Today's coffee drinks are rife among young people. Competition between the beverage business shops is evident from the emergence of a variety of unique coffee shops. For this reason, the authors are interested in examining factors of current coffee beverage interest in young consumers' buying interest. This research uses descriptive qualitative method. With a purposive sampling technique, respondents are drawn from young people in Jakarta who like coffee drinks. Based on the results of interviews and observations obtained in the field found that there are several factors of interest so that there is an interest in buying among young people namely the factors of a comfortable place, friendly service, good taste factor where many variants, factors of restaurant names and unique menu names make there an interest to be interested in buying. In addition, the price factor is quite affordable, packaging with creative and attractive design. In addition, personal, social and psychological factors were found to be one of the factors of interest in buying contemporary coffee drinks among young people.Keyword: interest factors, buying interest, young consumer

This research was conducted to analyze how modernization affects the implementation of public service administration policies, especially in Kediri, East Java. As is well known, from time to time various aspects of life are required to undergo changes to a more modern direction. The research method used is descriptive qualitative method. Descriptive qualitative research is aimed at obtaining an overview of how modernization affects public service administration policies in Kediri. To obtain the necessary data, the authors used a purposive sampling technique so that the sample taken was more focused, assisted by a review of several related previous studies. The results showed that modernization, especially in the field of technology, was sufficient to influence public service administration policies in Kediri.

This research aims to find out how the process and stages are carried out to make batik colors using natural ingredient pacar kuku leaves, to find out how the results of batik coloring in terms of color evenness, color sharpness, and color absorption using natural ingredient pacar kuku leaves, and to find out how the influence of the time difference for one day, two days and theree days done when soaking batik cloth using natural ingredient pacar kuku leaves (Lawsonia Inermis L). This research is a qualitative research. The research method used is descriptive qualitative method. The population contained in this research were all first year students of Al-Ghazali Class SMP IT Bina Insan, using Purposive Sampling technique, which is a sampling technique with certain considerations. Work evaluation indicators, such as; color evenness, color sharpness, and color absorption as well as the time differences. The results showed that overall the work of batik coloring experiment with natural ingredient pacar kuku leaves (Lawsonia Inermis L) from the time differences for one day, two days and theree days obtained good category result. color evenness overall obtained good category result, color absorption obtained good category result and color sharpness obtained good category result. This study aims to determine the students' ability to draw illustrations in applying the work of drawing illustrations in class VIII SMP Muhammadiyah 7 Medan based on proportions, perspectives and lighting. With the theme of the atmosphere of activities commemorating Indonesia's independence day. The population in this study were all students' works of class VIII SMP Muhamadiyah 7 Medan, namely all students' works and the sample was 21 students' works of class VIII-1 using the purposive sampling technique. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method to find out how the work of illustration images by class VIII students of SMP Muhammadiyah 7 Medan is viewed from the perspective of proportion, perspective and lighting. The findings of this study indicate that the overall ability of class VIII-1 students in drawing illustrations based on proportion, perspective and lighting has a good category with an average value (r) = 85.

AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui desain dan mendeskripsikan prinsip-prinsip kerajinan yang terdapat pada karya kerajinan berbahan serat daun pandan di industri chantika handicraft Medan Sunggal. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Jumlah populasi penelitian 156 karya keseluruhan kerajinan berbahan serat daun pandan yang ada pada chantika handicraft Medan Sunggal. Teknik pengambilan sampel penelitian adalah purposive sampling, yaitu teknik pengambilan sampel sumber data dengan pertimbangaan tertentu, Dari 5 jenis produk berbahan serat daun pandan, diambil sebanyak 13 sampel karya yang terdiri dari 5 karya tas, 2 karya dompet, 2 karya tempat tisu, 2 karya sandal, 2 karya tempat aksesoris. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa desain bentuk kerajinan bahan serat daun pandan di industri ini bentuknya masih terkesan sederhana, bentuknya geometris. Motif anyaman yang terdapat pada kerajinan bahan serat daun pandan ini antara lain motif anyaman lancar, sasag ganda dan kepang, serta motif pada kain batik terdapat ornamen khas sumatera utara. Sementara warna yang digunakan masih terkesan kurang variatif, sehingga tampilan tidak terlalu menarik. Untuk penerapan prinsip-prinsip kerajinan pada karya kerajinan berbahan serat daun pandan yang ada pada industri chantika handicraft Berdasarkan hasil nilai rata-rata oleh 3 tim penilai secara keseluruhan karya kerajinan berbahan serat daun pandan yang ada di industri chantika handicraft Medan Sunggal sudah diterapkan dengan baik. Dilihat dari karya yang di kategori sangat baik di presentasi 25% sedangkan untuk kategori baik di presentase 75%. Aspek penerapan prinsip kerajinan yang paling menonjol diantara prinsip lainnya yaitu pada prinsip irama. Prinsip ini mendapat rating penilaian paling baik dari tim penilai dan prinsip yang paling lemah yaitu prinsip keseimbangan dimana pada prinsip ini mendapat rating penilaian terendah dari tim penilaian.Kata Kunci: kerajinan, daun pandan, prinsip kerajinan.AbstractThis study aims to determine the design and describe the principles of crafts contained in handicrafts made from pandanus leaf fibers in the Medan Sunggal handicraft chantika industry. The research method used is descriptive qualitative method. Data collection techniques used are observation, interviews and documentation. The total population of the study was 156 works of handicrafts made from pandanus leaf fiber in the Medan Sunggal handicraft chantika. The research sampling technique was purposive sampling, namely the sampling technique for data sources with certain considerations, of the 5 types of products made from pandan leaves, 13 samples were taken consisting of 5 bags, 2 purses, 2 tissue places sandals, 2 accessories holder work. The results of this study indicate that the design of the pandan leaf fiber handicrafts in this industry still seems simple, geometric in shape. The woven motifs found in the pandan leaf fiber craft include smooth woven motifs, double sasag and braids, as well as motifs on batik cloth which have a typical North Sumatra ornament. While the colors used still seem less varied, so the appearance is not too attractive. For the application of craft principles to handicrafts made from pandan leaves in the chantika handicraft industry. Judging from the works in the very good category, the presentation is 25% while for the good category the percentage is 75%. The aspect of applying the principle of craft that stands out the most among other principles is the principle of rhythm. This principle received the best rating rating from the assessment team and the weakest principle, namely the principle of balance, which in this principle received the lowest rating from the assessment team.Keywords: craft, pandan leaves, the principle of craft.

This study aims to see the ability of students to apply decorative styles with the collage technique made from stickers in class VII SMP Negeri 1 Perbaungan based on the principles of fine arts, namely unity, balance, and rhythm. The theme used is flora with food jars as media. Based on the researchers 'initial observations, the students' decorative works using paint on paper media were still not optimal. As well as the lack of student knowledge in applying the principles of fine arts is a factor driving student work to be less than optimal. The population in this study was all class VII students of SMP Negeri 1 Perbaungan with 277 students. The sample was 21 students of class VII-1 (superior) using the purposive sampling technique. This study used the descriptive qualitative method. The findings of this study indicate that, in total, the application of the ornamental variety of class VII-1 collage techniques based on the principles of unity, balance, and rhythm has an average value of = 79.5 with a reasonably good category. In detail, the average value is based on the following three aspects: unity = 79.7 (good enough), balance = 79.5 (good enough), and rhythm = 79.3 (good enough) with performance indicators: unity, balance, and rhythm.

Environmental education provides opportunities to instill character education for adolescents in globalization era. However, positive effects of environmental education on character building are rarely studied. This study aimed at analyzing the effect of environmental education on character building of school members. This study used descriptive qualitative method with purposive sampling technique. SJHS 1 Wajak and SJHS 1 Gondanglegi, Malang-East Java were selected as research locations as they were Adiwiyata schools. The data were collected through observation, interview, and documentation techniques. The results showed that environmental education had affected student character building. Various activities and existing regulations affect student characters, such as honest, self-confidence, responsibility, discipline, caring for fellow human beings, caring about nature, courage, religion, and creativity. Habituation and modeling are strategies used in constructing characters. Therefore, environmental education is recommended to be implemented in various schools as an effort to improve the character of school members.

The purpose of the study is to describe the process shift caused by applying certain translation techniques. The research used descriptive qualitative method by applying purposive sampling technique. The source of the data was text of Obama’s and Trump’s inauguration speech and its translation. There were 152 data in each inauguration speech. The data were the clause contained the process type in verbal group in English and its translation. The results of the research showed 10 data or 6.57 % in Obama’s inauguration speech and 7 data or 4.60 % in Trump’s inauguration speech which was changing or shifting in process type from original text into target text (Indonesia). It also showed that the translation techniques caused the shift, especially in verbal group.

This article is based on annotated translation. Annotated translation is a translation with commentary. The objective of this article is to find out strategies that was employed in translating in Personal Pronoun I and You in the novel The Sins of Father by Jeffry Archer. The research used qualitative method with retrospective and introspective as research approached. The syntactic strategies by Chesterman is employ as tools of analysis. The result shows that from 25 data, there are 5 primary data which are taken using purposive sampling technique. There are 3 word ‘I’ and 2 word ‘You’, which all the data has the same translation principle and strategies.

This study aims to determine the effect of store (mall) environment and money availability on consumer impulse buying in the City of Tomorrow (Cito) Surabaya. This study uses a quantitative approach whose data is obtained from the results of questionnaires. The sample in this study were 389 respondents taken based on purposive sampling technique which was included in non-probability sampling techniques. The results of this study indicate that the store (mall) environment has no effect on impulse buying. Meanwhile, money availability has a positive and significant effect on consumer impulse buying in the City of Tomorrow (Cito) Surabaya.

The study of turn taking in extensive reading lecture is aimed at investigation the types of turn taking and its functions. The scope of this study is restricted only to the classroom interaction in extensive reading lecture. There are 30 students and 1 lecturer taken as the respondents. They are taken by purposive sampling. In collecting the data, all utterances produced by the speakers were recorded and scripted. Finally, those scripts were analyzed by using descriptive qualitative method in terms of types of turn taking and its functions.The result shows that there are three turn taking types in extensive reading lecture, namely: taking the turn, holding the turn and yielding the turn. Additionally, there are eleven functions of turn taking in extensive reading lecture, namely: informative, organisation, affective, responsive, external thinking, interrogative, judgemental, intentional, hypothetical, reproductional, and imaginative functions. Keywords: turn, turn taking, and extensive reading lecture
