The Use of Location-Based Augmented Reality as Information Media in The Digital Map Application of Jakabaring Sport City

Jakabaring Sport City (JSC) is an integrated sports facility complex and a public tourist spot in Palembang. Due to its extensive area and numerous facilities, visitors need a map with distinct markers for the landmark to make it easier when walking around. Recent technology advancements and its expanding role in various fields invites the question on how to integrate technology in the tourism industry. This journal aims to create an android-based digital map application with augmented reality (AR) as a guiding medium that will display directions towards the Jakabaring exit gate. This app is built using Maps SDK for Android to build the digital maps, Navigation SDK for Android to run navigation, and Maps for Unity to display AR objects that will show the directions towards the exit. The development focuses on a location-based service using GPS to track the user's whereabouts and provide real-time location data around the user. This application has a location search feature, a guiding direction (route and navigation) to a designed location, and an AR camera feature to display where the JSC exit gate is located. Every feature is working well and able to help users while visiting JSC. However, this application could still be improved in the AR feature because on its current version, it is only able to display directions to the JSC exit gate when users are within a radius of one kilometer or less to the exit.

STMIK STIKOM Indonesia is an IT campus in Denpasar. STMIK STIKOM Indonesia has vision to create a study program which form bachelors of computer science who have ability to make use of smart technology system and digital system to support the development of tourism industry with cultural insight. From direct observation, it was obtained some findings, such as lack of knowledge of marketingship from the performer of the marketing activity of STMIK STIKOM Indonesia about campus life, especially the information about the study program. The effect is lack of knowledge or understanding of the prospective students about the activity done in the process of education in terms of payment, teaching and learning process, up to supporting facilities in STMIK STIKOM campus environment. Most of prospective students have tendency to come to STMIK STIKOM Indonesia to know directly the profile of TI and SK study program rather than only know through information media and its promotion. In the previous research, it has been made the design of information media study program based on desktop, and augmented reality through android application. In the next research, it is developed an information media based on android by combining information system application study program based on desktop with augmented reality which later produce new information media based on android. This new media has advantage with based on android, thus it can be accessed by anyone through android handphone. Interactive multimedia based on android is a proper way to answer the problems. Android technology gives help in the process of presentation about STMIK STIKOM Indonesia. The application that is installed in the students' handphone can inform freely and detail about important information in STMIK STIKOM Indonesia. This modern technology can be downloaded in STMIK STIKOM Indonesia website and can be accessed by the prospective students everywhere they are.

The number of vehicles in Indonesia continues to increase every year. This also happened in Ponorogo regency. It will also be directly proportional to the number of people who have problems with their vehicles, such as leaked tire quotes for being nailed or other causes. And will also increase the need for tire services. For motorists who are less aware of the surrounding area when experiencing damage to motorcycle tires, then of course to find a place nearest tire patch will be quite difficult. Therefore in this study developed information media for Android-based applications to map the locations - tire patch locations in Ponorogo, as well as looking for the closest tire patch with the rider. This app is a location-based service (location-based service) to the driver with the nearest patch of the banal location. Based on the results of testing this application can help users find the location of location preservation, tar bambal patch location, tire repair shop list, and tire repair shop list distance. This application can also show each other the location in accordance with the location of google maps applications.

Living with water. The Dijkenkaart of the Netherlands De Cultural Heritage Agency made an interesting digital map (in GIS) of all the dikes in the Netherlands. This was possible by using existing digital maps, but new research was necessary to make this general overview. There was discussion about the dating of dikes, because dikes can be of medieval origin, but were adjusted over time. Besides dikes, researchers find GIS and historical information on poldermills, kolks, reclamations and pumping stations. That is why this map is called ‘Living with water’, because this information can help addressing new challenges in climate adaptation strategies dealing with water. In this paper the outcome of a project is presented that aims to modify and improve one of the most widely used Augmented Reality tools. Augmented reality (AR), is a fast growing area of virtual reality research. Augmented Reality (AR) is a newly emerging technology by which user’s view of the real world is augmented with additional information from a computer model. ARToolKit is one of the most widely used toolkits for Augmented Reality applications. The toolkit tracks optical markers and overlays virtual objects on the markers. In the current version of the toolkit the overlaid object is stationary or loops regardless of the optical target position, this means that the overlaid object cannot be animated or changed based on the movement of the optical target. The aim is to improve the toolkit, therefore a design solution to modify it were designed and implement so that users can manipulate the position of the overlaid virtual object, through movements of the optical target. The design solution focuses on developing a mathematically based links between the position of the optical target and the overlaid virtual object. To test the solution test cases were developed and the results show that the design solution is effective and the principal idea can be used to develop many applications in different sectors such as education and health.

Abstract. In many fields today, it is necessary that a team has to do operational planning for a precise geographical location. Examples for this are staff work, the preparation of surveillance tasks at major events or state visits and sensor deployment planning for military and civil reconnaissance. For these purposes, Fraunhofer IOSB is developing the Digital Map Table (DigLT). When making important decisions, it is often helpful or even necessary to assess a situation on site. An augmented reality (AR) solution could be useful for this assessment. For the visualization of markers at specific geographical coordinates in augmented reality, a smartphone has to be aware of its position relative to the world. It is using the sensor data of the camera and inertial measurement unit (IMU) for AR while determining its absolute location and direction with the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) and its magnetic compass. To validate the positional accuracy of AR markers, we investigated the current state of the art and existing solutions. A prototype application has been developed and connected to the DigLT. With this application, it is possible to place markers at geographical coordinates that will show up at the correct location in augmented reality at anyplace in the world. Additionally, a function was implemented that lets the user select a point from the environment in augmented reality, whose geographical coordinates are sent to the DigLT. The accuracy and practicality of the placement of markers were examined using geodetic reference points. As a result, we can conclude that it is possible to mark larger objects like a car or a house, but the accuracy mainly depends on the internal compass, which causes a rotational error that increases with the distance to the target.

SMEs (Small-Medium Enterprises) is the one of economical meters in Indonesia. Research step in designing the application is to determine of main problem and purpose, analysis which covering general description, functional and non-functional need. Android base aplication to search UKM Tembalang which made for searching SMEs location, and give more information about SMEs business. UKM Tembalang is a client server base aplication which made by using java programing language with eclipse software and MySQL database. Location data will be save in database which focusing on taking coorndinate that use GPS to get map and Google Maps APIs for get the route. The use of Google Maps API service and GPS make the aplication better in taking the location coordinate.beside that, the aplication also get for searching position SMEs in Tembalang, with the aplication location searching SMEs.Keywords – SMEs; Android; Location Based Service (LBS); MySQL; GPSAbstrak - UKM (Usaha Kecil Menengah) merupakan salah satu tombak perekonomian di Indonesia Aplikasi Pencari Lokasi UKM Tembalang Berbasis Android yang dibuat untuk pencarian lokasi UKM dan memberi informasi lebih tentang sebuah usaha. UKM Tembalang merupakan aplikasi berbasis client server yang dibuat dengan menggunakan bahasa pemrograman java dengan software eclipse dan menggunakan basisdata MySQL. Data lokasi kafe akan disimpan dalam basisdata yang dititik beratkan pada pengambilan koordinat yang memanfaatkan GPS untuk mendapatkan peta dan Google Maps APIs untuk mendapatkan rute. Penggunaan layanan Google Maps API dan GPS menjadikan aplikasi menjadi lebih baik dalam pengambilan koordinat lokasi. Selain itu aplikasi ini juga dapat mencari letak lokasi UKM di Tembalang, dengan adanya aplikasi pencari lokasi UKM, pengguna dapat dengan mudah menemukan UKM yang dinginkan, beserta informasi UKM yang diambil dari google maupun website dari UKM tersebut.

The growing number of applications available through smart devices provides an increasing diversity of travel-related services like looking up menus for restaurants, finding directions, making reservations, marketing, advertising and using translations. In the last decade, marketers have developed more creative practices to attract consumers. One of these new marketing tools is augmented reality application with the smart technologies, which is considered as an advertising and new marketing communication instrument that increases awareness and helps get information. This chapter presents the profile of AR applications and marketing benefits in tourism industry.

Technological advances have had an impact on many industries as well as the tourism industry. Augmented reality applications, one of the emerging new technologies in recent years, have also started to be used in our daily lives. Augmented Reality (AR) is a technology that allows its users to see the real world together with an additional virtual world that is added in real time to the same field of view. The augmented reality applications contribute to the enrichment of tourists' tourism experiences, especially during their visit and result in augmented satisfaction levels. Furthermore, it is one of the effective tools that can be used against the wear and tear of cultural heritage sites caused by overcrowding. In this chapter, the application fields of the augmented reality in the field of tourism have been discussed under the subtitles. As a result of our study, recommendations for the development of AR applications both for the literature and real-life application have been presented.
