The aim of this research was to see the correlation between students’ language awareness and learning styles toward their TOEFL listening skill of English Education Study Program, University of Riau Kepulauan (UNRIKA). This research used quantitative method with correlational research design. The selection of research subject used total sampling of 60 students. Data were collected by using 2 questionnaires for students’ language awareness and learning styles variables, as well as the listening test to measure their TOEFL listening skill. This research was analyzed by using Pearson product moment formula and multiple regression to get multiple correlation coefficient (r). From the results of analysis, it was found that the coefficient of multiple correlation (r) = 0.1763, where r ranged from 0.00 - 0.1999. This meant that there was a very low correlation between language awareness (X1) and learning styles (X2) to the dependent variable of students’ TOEFL listening skill. While the coefficient of determination (r2) = 0.028 which meant that 2.8% variation of the independent variables of language awareness (X1)  and learning styles (X2) can explain the variation of dependent  variable of students’ TOEFL listening skill.

The correlation between greasy wool production per unit area, obtained by clipping and measuring an area of about 100 cm² on the midside, and greasy fleece weight at shearing was about 0.58. Wool production from such an area over periods of 7½ or 3½ months was almost as useful as production for 11 months for predicting greasy fleece weight. The multiple correlation coefficient between greasy fleece weight as the dependant variable and production per unit area and 11-months' body weight was 0.79 in 66 rams and 0.71 in 82 ewes. The inclusion of fold score did not improve prediction appreciably. The equation W = P/110 + B1 /12 may be used to predict greasy fleece weight (lb), W, where P is production over 11 months of greasy wool (mg/cm²) and B1 is 11-months' body weight (Ib). A table of this function is included so that values may be read directly. The technique may be a useful aid to selection of Merino sheep if recording of actual fleece weights is difficult or impossible. Nevertheless it should not be regarded as more than a moderately accurate substitute for actual fleece-weighing.

Listening skill in English is one of the most important skills in communication and educational process. However, listening skill is a skill that is not easily mastered by all non-native speaker students. The students need to know and understand the difficulties in listening process. Therefore, the current study aims to investigate the difficulties faced by the students dealing with listening comprehension. This research is a descriptive qualitative research with case study approach that examines six students in third semester of the English education study program in Universitas Muhammadiyah Kotabumi with three different proficiency levels: low, moderate, and high level. The results of this study showed that students with low level faced difficulties with unfamiliar words (message content), speed of speech (speaker), and lack of vocabulary (listener). Then in moderate level students felt difficult in the speed of speech (speaker) and noises (physical settings). Meanwhile, students with high level faced difficulty with the long spoken text (message content), variety of accents (speaker) and noises (physical settings). It can be concluded that the listening comprehension difficulties encountered by the students at tertiary level are different depending on their proficiency in English. Therefore, the implication of the current study is that the lecturer need to consider the information revealed in this study in order to be able to overcome the difficulties faced by the students.

Object: Purpose of this paper is to identify and assess the impact of non-standard employment on the income of the population in Kazakhstan. Methods: For this study, we used methods of statistical multiple correlation and regression analysis based on the software package “Data Analysis” offered by MS Excel. We used data from the official website of the Bureau of National Statistics of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms of the RK at stat.gov.kz. Findings: We have performed a preliminary selection of statistical indicators and determined a group of factors (and corresponding indicators) that hypothetically affect the population income for the period of 2004–2018. We have highlighted a total of twelve factors significantly affecting the income and grouped them into four groups: employment and income indicators, demographic and social indicators. Based on the selection of the most significant factors, we have constructed a regression equation that demonstrates the degree of influence on the resulting income indicator. Subsequently, we have assessed the obtained regression model. The regression equation found is significant by the Fisher criterion; all its parameters, including the intercept term, are significant by the Student's criterion with a maximum error of 0.049. Autocorrelation of the residues is non-existent (according to the Durbin-Watson criterion). The multiple correlation coefficient is 0.99. The results obtained can be useful for assessing the effectiveness of various social policy instruments, both at regional and national levels. Conclusions: Indicators of employment, average wages, and social benefits occupy an important place in the system of indicators of average per capita income. The analysis shows a strong positive relationship between these indicators. At the same time, the overall relationship between changes in indicators of non-standard employment and population incomes in the Republic of Kazakhstan appears to be important for a more adequate analysis of the situation. A negative correlation between indicators of non-standard employment and per capita income confirms the vulnerability and instability of non-standard employee labor relations, and receiving a lower income compared to standard employment.
