Traumatic counseling is a counselor's effort to help traumatized clients through the process of personal relationships so that clients can understand themselves in relation to the trauma they have experienced and try to overcome them as best they can. As a natural process, flooding occurs due to the very high flow of river water that exceeds the capacity of the river channel and then overflows into the surrounding area. Meanwhile, flooding can also occur due to human error. There are two possible assistance counseling services that can be applied to overcome post-trauma, namely: 1) psychological reconstruction through help to overcome the past, and 2) social reconstruction through restoring relationships. In its implementation, a communication facility team needs to be formed to provide services and activities regarding conflict for each victim. Therefore, the government should immediately dispatch volunteers who are tasked with providing traumatic counseling services in the form of trauma counseling services which is no less important for flood victims to prioritize.

History twists: social function within the history and post-modernity, an endless debate. AbstractHistory requires facing the new modern debates, which from the post-modernism critical sight have been done within the philosophical and social sciences scope. This contributes to check old conceptual and methodological assumptions, and allows establishing more interdisciplinary fruitful dialogues, with political, social or cultural problems, which from the present reiteratively ask the way the past has been interpreted. Even though the post-modernism trends have questioned the epistemological statute of those great accounts which pretend to explain the past; the historic science has not been away of those issues by creating new topic opening-up, as evidenced in the cultural history field and the works about historical memory. Keywords: Post-modernity, End of History, Metahistory, Social Function of History, Memory.

The prevalence of dementia diagnoses has rapidly increased over the past several decades. Family caregivers of persons with dementia face numerous daily challenges that can negatively impact their well-being. The wellness of caregivers is affected by a range of emotional, social, existential, and self-care factors; hence a mental health counseling approach that addresses these elements is needed. The Indivisible Self (IS-WEL) model is an evidence-based framework for conceptualizing the wellness construct and includes multiple factors that are associated with caregiver well-being. Wellness counseling utilizing the IS-WEL model offers a structure for providing counseling services that support the whole caregiver by mobilizing strengths, improving coping, and enhancing overall well-being. A case vignette demonstrating the application of the IS-WEL model for treatment planning and wellness counseling with a caregiver is presented.

In this article the curtain is raised on the interesting and fascinating relation between Augustine of Hippo and John Cal- vin from Geneva, as seen through the eyes of the Dutch scholar Johannes van Oort. The influences of and links between Augustine and Calvin are immense. This has been the focus of various studies in the past. The purpose of this article is, however, not to re-invent the wheel about these relations, but rather to reflect on one of the most eminent scholars on Augustine, i.e. Van Oort’s vision on these links and to enter into a dialogue with him so as to shed some new light on this topic and on some aspects related to ecclesiology. After attention to the use of Augustine by Calvin, the focus is on the discussion with Van Oort and eventually on the relevance of this for us in South(ern) Africa. It is concluded that in this era of post- modernism and relativism as well much can be learnt from both Augustine and Calvin, and especially with regard to the well- being of the church.

In the past decade, private sector involvement in punishment has been vigorously renewed and expanded. In documenting the growth of this trend, the literature has focused on normative issues related to privately operated prisons. Noticeably missing from the privatization debate is discussion of community corrections. This article seeks to fill this void by examining a rapidly growing trend in community corrections, namely the use of private treatment agencies to provide mandated counseling services to probationers. These services can include sex offense, substance abuse, domestic violence, life skills, impulse control, and anger management counseling. The ethical problems posed by the convergence of rehabilitation, discretion, and profit are raised through concrete examples of privatization's effects on both offenders and the control system. Policy recommendations also are provided to establish more principled treatment sanctioning in the community.

With the continuous development of society, more and more people have begun to pay attention to the health problems of human psychology. In the past, people's psychological problems were not valued for some reason, and there was no proper way to solve the problems. Especially for some college students, their psychological problems are easily overlooked. Most people think that college students only need to learn every day without worrying about other things and will not be troubled by psychological problems. But this is not the case. College students will be troubled by study, love affair, and worry about their future work and life. Therefore, it is necessary to provide psychological counseling services in colleges and universities. In response to these problems, this article will focus on the specific application of hypnosis in college psychological counseling.

The author identifies three stages in the transformation of the dominant ethos in colleges and universities over the past century. These stages were separated by rifts that looked like mild but pernicious culture wars. The first stage which impresses the author most is commonly called Modernism. The second stage is identified as Post-Modernism. The third that presumably takes form before our eyes can be called Neo-Conservatism. Modernism is described as an intellectual position skillfully characterized by Harland G. Bloland. Postmodernism is shown as an intellectual position adopted by Jacques Derrida, Michel Foulcault i Jean-François Lyotard. Copious references to Bloland are also made in this case. The positon of Neoconservatives is exemplified by the writings of Michel Houllebecq, Douglas Murray and Frank Furedi.

A continuum survey of the galactic-centre region has been carried out at Parkes at 20 cm wavelength over the areal11= 355° to 5°,b11= -3° to +3° (Kerr and Sinclair 1966, 1967). This is a larger region than has been covered in such surveys in the past. The observations were done as declination scans.
