The objective of this paper is to explore the practical application of ta’widh and gharamah in Islamic banking in Malaysia with reference to the guidelines that are applicable to date; and find out the issues detected in the implementation of them. In the course of doing this, Shariah reasons for imposing ta’widh and gharamah in Islamic banking are discussed. Also, whether ta’widh and gharamah would be required for Islamic banking with reference to possible alternatives to them is also discussed. This qualitative study primarily focuses on library research and adopts case study approach for analyzing the application of ta’widh and gharamah. The jurisdiction of the study is Malaysia because the central bank of the country has made policies on the matter. The paper draws on observations made by Shariah scholars about the policies on the subject matter. This study gives an insight into the history and issues related to ta’widh and gharamah which are often kept tacit. It is recommended that future studies should look into the effectiveness of these two approaches to serve as a deterrent factor and contribute to the declining rate of non-performing financing in Islamic banks.

The imposition of collateral in muḍārabah financing contracts is a separate issue for Islamic banks even though in principle Islamic banks are not required to ask for collateral, but in practice, collateral is one of the elements that must be met by business actors in muḍārabah financing contracts. When the collateral is not applied, problems often arise in the case of debtor default. The problem in this study is whether the imposition of collateral can be used as an effort to resolve debtor disputes in muḍārabah financing contracts. To answer the research question, the method used is a normative juridical research method where the law is not only seen as law in books but also the law in action with the statutory approach and case study approach, namely the decision of the Mahkamah Agung. The results of the study presented that binding guarantees in muḍārabah financing contracts can be used as anticipation to minimize the risk of loss based on article 39 of Law no. 21 of 2008 concerning Islamic Banking. When the business actor defaults, neglects, and breaches the contract in muḍārabah financing, the guarantee can be used as an effort to mitigate the settlement of muḍārabah financing disputes to pay off obligations to Islamic banks.

<p><strong><em>ABSTRACT</em></strong><strong><em>:</em></strong><em> </em><em>This study aims to intervene in one of the schizophrenic patients who are in RSUD Dr. Radjiman Widiodiningrat Malang. Subjects experienced hebefrenic schizophrenia. The researcher gave an intervention in the form of expressive writing therapy as a medium to express feelings, heal and improve mental health. This therapy is believed to be able to reveal or describe life experiences in the past, present or future. The method used in the study is qualitative with a case study approach. Peneliti memberikan intervensi berupa <em>expressive writing therapy </em>sebagai media untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pengungkapan diri (<em>self disclosure</em>), menyembuhkan dan peningkatan kesehatan mental. Terapi ini diyakini mampu mengungkap atau menggambarkan pengalaman hidup pada masa lalu, sekarang atau masa depan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. In this article, the author reflects on the process of interviewing professional footballers about the sensitive issue of money and the lessons learned from this process. The article discusses a case study approach using in-depth qualitative interviews, which generates an innovative insight into a closed social world. The focus is on the difficulties of obtaining a sample where challenges faced are discussed. The article also focuses on the interview style employed when dealing with individuals who are experienced at being interviewed regularly. It also examines the issues of being an “insider” when conducting research and ways in which this can benefit the research process. The issue of research being a messy process is also discussed as when conducting this research, it was imperative that the author could deal with unpredictability and had to be flexible to conduct the research. Finally, the article discusses the insecurities of the participants and the issues of trust, as the current position of the author led him to be seen as an “outsider” by some participants.

This study aims to determine the description of self-awareness and faking behavior in employee job interviews. This study uses a qualitative research method with a case study approach. The main subjects in this study were 5 people with the following characteristics: employees who have just worked for less than one year. The results showed that the subject showed a different picture of self-awareness and faking behavior in several aspects. Subjects are able to understand themselves, set life and career goals, build relationships with others, build diversity values, be able to balance their own needs with job demands, and develop self-control over appropriate stimuli. Meanwhile, in faking behavior during job interviews, subjects tend to prioritize physical appearance during the interview, ability to communicate and cover up negative self-images during the interview.

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the semi-fowler position on Respiratory Rate in pulmonary TB patients in the Pelni Hospital in Jakarta. The method used in this research is descriptive research with a case study approach. The results showed that there was a change in respiratory rate from 21x / min to 18x / min in the subject I and 22x / min to 19x / min in subject II for three days of treatment. In conclusion, there is a significant change in the patient's breathing ability before and after the intervention.   Keywords: Semi Fowler Position, Respiratory Rate, Lung TB

Accountability in providing public administration to the poor people in the Social Department of Makassar. This study was qualitative case study approach, while the instruments were the researchers themselves. This study showed that the accountability in providing public administration to the poor people had not run optimally. There were various approaches and alleviation programs for poverty that had not been able to change significantly. There was no continuous program during the official turnover. If the official was changed, then the policy would be changed, thus the programs were ineffective to minimize the poverty in Makassar. The policies and the supports were necessary from all the elements of construction and the involvement of entrepreneurs like stakeholders and community leaders. The government is necessary to take a role in uniting and bridging these issues. In addition, the strategic planning was necessary to involve society, not only as objects of development but also to be involved as the subject of development to alleviate the poverty in Makassar.

This research is done to know the motivation of what is behind the students run a lecture activity that requires science as a form of responsibility as a student and in addition also undergoes work activities that are working on a task to get wages or satisfaction. In this study, researchers used qualitative research with a case study approach, where researchers investigated carefully a program, event, activity, process, or group of individuals. The subject of this study is the students of the PGSD FKIP UWGM from the 2016 to 2019 class who are undergoing college activities while working. To obtain the necessary data in this study conducted various techniques such as observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis techniques conducted include data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. Research findings show that the motivation of students to run a lecture while working because students ' desire to be independent and change their life for the better, by gaining a high education but they must fight the matter by working so that their needs are the cost of living, tuition fees, and other expenses can be fulfilled without having to ask with parents. And try to balance both activities in order to run well and support each other.

The City

The ability in the form of individual toughness to be ready to face bitter realities is known as resilience. Resilience is needed by students, one of which applies as the child of a parent of victims of domestic violence. This research is a qualitative research with a case study approach. The study was conducted at one of the High Schools in the City of Padang. The subjects in this study were one student with criteria as a child whose parents (mother) experienced domestic violence, counseling teachers and parents of students. Taking the subject of this study using purposive sampling method. This study uses data collection techniques with interviews and observations. The technique guarantees the validity of the data carried out by building close relationships with subjects and informants naturally and continually making observations. Data analysis technique is done by data reduction, data display and conclusion drawing and verification. The results revealed that the conditions of resilience of parents (mothers) of domestic violence victims are as follows: (1) IRs have immature emotional control when dealing with domestic violence experienced by their mothers, (2) IRs have poor impulse control when dealing with domestic violence experienced by their mothers , (3) IR has good optimism when facing domestic violence experienced by his mother, (4) IR is still not good at analyzing problems carefully, (5) IR has good empathy, (6) IR has good self-efficacy, and (7) IRs have good reaching out when dealing with their mothers as victims of domestic violence. So, it can be concluded that IR has a fairly good resilience.

This study aimed to understand the impact and effects acquisition events have on an organisation’s brand equity. The literature highlighted a lack of pertinent research into the effects company acquisitions have on consumer-based brand equity (CBBE), especially what impact and consequences there may be on a brand that is acquired by another. This report investigated the overall acquisition process and proceeding effects the process had on an organisation’s CBBE. In order to achieve an in depth understanding, a case study approach was used. Here Rapha Racing Limited (RRL), a UK based up market manufacturer of cycling clothing and accessories for road riders, was explored. RRL was cited as it had recently experienced a £200 million acquisition by two heirs of the Walmart family. Primary research within the case took the form of surveying RRL consumers, interviewing RRL employees and a senior professional, who has been involved in numerous, high value company acquisitions. This multiple perspective approach allowed an insight into how RRL managed their brand throughout the acquisition and whether RRL managed to match, misjudge or exceed consumer brand expectations. This report found how RRL steadied the ship through a clear internal communication strategy with complete transparency between leadership and staff. However, it was found that RRL failed to apply the principle of transparency in their communications with consumers. The paper concludes that careful consideration of the acquiring party, protection of current business culture and systems as well as transparency with existing customers are vital components in controlling an organisation’s brand equity with an acquisition event.
