Abstract: The low HOTS (Higher Order Thinking Skills) students based on the results of PISA 2015 in mathematics shows the characteristics of mathematics learning are still familiar with Lower Order Thinking Skills (LOTS) questions. Based on this, HOTS math problems need to be developed at the Vocational high school education level. The difficulty of the teacher in applying HOTS questions is due to the lack of information obtained by the teacher and the lack of sharing activities to compile HOTS questions. The purpose of this community service activity is to provide training for vocational mathematics teachers in making HOTS questions. This community service activity is in the form of training for Mathematics Teachers of Denpasar Development Vocational School and involving all teachers of mathematics subjects. The partner in this dedication activity named I Made Surya Mega Widiastha, S.Pd is one of the mathematics teachers at the Denpasar Development Vocational School. The implementation of community service activities is carried out through three stages, namely planning, implementation, and reflection. Based on the results of the questionnaire given to the partners and to the school, the results of the service have been able to run well.            Keywords: Dedication, Mathematics, Training, Hots  Abstrak: Rendahnya HOTS (Higher Order Thinking Skills) siswa berdasarkan hasil PISA 2015 dalam matematika  menunjukkan karakteristik pembelajaran matematika masih terbiasa dengan soal-soal Lower Order Thinking Skills (LOTS). The Learning that orienting to the Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) can be designed by the teacher for the learning process activities or in the preparation of evaluation questions. HOTS-oriented problems are needed so that students are accustomed and trained to solve problems that are not only memorizing, understanding, and applying concepts. Teachers have obtained much training in making mathematical problems. However, the training specifically in making HOTS-oriented mathematics problems is lacking. Therefore, the training needs to be held to cause HOTS-oriented mathematics problems. The purpose of community service activities is to guide junior high school mathematics teachers in preparing HOTS-oriented mathematics problems. The activity has been carried out in collaboration with the Mathematics MGMP of the Banjar District. The number of participants who attended the activity was 46 people. In summary, the stages of activities include preparing material as guidance material for making HOTS-oriented problems and implementing mentoring. This community service activity has produced 50 HOTS-oriented mathematics problems. The problem categories are based on the HOTS level; 39 items (78%) included analysis problems, and 11 items (22%) included evaluation problems.

The need for developing students' higher order thinking skills is the main indicator in the application of HOTS-based questions in high school mathematics learning. The results of the implementation have not shown satisfactory results. The high level thinking ability of students in Indonesia in Mathematics is still very low. Therefore, a HOTS-based diagnostic test is needed which is able to detect the mathematical misconceptions of high school students as the aim of this study. Based on the research objectives, the method of this study is a qualitative method with research design using the Plomp model research design. The subjects of this study were several students and teachers at a school in Cirebon Regency. The results showed that four HOTS questions could be developed based on three aspects, namely, arithmetic, algebra, and geometry. The problem was developed to detect three forms of misconception, namely, theoretical, classification, and correlational misconceptions. The four questions that have been developed were assessed through the readability test of students and teachers, and CVR and CVI tests were carried out on eight mathematics teachers with valid results. Based on these results it can be concluded that the HOTS questions developed can be implemented for students to detect forms of mathematical misconceptions of high school students.

Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) are essential skills for prospective teachers in the 21st  century. HOTS in the cognitive domain includes the ability in analyzing (C4), evaluating (C5), and creating (C6). In the process of mastering HOTS, one must know first what level of thinking skills he/she has. Therefore, this study aims to measure the achievement of the cognitive thinking skills of students of the Physics Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education University of Samawa. The measurement used test instrument in the form of essay test, then the results of the thinking skills achievement for each cognitive domain of students divided into three categories (low, medium and high). The result of  the student’s achievement of the cognitive thinking skills  obtained by students were in low category of 55%, the medium category of 11%, and 34% in the high category for mastering lower-order thinking skills (LOTS), while for HOTS, 100% was in low category and it can be concluded that the achievement of students' cognitive thinking skills is still in lower-order thinking skills.

The use of instruction tools that only explains the instruction material, but does not know the extent to which students' understanding causes the instruction process to be less than optimal. This study aims to find out the development process, feasibility, and the influence of using student worksheet based on higher order thinking skills in improving Mathematics learning outcomes at MIN 3 Tulungagung and SDI Qurrota A'yun Ngunut Tulungagung. This study uses the development research model of Borg, and Gall. The results show that: (1) The development of HOTS-based worksheets begins with preparing instruction materials in accordance with the Core Competencies and Basic Competencies listed in the 2013 Curriculum.Furthermore, the researcher makes examples of HOTS questions that are in accordance with the material that has been presented, making questions individual and group practice questions and then make competency test questions at the end of the chapter. (2) The worksheets based on HOTS are suitable for use in improving Mathematics learning outcomes. This can be seen from the results of due diligence by media and material experts. (3) There is an influence of using HOTS-based worksheets as indicated by the significant difference in learning outcomes between the experimental class that does instruction using HOTS-based worksheets and the control class that does instruction without HOTS-based worksheets. This is based on the data from the t-test results in which sig-2 0.040 <0.050 is obtained.

Since Indonesia participated in the Program for International Students Assessment (PISA) and the Trend in International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMMS) in 2000, the mathematics test results have never been satisfactory. Even until 2018, the results were still unsatisfactory. In other words, the test results are stagnant. To improve the results of these tests, the government has issued a policy of minimum competency assessment (AKM) or known as the Computer-Based National Assessment (ANBK). One of the tests in it is the provision of questions that are included in the Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) category, as are usually given on the PISA and TIMMS tests. Training for teachers in HOTS-integrated learning tools is needed to prepare schools or madrasas to face HOTS-integrated learning. The service partners are all teachers at MA Assawiyah Pringgasela Timur. The community service is on 7-8 August 2021, which 17 teachers attend. The method used is lecture and demonstration. The result of community service activities is that MA Assawiyah teachers gain knowledge about the basic concepts of Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS), implementation of HOTS in learning planning, and measuring HOTS in students. This can be seen from the learning tools that have been compiled into the HOTS category.
