Sentiment analysis (SA) aims to extract users’ opinions automatically from their posts and comments. Almost all prior works have used machine learning algorithms. Recently, SA research has shown promising performance in using the deep learning approach. However, deep learning is greedy and requires large datasets to learn, so it takes more time for data annotation. In this research, we proposed a semiautomatic approach using Naïve Bayes (NB) to annotate a new dataset in order to reduce the human effort and time spent on the annotation process. We created a dataset for the purpose of training and testing the classifier by collecting Saudi dialect tweets. The dataset produced from the semiautomatic model was then used to train and test deep learning classifiers to perform Saudi dialect SA. The accuracy achieved by the NB classifier was 83%. The trained semiautomatic model was used to annotate the new dataset before it was fed into the deep learning classifiers. The three deep learning classifiers tested in this research were convolutional neural network (CNN), long short-term memory (LSTM) and bidirectional long short-term memory (Bi-LSTM). Support vector machine (SVM) was used as the baseline for comparison. Overall, the performance of the deep learning classifiers exceeded that of SVM. The results showed that CNN reported the highest performance. On one hand, the performance of Bi-LSTM was higher than that of LSTM and SVM, and, on the other hand, the performance of LSTM was higher than that of SVM. The proposed semiautomatic annotation approach is usable and promising to increase speed and save time and effort in the annotation process.

Cybersecurity has stood out in recent years with the aim of protecting information systems. Different methods, techniques and tools have been used to make the most of the existing vulnerabilities in these systems. Therefore, it is essential to develop and improve new technologies, as well as intrusion detection systems that allow detecting possible threats. However, the use of these technologies requires highly qualified cybersecurity personnel to analyze the results and reduce the large number of false positives that these technologies presents in their results. Therefore, this generates the need to research and develop new high-performance cybersecurity systems that allow efficient analysis and resolution of these results. This research presents the application of machine learning techniques to classify real traffic, in order to identify possible attacks. The study has been carried out using machine learning tools applying deep learning algorithms such as multi-layer perceptron and long-short-term-memory. Additionally, this document presents a comparison between the results obtained by applying the aforementioned algorithms and algorithms that are not deep learning, such as: random forest and decision tree. Finally, the results obtained are presented, showing that the long-short-term-memory algorithm is the one that provides the best results in relation to precision and logarithmic loss.

- Foreign Exchange (Forex) is the exchange / trading of currencies from different countries with the aim of making profit. Exchange rates on Forex markets are always changing and it is hard to predict. Many factors affect exchange rates of certain currency pairs like inflation rates, interest rates, government debt, term of trade, political stability of certain countries, recession and many more. Uncertainty in Forex prediction can be reduced with the help of technology by using machine learning. There are many machine learning methods that can be used when predicting Forex. The methods used in this paper are Long Short Term Memory (LSTM), Gated Recurrent Unit (GRU), Support Vector Regression (SVR). XGBOOST, and ARIMA. The outcome of this paper will be comparison results that show how other major currency pairs have influenced the performance and accuracy of different methods. From the results, it was proven that XGBoost outperformed other models by 0.36% compared to ARIMA model, 4.4% compared to GRU model, 8% compared to LSTM model, 9.74% compared to SVR model. Keywords— Forex Forecasting, Long Short Term Memory, Gated Recurrent Unit, Support Vector Regression, ARIMA, Extreme Gradient Boosting

Forex is the largest global financial market in the world. Traditionally, fundamental and technical analysis are strategies that the Forex traders often used. Nowadays, advanced computational technology, Artificial Intelligence (AI) has played a significant role in the financial domain. Various applications based on AI technologies particularly machine learning and deep learning have been constantly developed. As the historical data of the Forex are time-series data where the values from the past affect the values that will appear in the future. Several existing works from other domains of applications have proved that the Long-Short Term Memory (LSTM), which is a particular kind of deep learning that can be applied to modeling time series, provides better performance than traditional machine learning algorithms. In this paper, we aim to develop a powerful predictive model targeting to predicts the daily price changes of the currency pairwise in the Forex market using LSTM. Besides, we also conduct an extensive experiment with the intention to demonstrate the effect of various factors contributing to the performance of the model. The experimental results show that the optimized LSTM model accurately predicts the direction of the future price up to 61.25 percent.

In this paper, we propose seasonal long short-term memory (SLSTM), which is a method for predicting the sales of agricultural products, to stabilize supply and demand. The SLSTM model is trained using the seasonality attributes of week, month, and quarter as additional inputs to historical time-series data. The seasonality attributes are entered into the SLSTM network model individually or in combination. The performance of the proposed SLSTM model was compared with those of auto_arima, Prophet, and a standard LSTM in terms of three performance metrics (mean absolute error (MAE), root mean squared error (RMSE), and normalization mean absolute error (NMAE)). The experimental results show that the error rate of the proposed SLSTM model is significantly lower than those of other classical methods.

Electrical tomography is a non-invasive method of monitoring the interior of objects, which is used in various industries. In particular, it is possible to monitor industrial processes inside reactors and tanks using tomography. Tomography enables real-time observation of crystals or gas bubbles growing in a liquid. However, obtaining high-resolution tomographic images is problematic because it involves solving the so-called ill-posed inverse problem. Noisy input data cause problems, too. Therefore, the use of appropriate hardware solutions to eliminate this phenomenon is necessary. An important cause of obtaining accurate tomographic images may also be the incorrect selection of algorithmic methods used to convert the measurements into the output images. In a dynamically changing environment of a tank reactor, selecting the optimal algorithmic method used to create a tomographic image becomes an optimization problem. This article presents the machine learning method’s original concept of intelligent selection depending on the reconstructed case. The long short-term memory network was used to classify the methods to choose one of the five homogenous methods—elastic net, linear regression with the least-squares learner, linear regression with support vector machine learner, support vector machine model, or artificial neural networks. In the presented research, tomographic images of selected measurement cases, reconstructed using five methods, were compared. Then, the selection methods’ accuracy was verified thanks to the long short-term memory network used as a classifier. The results proved that the new concept of long short-term memory classification ensures better tomographic reconstructions efficiency than imaging all measurement cases with single homogeneous methods.

The spread of altered media in the form of fake videos, audios, and images, has been largely increased over the past few years. Advanced digital manipulation tools and techniques make it easier to generate fake content and post it on social media. In addition, tweets with deep fake content make their way to social platforms. The polarity of such tweets is significant to determine the sentiment of people about deep fakes. This paper presents a deep learning model to predict the polarity of deep fake tweets. For this purpose, a stacked bi-directional long short-term memory (SBi-LSTM) network is proposed to classify the sentiment of deep fake tweets. Several well-known machine learning classifiers are investigated as well such as support vector machine, logistic regression, Gaussian Naive Bayes, extra tree classifier, and AdaBoost classifier. These classifiers are utilized with term frequency-inverse document frequency and a bag of words feature extraction approaches. Besides, the performance of deep learning models is analyzed including long short-term memory network, gated recurrent unit, bi-direction LSTM, and convolutional neural network+LSTM. Experimental results indicate that the proposed SBi-LSTM outperforms both machine and deep learning models and achieves an accuracy of 0.92.
