Along with the development of the times and culture's contact from outside, the moral boundaries that are firmly held by the community are increasingly unclear. At school, for example, many students experience a decline in moral reasoning. However, the limited literature that focuses on improving moral reasoning with a quasi-experimental approach, the author will examine psychological interventions Rational Emotive Behavior Counseling (REB) and Psychoeducation (PSE). This study aims to identify differences in effectiveness between group counseling interventions with PSE and REB in improving students' moral reasoning. The author uses a quasi-experiment with a pretest-posttest follow-up design. The study subjects were Sarbini Islamic Junior High School students who had low moral levels. The research subjects consisted of 22 students divided into 11 students in the PSE group and 11 students in the counseling group with the REB approach. The data analysis results showed differences in students' moral reasoning in the REB and PSE groups. The average increase in students' moral reasoning was higher in the REB group than in the PSE group. The author concludes that group counseling with REB and PSE approaches can be applied to improve moral reasoning in students in schools, especially those based on Islam. However, for more optimal results, the authors suggest using REB.

This study aims to apply rational emotive behavior counseling as an effort to reduce cheating behavior of high school students. The design of this study was conducted using a quasi experimental method approach with a pretest-posttest non-equivalent control group design research design. Data analysis techniques using Wilcoxon mached-pairs signed test, with the Asymp.Sig (2-Tailed) 0.028 <0.05, which shows a significant difference. The Z test value is -0.730 with the Asymp.Sig (2-Tailed) number 0.466, because of the Asymp.Sig (2-Tailed) value> 0.05, it can be concluded that there is no significant difference between the posttest value and the experimental group value with the control group, Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted which means that rational emotive behavior counseling is effective in reducing student cheating behavior. The study was carried out starting from January to March 2018, which took place at Darul Hikmah High School. Based on the results of the study, the researchers proposed several suggestions, among others (1) BK teachers, counseling rational emotive behavior can be applied by BK teachers to reduce student cheating behavior practically and can be easily applied; (2) for researchers furthermore, this research uses the pretest and posttest control group design research models, for the next researcher can use other research designs such as action research in BK, or other experimental research.   References Andrestia, M. The misconception of the Solar System topic is still found in students so that it becomes one of the obstacles in the learning process. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effectiveness of the implementation of Predict-Observe-Explain-Apply (POEA) learning to change the junior high school students' conception in the Solar System topic. Quasi-experimental research with the non-equivalent control group design was conducted in one of the private junior high schools in Bandung city. Samples were selected based on the test of the average significance of the pretest score of the population. Furthermore, 30 students of the experimental class and 32 students of control class were selected. The research instrument, which consisted of 15 four-tier diagnostic test questions about Solar System were used to collect data before and after treatment. The tests were analyzed quantitatively by using the Mann-Whitney statistical test to determine the significance of the difference in the acceptable conception changes (Acceptable Change) of students in the experimental class with changes in the conception of students in the control class. The results of the research show that the implementation of POEA learning is significantly more effective than POE learning in changing the conception of Solar System topic. The findings of this study can be an alternative for junior high school teachers in planning learning about the Solar System, especially in an effort to change students' misconception about the Solar System.

Mathematics is taught in isolation from other subjects and often lacks creative or artistic flair; hence, students often get bored and do not pay attention in class. This study ascertained the effects of background music on students’ achievement, habits of mind, test anxiety, and disposition. The instrument used were the researcher-made mathematics achievement test, test anxiety rating scale, and disposition rating scale which underwent validation through a panel of experts. The result showed that the pretest mean scores in mathematics achievement of all the three groups were “low.” The pretest mean scores in habits of mind of the three groups were “not developed.” The pretest mean scores in test anxiety of groups A and B were both “moderate” while group c was “high.” The pretest mean scores in disposition to music of groups A and c were both “partially liked” while group B was “liked.” As observed, all the background music used had an impact on the improvement of the students’ scores in mathematics. The results of the study served as bases for the development of music-enhanced mathematics program. Authors in the cognitive developmental tradition (e.g. Damon & Hart, 1988; Snyder & Feldman, 1984; Turiel, 1983) have created models to explain transition between stages of development. This study introduces consistency and inconsistency of moral reasoning as patterns of moral thinking and presents implications for moral education. Consistency and inconsistency are determined by the level of “stage mixture” scored on the Defining Issues Test. A 2 × 2 quasi-experimental design was created. Participants were 52, 15-year-old male high school students. Moral judgement was the dependent variable. Consistency, inconsistency, and the experimental procedures were independent variables. Results showed a significant interaction between levels of consistency and educational methods ( P < .014), a developmental progression for the condition inconsistent experimental ( P < .004), and a predicted pattern of change for the condition consistent experimental ( P < .001). The authors concluded that consistency and inconsistency of moral reasoning require different assumptions for the promotion of moral development.

This qualitative study aims to examine the types and realization of the use of Code Switching communication strategies used by junior high school students when communicating in English as a foreign language. The research subjects were 30 students of SMP N IV Surakarta. The research objects were the types and realization of the use of code switching communication strategies used by students when communicating in English. Data were collected through the elicitation technique in which the participants were given the task to describe a cartoon; their speech was recorded and used as the data source. The data were analyzed qualitatively by inductive techniques using Dornyei and Myers-Scotton analysis frameworks. Research findings were interpreted by using relevant theory. The results showed that the learners used three types of code switching, namely: tag code switching, intra sentential code switching, and inter-sentential code switching. And there were three factors that contributed to the use of code switching, namely mastery of bilingual or bilingual, limited mastery of English, and as a compensation strategy. It can be concluded that the use of code switching by English learners as a foreign language is a natural and unavoidable. Because code switching is one of the communication strategies to compensate for the limited mastery of the target language.
