This research explained about language styles which used in stand-up comedy script brought by Chris Rock. Chris Rock owns famous joke material that is affected by the black comedy pioneers like Richard Pryor and Redd. He attacked the subject of much avoided by comics such as politics, race and celebrity. Openness and honesty witch extremely bold that what makes Chris Rock as one of the most successful and a famous comic in modern comedy. Chris Rock is known for his insulting comedian, he is also known for using satire and surreal in his joke. Language style has several functions in its uses. Stand up comedy brought by Chris Rock is usually shows about the different in human right between black and white skin.Based on the description above, the researcher decided to research language style in stand-up comedy brought by Chris Rock. In this research the researcher uses Keraf (2007) to analyze the language styles. This research is a qualitative descriptive research. This research source of data is stand-up comedy script with tittle “kill the messenger” brought by Chris Rock. Based on research, there are 2 language styles used in “kill the messenger”, there are 10 rhetorical language styles and 17 figurative language styles. Based on the data, hyperbole rhetorical language style is dominantly used in “kill the messenger”. And Epithet figurative language is dominantly used too.The reason is because Chris Rock is still try to persuade the white skin American to be humble to black skin American and must respect to each other. Keywords: Language Styles, Humor, Stand-Up Comedy

Abstract : This research examines the language style in Boy Candra's novel An Usaha Forgetting. A novel is a literary work whose medium is language. language is a very important support tool for authors. Every author is not the same in utilizing the treasures of language in his work because language to develop stories in order to attract the attention of readers of complex stories does not have to be presented with complex language, but complex stories can be made interesting by utilizing the best possible language in the works of literature especially. novel. The language style used by the author is in accordance with the author's skill in playing the language in the delivery of the story, whether it is conveyed in a complex manner, the meaning is that it is easy to understand by the reader. With one reading, the reader already knows what the story is, or does the author use analogical or figurative language. So that to understand the story, the reader must also imagine like the novels by Boy Candra. The formulation of the problem in this study are: what language styles are used in Boy Candra's novel An Usaha Forgetting ?. The purpose of this study is to describe and analyze the style of language in Boy Candra's novel An Effort to Forget. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The data source used in this research is Boy Candra's novel An Usaha Forgetting. The data collection technique used the reading note technique. The analysis technique uses a structural approach. The results of the analysis show that there are four types of comparative language styles, namely: (1) metaphorical language style, (2) personified language style, (3) personified language style (4) antithesis language style. Then the disagreement language style shows that there is one type of language style, namely hyperbole language style. Keywords: analysis, language style, novel

This study aims to gain an understanding and description of the Language Style used by Hillary Clinton are:   to describe the Language style used in Hillary Clinton's speech, entitled: "Hillary Clinton makes history speech" and to determine the Language style used by Hillary Clinton in her speech entitled: "Hillary Clinton makes history speech". The goal of this study is a study of the Language Style in a speech on Youtube com with its subtitle, on March 14, 2018 entitled "Learn English Hillary Clinton makes history speech". The data collection method used in this research is by listening, reading, writing and recording Hillary Clinton's speech texts repeatedly and understanding, identifying, and clarifying the style of language used during the speech. This research is qualitative descriptive research because in this research is explored to the whole speech of Hilary Clinton with the aim of analyzing and determining the type of suitable Language Style. The subject of this study is Hillary Clinton's speech entitled: "Hillary Clinton makes history speech".  The use of language style in Hillary Clinton's speech can facilitate understanding. Complex ideas may be conveyed more clearly through figurative language and slogan rethorically. Stored messages can help to 'alert' a message. The use of various syntactic patterns or figurative words can help audiences remember an important element in the message. The messages conveyed can increase the persuasion appeal

This study was taken as the understanding of management responses remains scarcely understood in theory and practice, especially concerning consumer preferences. This study aims at examining consumer preferences of the action frames and language styles adopted in hotel management responses to online reviews. A multi-method approach, using discrete choice experiments followed by in-depth interviews, was employed. Findings show that past action frames in management responses are preferred by customers due to the certainty, trustworthiness and detailed information provided. Moreover, literal is favoured over figurative language style due to perceived professionalism and conciseness. The current study helps hotel management to further understand consumer preferences of management responses to online reviews, especially regarding action frames and language styles.

The aim the research is to find out and analize satire of the stand up comedy “Mesakke Bangsaku” by Pandji Pragiwaksono. The writer use qualitative descriptive research in observing with content analysis technique. Resources of the research is video tape of stand up comedy “Mesakke Bangsaku” Pandji Pragiwaksono brings transcript into the writing process. Script product of transcription then, identify with use of satire’s theory. Based on analysis result, it find out satire with the highest percentage in the cynicism category which was as many as 39 of data or 38,23%. Another finding is, sarcasm category as many as 37 data (36,27%), ironic 4 data (3,92%), and antiphrase 1 data (0,98%).

This study aims to gain an understanding of the comparison of language styles in a collection of End-of-Season Phrases by Adiska Nirmaya and a collection of Nafaskarya Fatimah Musawa poems. The method used is qualitative descriptive. Data collection techniques in research using documentation techniques. Data analysis techniques with steps: data reduction, data display, and conclusion and verification. The results of the study show that there are comparisons of comparative language styles and opposing language styles. Comparative language style in the collection of End-of-Season Phrases by Adiska Nirmala amounts to 18 data and the language style of contention is 5 data, based on the language style that dominates the collection of Phrase Poems at the End of Season. Whereas the collection of Nafas poems by Fatimah Musawa, namely: Language style comparisons totaling 9 data. While the language style of contention is 11 data. Conclusions, a collection of End-of-Season Phrases by Adiska Nirmaya is more dominant in the style of comparison and the collection of Nafas poems by Fatima Musawa has a dominant style of language in opposition. A poet often uses the style of language in composing poetry in order to achieve the desired beauty. Likewise with one of the famous Arab poets in the modern era, namely Nizar Qabbani. He often uses language styles, one of which is the figurative language style, to compose verses in his poems. One of his works which contains a lot of this style of figurative language is his poem entitled "Mansyūrātun Fidāiyyatun ā Al Judrāni Isrāīl". This study aims to analyze the style of figurative language used in the poem. In this study, researchers used stylistic analysis, to be able to find out the types of figurative language used by poets. The results of this study indicate that poets use several kinds of figurative language styles, namely equation or simile (tasybīh), metaphor or isti’ārah, antonomasia or kināyah, pars pro toto (majāz mursal juz’iyyah), irony and cynicism. The most figurative style of speech used by poets is the style of equality or simile (tasybīh), irony and cynicism. This is because the poem is a criticism and representation of expressions of bitterness, anger, and disappointment of the Palestinian people both towards Israel, America, and other world communities.

This paper discusses about the language style of advertising on Japanese website travel agents in Bali such as 1) www.charterbali.com 2) www.bali-guide.jp 3) www.balinavi.jp 4) www.oji-baliclub. com 5) www.bali-chili.com 6) www.dakadibali.com. The purpose of this study is to determine what kinds of language style are used in these advertisements. This research make use of Gorys Keraf’s theory on language style. The data in this study were obtained from six Japanese-language travel agents in Bali. The research method in this paper is a qualitative descriptive method.               The language styles studied are those styles based on sentence structures. Based on sentence structures, eleven data have been found. They are five climax language styles, one anticlimax style, one data is antithesis language style, one data is parallelism language style, and two data are those typical of repetition language styles. The language styles found on the website are aim to convince Japanese tourists about the products on the website by repeating parts of words that are considered important, displaying important information at the beginning or the end of website.

<p><strong>Abstract:</strong><strong> </strong>This research analyzes qualitative descriptively about form (language style) that is used by Nizar Qabbani. It is used by the researcher for expressing the meanings of Nizar Qabbani’s poems. The results of this research shows that the researcher has found many of language styles usage used by Nizar Qabbani in his poems, like metaphor, simile, paralelisme, metominia, retoris, hyperbola, personification, etc. From the analyzing the poems, the researcher has found the meanings of them namely Ighdab poem that has angry, loving, and promise meaning. Aina Adzhabu poem means true love and lost feel. Then, Ukhibbuki Jiddann poem means true love. All of them are awesome love theme that expressed by Nizar Qabbani. This research aims to analyze the structure of humor in Psycho stand-up comedy employed by Margaret Cho. It is qualitative descriptive research. The main source of this research is the oral data in Psycho stand-up comedy performed by Margaret Cho. There are three steps to find out the aim of this research: the data collection from stand-up comedy entitled Psycho, the analysis of the data, and the last is the display of the result. After all of the data is collected, the researcher tries to find out the structure of Psycho stand-up comedy by using the sequence of joke theory by Rutter and the structure theory of stand-up comedy by Scarpetta and Spagnolli. Based on the data analysis, the researcher finds that this stand-up comedy is divided into three parts: the opening, the core, and the closing. A master of ceremony conducts the opening. The body of this stand-up comedy consists of 31 bits, and in one bit, there are parts such as setup, transition, punchline, act-out, and expanding successful jokes. Margaret Cho delivers the closing of this stand-up comedy as an appreciation to her audiences. The researcher also finds that the punchline that is done repeatedly becomes the characteristics of Psycho stand-up comedy employed by Margaret Cho.

Utomo’s novels are very related to the theme of religion and culture. The language used tends to be simple but still interesting and beautiful so research on the form and function of language style is very interesting. The purpose of this study is to describe the form and function of language style in the three Utomo novels. Data collection is done by heuristic techniques or read by repeatedly. Data analysis method used is hermeneutics. Almost all types of figurative language styles are found, but for the sake of effective exposure, only three data would be presented as examples of the form of language style and the function of language style. The three most found figurative languages are metaphor, simile, hyperbole, personification, and sinekdoke. The function of language also varies, starting from clarifying the picture, increasing the impression, shortening the narrative, and describing the character's feelings. Fulfillment of these functions with simple but beautiful forms of language style makes Utomo's novels have high aesthetic value and are easily understood by readers.
