The latest electric train at this time has begun to be widely used linear synchronous motors with permanent magnets as driving locomotives.  This  permanent  magnet  has  the  same  function  as  a conventional synchronous motor which is to produce a magnetic field so that the motor can move linearly. This  linear  synchronous  motor  does  not  have  a  gear  (gear)  and  axis,  but  the  mechanical motion of this linear motor is synchronous with the magnetic field running. This running magnetic field is produced by the entanglement of the three phases and the arrangement of magnetic poles U, S, U, S. Because the motor is linear synchronous is a high-speed motor, the mechanical speed is the same as the speed of the magnetic field running. So that this motor is capable of producing large thrust compared to the use of conventional motors (DC motors and induction motors) to drive electric rail trains. If the conventional synchronous motor uses a frequency of 50 Hz, then the linear high-speed synchronous motor uses a frequency of 5-50 Hz in changing its speed and this research the efficiency, electromagnetic power (thrust) and thrust force of a synchronous motor will be analyzed. linear according to the frequency selection from 5-50 Hz, to drive the electric train locomotive.

Background: The methods of calculation and elements of the technology for creating heteropolar magnetic systems of levitation, lateral stabilization and a rotor-runner of a traction linear synchronous motor for the development of the transport technology "Russian Maglev" in order to achieve an increased levitation gap of 0.2 m, reduce the threshold speed of the exit vehicle in levitation mode up to 10 km/h. Aim: to develop methods for calculating and designing heteropolar poles from elementary permanent magnets, coils of the same type based on composite low-temperature superconductors and high-temperature tape superconductors of the second generation and a step-by-step technology for their production. Tasks: Creation of an on-board magnetic system of levitation and lateral stabilization, allowing to provide a levitation gap of 0.2 m, a threshold value of vehicle speed of 10 km/h when transition to levitation mode, to reduce stray magnetic fields to the level of the natural field of terrestrial magnetism of 50 T; Creation of a rotor-runner of a linear synchronous motor with an ironless stator with a power of 10 MW. Methods: outlines the main calculation methodologies: "analysis" and "synthesis". The "analysis" methodology is adopted in solving the "direct" calculation problem, when the configuration of the magnetic system is set and the magnetic field in the working area is calculated, and, if necessary, the stray magnetic fields. This methodology can be effectively applied if there is experience in creating magnetic systems. Otherwise, the "synthesis" methodology is applied, which is used in solving the "inverse" calculation problem, in which the picture of the distribution of the magnetic field in the working zone is set and the configuration of the magnetic system is found (synthesized). Results of the study performed: The parameters and characteristics of high-energy permanent magnets made of rare-earth metals, low-temperature and high-temperature superconducting winding materials have been analyzed, the choice of permanent magnets and superconducting winding material has been made; Calculations of the magnetic system of permanent magnets in the "Halbach assembly" and in the traditional assembly in a toothed ferromagnetic core have been carried out; Calculations of a track coil with a rectangular cross-section of the winding are performed; Methods for calculating and optimizing superconducting magnetic systems from a set of similar track modules have been developed; Conclusions: The results of the performed fundamental research will allow starting the calculation, design and construction of conveyor-main passenger and freight lines of maglev transport, as well as urban public transport.

Vibrations and noises occur during the operation of synchronous motors. To reduce them, more advanced engine designs and special control algorithms are used. The application of a multiphase (m > 3) synchronous motor design allows you to influence the configuration of the magnetic field in a wider range. Thus, the task to develop a control algorithm that improves the vibration-noise characteristics of a multiphase motor is relevant. The finite element method is used to calculate the magnetic field in a 2D formulation, implemented in the Elcut software package. Also, the simulation methods with the MatLab Simulink package are applied. The authors suggest the algorithm to control multiphase synchronous motors with permanent magnets that reduces the level of vibrations. Improvement of vibration-noise characteristics is achieved when the motor is supplied with currents of the certain form, and they compensate the pulsation of electromagnetic forces that occur between various parts of the electric machine. This algorithm is based on the measurement of the electromagnetic forces and the torque directly in the process of control. The results of modeling the operation of the engine with the developed control algorithm are presented. The authors have compared the characteristics obtained using the developed control algorithm and the characteristics that correspond to the sinusoidal source supply. The vibration-noise characteristics of a permanent magnet synchronous motor can be improved by using the control system. This control system generates currents in an appropriately synthesized form. In this case, the power consumption will increase slightly.

In the linear and planar motors, the 1D Halbach magnet array is extensively used. The sinusoidal property of the magnetic field deteriorates by analyzing the magnetic field at a small air gap. Therefore, a new 1D Halbach magnet array is proposed, in which the permanent magnet with a curved surface is applied. Based on the superposition of principle and Fourier series, the magnetic flux density distribution is derived. The optimized curved surface is obtained and fitted by a polynomial. The sinusoidal magnetic field is verified by comparing it with the magnetic flux density of the finite element model. Through the analysis of different dimensions of the permanent magnet array, the optimization result has good applicability. The force ripple can be significantly reduced by the new magnet array. The effect on the mass and air gap is investigated compared with a conventional magnet array with rectangular permanent magnets. In conclusion, the new magnet array design has the scalability to be extended to various sizes of motor and is especially suitable for small air gap applications.

Magnetic pulse welding is a high-speed welding technology, which is suitable for welding light metal materials. In the magnetic pulse welding system, the field shaper can increase the service life of the coil and contribute to concentrating the magnetic field in the welding area. Therefore, optimizing the structure of the field shaper can effectively improve the efficiency of the system. This paper analyzed the influence of cross-sectional shape and inner angle of the field shaper on the ability of concentrating magnetic field via COMSOL software. The structural strength of various field shapers was also analyzed in ABAQUS. Simulation results show that the inner edge of the field shaper directly affects the deformation and welding effect of the tube. So, a new shape of field shaper was proposed and the experimental results prove that the new field shaper has better performance than the conventional field shaper.

The feasibility of a noncontact sensor is investigated. This type of sensor can potentially be used for torque measurement in a speed-variable power transmission system. Torque can be read by examining the phase difference between two induction signals from respective magnetic sensors that detect the magnetic field intensity of permanent magnets mounted on the surface of a shaft in rotation. A real-time measuring algorithm that includes filtering and calibration is adopted to measure the torque magnitude. It is shown that this new torque sensor can perform well under rotation speeds ranging from 300 rpm to 500 rpm. As an interim report rather than a complete development, this work demonstrates the feasibility of noncontact torque measurement by monitoring a magnetic field. The result shows an error of less than 2% within the full test range, which is a sufficient competitive performance for commercial sensors. The price is very low compared to competitors in the marketplace, and the device does not require special handling of the shaft of the surface.

Permanent magnets of different intensities were used to investigate the effect of a magnetic field in the process of preventing deposits of calcium carbonate. The magnets were fixed on the water line from the tap outside. Then heating a sample of this water in flasks and measuring the amount of sediment in a manner weighted differences. These experiments comprise to the change of the velocity of water flow, which amounted to (0.5, 0.75, 1) m/sec through the magnetic fields that are of magnetic strength (2200, 6000, 9250, 11000) Gauss, and conduct measurements, tests and compare them with those obtained from the use of ordinary water.The results showed the effectiveness of magnetic treatment in reducing the rate of deposition of calcium carbonate where up to 60% after treatment, and this percentage is increasing with increasing magnetic field strength where up to 85% when the intensity of the magnetic field 9250 and 11000 Gauss at the velocity of the water flow of 0.75 m/sec. This percentage of reducing was investigated with increasing the velocity of flow of water through a magnetic field. Also the results showed an increase in total dissolved solids (TDS) as well as electrical conductivity and a decrease in the value of surface tension as a result of magnetic treatment.Observation with the photograph pictures of the distillation apparatus oriented in several laboratories, that the amount of sediment formed a thick layer in the device-free magnetic treatment, but it was not dense and in the few quantity in the apparatus treated with magnetic intensity (8000, 9250) Gauss.

This paper proposes and experimentally investigates a novel nondestructive testing method for ferromagnetic elements monitoring, the Magnetic Recording Method (MRM). In this method, the inspected element must be magnetized in a strictly defined manner before operation. This can be achieved using an array of permanent magnets arranged to produce a quasi-sinusoidal magnetization path. The magnetic field caused by the original residual magnetization of the element is measured and stored for future reference. After the operation or loading, the magnetic field measurement is repeated. Analysis of relative changes in the magnetic field (for selected components) allows identifying applied stress. The proposed research methodology aims to provide information on the steel structure condition unambiguously and accurately. An interpretation of the results without referring to the original magnetization is also possible but could be less accurate. The method can be used as a standard technique for NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) or in structural health monitoring (SHM) systems.
