Bu çalışma; Türkiye’ye dış göçle gelen Irak, Afganistan, Yemen, Suriye, Azerbaycan, Rusya ve diğer (dış göçle Balkanlar ve Ortadoğu Ülkelerinden gelenler) yabancı uyruklu göçmen öğrencilerin Türk öğrencilere karşı duygusal mesafe durumlarını belirlemek üzere yapılmıştır. Araştırmanın evreni 2018-2019 öğretim yılında İstanbul ili Avcılar ilçesinde resmi liselerde okuyan yabancı uyruklu göçmen öğrencilerdir. Araştırmanın örneklemi ise, 2018-2019 öğretim yılı İstanbul ili Avcılar ilçesindeki devlet okullarında okuyan 125 yabancı uyruklu göçmen öğrenci olarak belirlenmiştir. Çalışmada yabancı uyruklu göçmen öğrencilerin Türk öğrencilere karşı duygusal mesafe düzeylerini belirlemek için Hasan Yılmaz tarafından geliştirilen Ötekine Karşı Duygusal Mesafe Ölçeği ve belirlenen bazı değişkenlere ilişkin verileri toplamak için araştırmacılar tarafından oluşturulan kişisel bilgi formu kullanılmıştır. İlişkisel tarama modeliyle elde edilen bulgulardan dış göçle gelen yabancı uyruklu göçmen öğrencilerin Türk öğrencilere karşı duygusal yakınlık düzeyinde; cinsiyetlerine göre  kız öğrencilerin, sınıf düzeyine göre yüksek sınıf düzeyinde olanların, anne–baba eğitim düzeyine göre eğitim düzeyi yüksek olanların, televizyon izleme düzeyine göre Türkçe televizyon izleme süresi yüksek olanların lehine anlamlı farklılık  saptanmıştır.ABSTRACT IN ENGLISHAnalysing Immigrant Students’ Emotional Distance To Turkish Students in Turkey: Case of Avcilar in İstanbulThe purpose of this study is to determine emotional distance states in high school students who emigrated to Turkey from Iraq, Afghanistan, Yemen, Syria, Azerbaijan, Russia and Balkans and Middle Eastern countries towards Turkish students. The research universe consisted of the immigrant students who currently study in state high schools in Avcilar, Istanbul in 2018-2019 academic year. The scale of Emotional Distance towards the others was used to define the emotional distance states of the immigrant students towards Turkish students and a personal information form which was created by the researchers was used to collect data about some defined variables. The research sample included 125 immigrant students who were enrolled at state high schools in Avcılar in İstanbul in the 2018-2019 academic year. The difference between male and female immigrant students’ emotional proximity scores towards Turkish students were found to be statistically significant. It was also found that the immigrant female students’ emotional proximity levels were greater than immigrant male students’ emotional proximity levels. The females, the relativey better off, the children of relatively better educated parents, and those watching Turkish tv levels more were found to have significantly different than others. 

This paper analyzed of the school climate of senior high school students in Jember in the history lesson context. The purposes of this study are: (1) analyzing the school climate of senior high school students in Jember in the history lesson context; (2) examining the difference of school climate of senior high schools in jember. The total samples involved were 375 students. The analysis of variance (ANOVA) was used to test the difference by using SPSS 23 for windows program. The results showed that the mean value of school climate of SMA 1 Jember 3.66; SMA 2 Jember 3:47; SMA 3 Jember 3:20; SMA 4 Jember 3:39 and; SMA 5 Jember 3:40. The result of the ANOVA test showed that there was a significant difference of school climate of the senior high school students in Jember in the history lesson context (f = 4.789; Sig.0,001). The largest difference of significance level was shown by the sample group of SMA 1 Jember and SMA 3 Jember (mean differences = 0.46611). The school climate of SMA 1 Jember has very significant difference compared to the school climate of SMA 3 Jember.

There has been limited research on depressive symptoms among high school students in St. Kitts and Nevis. This project examines levels of depressive symptoms among fourth form (grade 10) students attending all high schools in St. Kitts and Nevis. Students enrolled in the fourth form during the 2006/2007 academic year in all high schools were administered the Beck Depression Inventory II (BDI-II). A near census of the students was conducted (n = 744 students; 50.4% females, 47.6% males, and 2% no gender reported; age 13–19 years, mean = 15.5 ± 0.8 years). Six in every ten students (62.1%) reported some symptoms of depression, with 14.8% reporting moderate to severe and 9.7% reporting severe symptoms of depression. Females reported significantly higher BDI-II scores (t(727)= 7.11,p< 0.01) with 70% of females reporting some level of depressive symptoms compared with 52% of their male counterparts (X2(1) = 24.6,p< 0.05). Additionally, 34% of females were in the moderate to severe or severe range of depressive symptoms, while 15% of males were in the same range. Students who were older than expected for their grade (i.e., 17 years or older) reported significantly higher BDI-II scores (F(2,740) = 2.88,p< 0.05) than students who were younger or at the expected age (i.e., 14–16 years). Students whose mothers had a high school or postsecondary education reported significantly lower levels of depressive symptoms than students whose mothers had less than a high school education (F(3, 637), = 4.23,p< 0.05). Symptoms of depression among fourth form students in St. Kitts and Nevis are a prevalent problem that is influenced by students’ age, gender, and social class as indicated by maternal education.

In this study, it was aimed to investigate the factors that prevent girls high school participation in recreational activities. The investigation includes 376 students who are in 9. , 10, and 11. grades who study in Samsun Fatma Çavuş Vocational and Technical High School. As a data collection tool ‘personal information form’ and ‘Leisure Constraints Questionnaire-18’. It is used descriptive scanning model in this study. For the relation of statistical analysis, versatile variance analysis; for detecting the difference test of LSD and test of χ² was used. The data obtained from the scale in the research were analyzed by means of SPSS 21.0 statistical software program. In both age groups and grade levels a remarkable difference was monitored in total points (EG: 2,9- GL: 3,43) and subscale of individual psychology (EG: 4,65- GL: 4,17) and establishing (EG: 3,77- GL: 7,35). However, there is no significant difference when examined according to participation in open space activities (p>0.05).As a result, the participation to recreative activities of high school students is affected by varied factors in accordance with their age and grade level. The majority of the students sometimes have great difficulty in their leisure time activities. Elimination of these barriers/difficulties will be useful. ÖzetBu çalışmada, kız lisesi öğrencilerinin rekreatif etkinliklere katılımını engelleyen faktörlerin incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırma, Samsun Fatma Çavuş Mesleki ve Teknik Anadolu Lisesi’nde 2014-2015 öğretim yılında 9. 10. ve 11. Sınıf öğrencilerinden toplam 376 kişiyi kapsamaktadır. Veri toplama aracı olarak “Kişisel Bilgi Formu” ve “Boş Zaman Engelleri Ölçeği-18” kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada betimsel tarama modeli kullanılmıştır. İstatistik analizinde çok yönlü varyans analizi, farklılığın tespiti için LSD testi ve ilişki için χ² testi yapılmıştır. Araştırmada ölçekten elde edilen veriler SPSS 21.0 paket programı ile analiz edilmiştir. Hem yaş gruplarına hem de sınıf düzeyine göre ölçek toplam puanında (YG: 2,9- SD: 3,43) ve bireysel psikoloji (YG: 4,65- SD: 4,17) ve tesis (YG: 3,77- SD: 7,35) alt boyutlarında anlamlı fark olduğu görülmüştür. Fakat açık alan etkinliklerine katılma durumlarına göre incelendiğinde ise anlamlı farklılık görülmemektedir (p>0.05). Sonuç olarak, lise öğrencilerinin rekreatif etkinliklere katılımı yaş grubu ve sınıf düzeyine göre değişik faktörlerden     etkilenmektedir. Boş zamanı değerlendirmede katılımcıların büyük çoğunluğunun bazen güçlük çektiği görülmektedir. Bu güçlüklerin/engellerin ortadan kaldırılması faydalı olacaktır

The aim of this study is to examine relationship between the physical education course sportspersonship behaviors and respect levels for high school students. The sample of study consists of randomly selected 505 high school students (215 female and 290 male) attending state schools in the province of İstanbul in 2016-2017 academic year. “Physical Education Course Sportspersonship Behavior Scale”, “Respect Scale” and personal information form created by the researcher were used in the study. It was found that the scales was valid and reliable and could be used for high school students. Sportsmanship behaviors significantly differed according to the gender of the students (in favor of the girls), the grade (in favor of 10th grade), school success (in favor of good level) and the type of sports most interested (in favor of physically noncontact sports). It was understood that the scale scores of the students are not significantly different according to the family economic conditions. It was found that physical education course sportspersonship behaviors (Realization of Positive Behavior, Avoidance from Negative Behavior) are significantly related to respect levels (Cosmopolitanism, Communitarianism) positively. And it was seen that the level of respect was a significant predictor of the sportsmanship of the students. It is believed that the implementation of activities aimed at improving the level of respect in schools will be helpful in improving sportsmanship behaviors.

Main Purpose of this study is to examine the exaggerated courage, which has given by ignorance that affecting our society and some other societies, based on relation between Dunning-Kruger Effect of high school students with Moral Maturity Level, Life Position and with some other variables. This study was conducted with 377 students those were selected from different class level. In order to get data from students “Students Personal Information Inquiry”-which is for getting information about students and taking their assessments about themselves-, “Moral Maturity Scale”, “Life Position Scale” and “Logical Reasoning Test” were applied. As a result of findings, there is not any correlation between gender and Dunning- Kruger Effect. However, there is a correlation between Dunning- Kruger Effect and the types of high schools and class level of students. While there is a significant relation between Moral Maturity level of students and Life Position of students, but Dunning- Kruger Effect doesn’t have any relation with Moral Maturity level of students not also with Life Position of students. On the other hand, there is a difference between groups self-assessments rate. In the process of pre-test estimates, the individuals in the first quartile group generally estimated themselves lower than their actual position. Lastly, the individuals in the bottom quartile have a huge difference between their estimation and their actual situation. After test the participants were asked to make post-test predictions. As a result of these predictions, it was seen that about themselves participants in the first quartile made minimum changes in their pre-test estimations. While the individuals in the last quartile made the biggest changes in their first estimation they didn’t get nearer to their actual performance. The difference between actual performance and perceived performance is still too high.Extended English summary is in the end of Full Text PDF (TURKISH) file. ÖzetDunning-Kruger Etkisinin ortaöğretim öğrencilerinin Ahlaki Olgunluk Düzeyi ve Yaşam Pozisyonları ile ilişkisinin bazı değişkenler açısından incelenmesini esas alan bu çalışma ile toplumumuzda ve birçok toplumda etkili olan cehaletin vermiş olduğu abartılı cesaretin gözler önüne serilmesi amaçlanmaktadır. Bu çalışma, gönüllülük esasına dayalı olaraktan farklı sınıf kademelerinde bulunan 377 öğrenciyle yapılmıştır. Öğrencilere, katılımcıların kendilerini değerlendirmelerini ve kendileri ile ilgili demografik bilgileri vermelerini sağlayan Kişisel Bilgi Formu, Ahlaki Olgunluk Ölçeği, Yaşam Pozisyonları Ölçeği ve Mantıksal Çıkarım Testi uygulanmıştır. Dunning-Kruger Etkisi ile Cinsiyet arasında anlamlı bir ilişkiye rastlanmaz iken Dunning-Kruger Etkisi ile okul tür ve sınıf düzeyi arasında anlamlı bir ilişkiye rastlanmıştır. Ahlaki Olgunluk Ölçeği ile Yaşam Pozisyonları arsında anlamlı bir ilişki görüldüğü halde, Dunning-Kruger Etkisinin ile Ahlaki Olgunluk Ölçeği ve Yaşam Pozisyonları arasında herhangi bir ilişki görülmemiştir. Test sonuçlarına göre oluşan grupların kendilerini değerlendirme konusunda da farklar gösterdiği görülmüştür. Test öncesi tahminlere göre ilk çeyrekteki grupta yer alan bireyler genel olarak kendilerini olduklarından daha düşük seviyede görmekte oldukları anlaşılmıştır. Buna karşın, son grupta yer alan katılımcıların gerçek durumla tahmin ettikleri durum arasında çok büyük bir farkın olduğu grup olduğu görülmüştür. Test sonrası tahminlerde ise, ilk grupta yer alan katılımcıların kendileri ile ilgili en az hatalı tahminleri yapan grup olduğu, dördüncü grubun en büyük değişimleri yapmasına rağmen yine de gerçek performanslarının çok ötesinde tahminler yaptığı görülmüştür.

The objective has been set through this study to present and compare the aggression levels in three different High School types. The population of the study was constituted by the High School students in the province of Konya and its sampling group by the 226 male and 190 female students studying at Vocational High Schools, Anatolian High Schools, and Sports High Schools. In the study, demographic personal information form was used in the collection of personal information and Buss-Perry Aggression Scale (BPAS), which was developed by Buss and Perry (1992), whose the validity and reliability study in its Turkish form was performed by Demirtas-Mardan (2013), was used for determining the aggression levels. In terms of the anger dimension depending on the gender factor, no statistical change was observed, while it was determined that the average values for the male students in the physical aggression, hostility, and verbal aggression dimensions were higher than the female students and such changes were statistically significant (P&lt;0.05). It can be said on the basis of the findings of this study that the aggression values of the Secondary Education students did not vary in line with the sportive activities and that the male students have more sense of aggression than female students.

Abstract Background The outbreak of Coronavirus Disease 2019(COVID-19) caused psychological stress in Chinese adults population. But we are unaware of whether the pandemic causes psychological stress on children. Methods We used the Children’s Impact of Event Scale questionnaire (CRIES-13) to investigate the degree of Post-traumatic Stress (PTSD) symptoms caused by the pandemic in students selected from schools in Sichuan, Jiangsu, Henan, Yunnan, and Chongqing provinces of China. Results A total of 7769 students(3692 male and 4077 female), aged 8–18 years, were enrolled in the study, comprising 1214 in primary schools, 2799 in junior high schools and 3756 in senior high schools. A total of 1639 students (21.1%) had severe psychological stress reactions. A large proportion of senior high school students (23.3%) experienced severe psychological stress, and they had the highest median total CRIES-13 score. Female students were more likely to experience severe psychological stress and had higher median CRIES-13 total scores than males. Conclusion COVID-19 has placed psychological stresses on primary and secondary school students in China. These stresses are more likely to reach severe levels among female students and senior high school students.

AbstractObjectiveTo ascertain the prevalence and correlated factors of providing consultation on sexual orientation and the characteristics of school nurses in high schools in Japan.MethodsParticipants were school nurses working in high schools in Aichi prefecture. Items investigated included background, experiences in providing counselling on sexual orientation, the availability of materials and resources for students, and learning experiences concerning how to handle sexual orientation concerns. We divided the respondents into two groups: one group who have provided counselling on sexual orientation before and one group with no such experience. Chi square tests were utilized to compare the responses between groups.ResultsAmong the respondents, 38.9% (n = 140) had previous experience of providing counselling to students on sexual orientation. The group with experience of providing counselling is more likely to have 10–29 years of experience, to work at a senior high school, to be informed on notifications from the Ministry of Education, to have experience of learning how to provide counselling on sexual orientation, and to be aware of effective resources.ConclusionIn Japan, it is expected that the support needs related to LGBTI will become more obvious in the future and efforts to create an environment in which it is easy for young people to consult with school nurses or other support figures are necessary.
