Enhancing small business development and promoting entrepreneurship would be a good strategy to contribute and promote economic development. From the socio-economic development viewpoint, SMEs provide a variety of benefits. The purpose of this study is to examine the link between economic growth and small and medium enterprise performance and develop a conceptual framework in Oman context.Desk Research technique was conducted for this study. The contribution which small and medium businesses can make to national economy and wealth creation needs to be recognized by the governments from the beginning and be considered as part and parcel of the economic development process. SMEs are the major growing force behind the growing economy of the Sultanate of Oman. Experts and economists are unanimous about the role of small and medium enterprises in the development of Oman’s economy. Small and medium enterprises, now representing the largest category in the economic sector, will complement the activities of large-scale businesses as industrialization gains pace in Oman. There is a need to emphasize the role of SME entrepreneurs in economic development, and to ascertain the role of SMEs in capacity building, employment generation, promoting competitive market, technological development for the economic growth of the Sultanate of Oman.

Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) have been noted to play a significant role in promoting economic growth in less developed countries, developing and also in developed countries. Worldwide, the micro and small enterprises have been accepted as the engine of economic growth of any nation. Small and Medium Enterprises are the backbone of the economies, because it trigger employment, output, export, poverty alleviation, economic empowerment, economic development etc. in developed as well as in developing countries. It is more important to developing countries as the poverty and unemployment are burning problems. MSMEs have been playing a momentous role in overall economic development of a country like India where millions of people are unemployed or underemployed. Therefore, the growth of small sectors is essential for the growth in the GDP, employment generation, total manufacturing production and export. India, being one of the fastest growing economies of the world, needs to pay an honest attention for the utmost growth of MSMEs for its increased contribution in above areas.

ABSTRACT -  Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) also known as UMKM is growing rapidly and has become one of many sectors to support the Indonesian Economy. The lack of ability to have NPWP has been a problem for UMKM and also people. The same problem also found at UMKM in Kangkung Village. The purpose of this community service is to train the entrepreneurs about preparing and register oneself to get a NPWP. This community service is consist of four steps which started by survey of service location then collecting data on village potentials and the role of the community , Preparation for the implementation of assistance and training and training activities. After participating in the training, the entrepreneurs become more understanding and can register NPWP. This study aims to broaden the understanding of the importance of SMEs (Small and Medium Enterprises) for the economy of Kosovo, especially in terms of economic development, labor market and innovation. The study was conducted through analysis of documentary sources such as relevant reports of national and international institutions as well as relevant scientific papers. The scientific contribution of this study is theoretical and aims to help researchers of the field for an expanded understanding of SMEs over national economies. This study provides a concise framework of important elements on the economic impact of SMEs on Kosovo's economy. Examination of available data has shown that the SME sector plays a crucial role for the Kosovo economy. The key role of SMEs was emphasized in terms of overall value generated and the labor market while innovation remains a challenge to be addressed by stakeholders

The development of small and medium enterprises (SME) plays an important role in the comprehensive modernization of the economy of single-industry towns, acting as a factor of its growth and diversification. The analysis of the dynamics of the development of SME of non-diversified municipal formations and directions of its state support was made, suggestions on the monitoring organization of statistical factors of SME in single-industry towns and on the development of comprehensive investment plans on modernization of single-industry towns were made in a part of the development and support of small and medium businesses in single-industry towns.

Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) have an important and strategic role in national economic development. In addition to playing a role in economic growth and employment, MSMEs also play a role in distributing development resultsThe purpose of this research is to find out how the efforts to improve the welfare of MSMEs actors in Lawang sub-district through Mudharabah financing at Bank Syari'ah Mandiri KCP Lawang. The method used in this research is the qualitative method. The data collection technique is by observing, interviewing and documenting the stakeholders fram Bank Syariah Mandiri KCP Lawang, as well as MSMEs actors who receive mudharabah financing from BSM KCP Lawang.The results of this study indicate that mudharabah financing at Bank Syariah Mandiri KCP Lawang has a fairly central contribution in improving the welfare of micro and small business actors which is characterized by the presence of new business actors each year. This is a benchmark for the success of mudharabah financing products in the community and as a benchmark for the success of a banking product in increasing the productivity of financing products.

Many Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) have been under pressures from large firms to implement Business-to-Business e-commerce (B2B e-commerce) information systems. However, these SMEs have faced various challenges to do so in the supply chain. This chapter explains the role of Taiwanese government in supporting SMEs in implementing e-commerce by analysing the interactions of government teams with current projects, and challenges of Taiwanese SMEs. Discussions and analyses focus on the government help in setting up infrastructure, B2B e-commerce implementation, and interfirm interactions among SMEs and larger firms. The Taiwanese government has been promoting its global logistic strategy for economic development which stresses supply chain integration by bridging information flows among overseas enterprises, domestic large firms, and local SMEs. Government projects related to this strategy are intended to anchor SMEs’ growing needs in linking B2B e-commerce with large firms. Our analyses and proposal dwell on how government can further bridge the gaps between the intrinsic barriers of SMEs and the interactions with larger firms in B2B e-commerce implementation.

This study is undertaken to find out how SMEs contribute to the economy in terms of employment generation and its impact on the economic growth of the country. Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (SMEs) is accepted globally as a tool for empowering the citizenry and economic growth. In Pakistan efforts have been made by successive governments to increase employment opportunities, reduce poverty and accelerate economic growth by increasing foreign direct investment, diversifying the economy, enacting policy frameworks which favor small business ownership and entrepreneurship programs. Specifically, this study tends to figure out: how SMEs contribute to employment generation, whether a significant number of people is employ within the SME sector; whether the SMEs increase the income level of people. The total number of employees was 255 being selected randomly from Swat marble industries. A questionnaire was constructed and distributed to the selected respondents. The responses were collected and analyzed using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) analytical tool. The study exposes that SMEs play a vital role in employment generation. There is a positive relationship between SMEs and unemployment reduction. The result also shows that there is a positive relationship between SMEs and increase in income level. This study may be beneficial both for practitioners and academicians. For practitioners, the current study may help to devise policies and strategies concerning SMEs to generate employment opportunities. The current study may lead to the generalizability of existing research in the same field as for academic aspect is a concern.

UMKM are very important to note because UMKM are a driver of national economic development. The important role of UMKM is the most productive sector at the time of the monetary crisis in Indonesia. The development of UMKM is also the most important element for economic development policies to create jobs, equal income, economic growth, alleviate poverty and increase income for the regional economy. This study aims to determine how the socio-economic conditions of UMKM actors in the Tourism Object area of the Muaro Jambi Temple Complex, with descriptive statistical analysis methods, frequency analysis, factor analysis and influence tests to determine the effect of independent variables and dependent variables. the results of this study find out how the socio-economic conditions of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in the area of Tourism Object Muaro Jamb ensemble complex, and obtained models and strategies for business development from social capital owned by the community.

Definitions and Sources Definitions: In this paper it is proposed to use the definition of selfemployed, small scale (2-9 employees), medium scale (10-99 employees) and large scale (100 employees and above) to discuss the issues relating to the Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) sector in Pakistan. The national pension (regulated through the Employees Old Age Benefit Institution Legislation) and health insurance (The Provincial Social Security Institutions Legislation) is applicable to institutions with 10 or more employees and provides a natural cut off point between the small scale and medium and large scale sectors. The cut off between the medium and large scale at 100 workers is also appropriate.
