non-pharmacological therapy at the Panti Tresna Werdha (PSTW).

Aging or growing old is a process of gradual disappearance of the ability of the network to repair itself or replace and maintain its normal function so that it can not survive the infection and repair the damage it suffered (Santoso, et al, 2009) .The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of relaxation progressive muscle to depression level in elderly at Tresna Werdha Gau Mabaji Social House (PSTW) Gowa District. This research uses quasi experimental or quasi experimental method with pretest and posttest design with control group design. Population in this research is elderly who live in PSTW Gau Mabaji Gowa which amounted to 95 people. The sample used is the elderly who experienced depression that is 20 people with the technique of proportional random sampling. The intervention group numbered 10 elderly and control group amounted to 10 elderly people. All respondents followed the study until the end of the study. Test statistics by using independent t-test. There is the effect of progressive muscle relaxation on the depression of depression in the elderly. It is expected that progressive muscle relaxation can be a non-pharmacological treatment in nursing care in elderly patients with depression because it can be done alone by the elderly at all times, does not require much cost, and does not require a long time.

BACKGROUND: The pain feeling and pain are a very frightening condition for the mother while undergoing labor. The fluency in undergoing childbirth is influenced by the mother’s ability to manage labor pain. Good pain management will improve the ability of mothers to undergo labor with good collaboration and speed up the process of complete opening time. The non-pharmacological method used to reduce labor pain intensity is a progressive muscle relaxation technique. Interventions are carried out with movements that combine deep breathing exercises when the muscles are relaxed. This research is a descriptive study using a quasi-experimental approach using two groups, namely, the intervention group and the control group. AIM: The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of progressive muscle relaxation techniques on reducing pain. The number of samples used was 30 people with accidental sampling technique. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Research sites in USU Medan Hospitals and maternity clinics. Data collection was carried out using a questionnaire, which consisted of two parts, namely, demographic data and complete opening time (opening 10 cm). Data analysis was performed using independent sample t-test. RESULTS: Results with significance p < 0.05. The results showed that the intervention with progressive muscle relaxation techniques at the time I could accelerate the complete opening time (opening 10 cm) in the intervention group. CONCLUSION: Intervention using progressive muscle relaxation techniques is expected to be applied as an intervention in the management of labor pain and speed up the opening process.

This study aims to analyze the effect of vertigo (canalit reposition treatment) exercise on body balance in vertigo patients and treatments. The specific purpose of this research is to identify the balance of the body in the control group and the design in this study is a Quasy Experimental study using a Static Group Comparison / Non Exuivalent Group Design research design approach. The hallmark of this research is revealing a causal relationship by looking at one treatment group compared to the control group. The treatment group was observed body balance before vertigo gymnastic intervention (canalit reposition treatment), then observed again after vertigo gymnastic intervention (canalit reposition treatment), while the control group only observed body balance without giving treatment. The population in this study were patients who were hospitalized with simple random sampling technique. Data collection was carried out through questionnaires and observations, then the data was processed and analyzed using the Wilcox statistical test with α 0.05.Based on the results of research that has been done obtained from the Wilcoxon test in the treatment group obtained α = 0,000. While from the control group, the result α = 0.003 This means that there is an influence between Vertigo Gymnastics (Canalit Reposition Treatment) on Body Balance in Vertigo Patients. However, there were differences between the treatment and control groups. Based on these results, the Vertigo Gymnastics (Canalit Reposition Treatment) affects the body’s balance in Vertigo patients. We are confident that Vertigo Gymnastics (Canalite Reposition Treatment) can be used in Vertigo patients in dealing with disorders of body balance as a companion therapy in addition to pharmacological therapy. With Vertigo Gymnastics (Canalite Reposition Treatment), balance disorders can be resolved immediately and the problem of comfort disorders in patients will be resolved as soon as possible.

Hypertension is a condition of increasing a person's blood pressure beyond normal limits, causing increased morbidity and mortality. Hypertension can be reduced by consuming cucumber which contains potassium which inhibits the release of renin so that there is an increase in sodium and water excretion. In addition, it can also be reduced by consuming honey which can prevent the formation of plaque attached to the walls of blood vessels so that it can eliminate bad cholesterol for the body. This study aimed to determine the effect of giving cucumber and honey water immersion on Elderly Hypertension. This study used a Quasy Experimental design with a Pretest and Posttest with Control Group design. Sampling using a simple random sampling technique. The sample in this study amounted to 30 elderly people using the paired sample t-test statistical test. The results showed that the average blood pressure of the intervention group before being given the cucumber and honey water immersion was 153.6/84 mmHg and after it was 148.3/82.1 mmHg. The average blood pressure of the control group before being given the cucumber and honey water immersion was 158.5/80.2 mmHg and after it was 163.5/80.2 mmHg with p = 0.000. In the results of the independent sample test the intervention group before being given therapy, namely Sig. (2-tailed) = 0.027, the control group before treatment was Sig. (2-tailed) = 0.045. While the test results of the intervention group after being given therapy are Sig. (2-tailed) = 0.124, the control group after being given therapy is Sig. (2-tailed) = 0.139. There is an effect of giving cucumber and honey water immersion therapy on changes in blood pressure in the elderly with hypertension. But there is no difference in the average blood pressure of the Hypertensive Elderly. It is expected that the elderly with hypertension can make cucumber and honey water immersion as an alternative therapy to reduce hypertension
