Sarcoidosis during COVID-19 new pandemic infection

A literature review of the combination of sarcoidosis and the novel COVID-19 infection is presented. In mild forms of sarcoidosis, without a decrease in lung function and without requiring immunosuppressive therapy, no additional risks have been identified in the context of a new COVID-19 pandemic. However, at the stage of diagnosis, one should be careful about changes in CT scans in patients with COVID-19, due to their similarity with other conditions manifested by the picture of ‘frosted glass’, as is the case with sarcoidosis. Immunosuppressive therapy for sarcoidosis should be reduced to the minimum possible, leaving only that which ensures the stability of the condition. The self-isolation regimen and the willingness to seek early medical care should first of all be observed by patients with sarcoidosis with large lung lesions.

“Osseointegration” as formulated by Alberktson is crucial for implant survival and success. Osseointegration is a measure of implant stability. Measuring implant stability helps to arrive at decisions as to loading of an implant, allows choice of protocol on a patient to patient basis and provides better case documentation. A successful implant reflects good bone to implant contact and is determined by implant stability both primary and secondary. Implant stability is achieved at two different stages – primary (immediately after implant placement) and secondary (3-4 months after implant placement). Implant stability has been confirmed to affect the process of osseointegration and therefore is essential to understand the methods to measure implant stability and factors influencing. Various methods are developed to assess implant stability which suggests the prognosis of an implant.

: Skin cancer, among the various kinds of cancers, is a type that emerges from skin due to the growth of abnormal cells. These cells are capable of spreading and invading the other parts of the body. The occurrence of non-melanoma and melanoma, which are the major types of skin cancers, has increased over the past decades. Exposure to ultraviolet radiations (UV) is the main associative cause of skin cancer. UV exposure can inactivate tumor suppressor genes while activating various oncogenes. The conventional techniques like surgical removal, chemotherapy and radiation therapy lack the potential for targeting cancer cells and harm the normal cells. However, the novel therapeutics show promising improvements in the effectiveness of treatment, survival rates and better quality of life for patients. Different methodologies are involved in the skin cancer therapeutics for delivering the active ingredients to the target sites. Nano carriers are very efficient as they have the ability to improve the stability of drugs and further enhance their penetration into the tumor cells. The recent developments and research in nanotechnology have entitled several targeting and therapeutic agents to be incorporated into nanoparticles for an enhancive treatment of skin cancer. To protect the research works in the field of nanolipoidal systems various patents have been introduced. Some of the patents acknowledge responsive liposomes for specific targeting, nanocarriers for the delivery or co-delivery of chemotherapeutics, nucleic acids as well as photosensitizers. Further recent patents on the novel delivery systems have also been included here.

Consumable products have received less attention in the circular economy (CE), particularly in regard to the design of resource-efficient products. This literature review investigates the extent to which existing design guidelines for resource-efficient products are applicable to consumables. This analysis is divided into two parts. The first investigates the extent to which general product-design guidelines (i.e., applicable to both durables and consumables) are applicable to consumables. This analysis also scrutinizes the type of recommendations presented by the ecodesign and circular product design, to investigate the novel aspects of the CE in product design. The second analysis examines the type of design considerations the literature on product-type specific design guidelines recommends for specific consumables and whether such guidelines are transferable. The analysis of general guidelines showed that, although guidelines are intended to be general and applicable to many types of products, their applicability to consumable products is limited. Less than half of their recommendations can be applied to consumables. The analysis also identified several design considerations that are transferable between product-specific design guidelines. This paper shows the importance of the life-cycle perspective in product design, to maximize the opportunities to improve consumables.

Este trabalho apresenta revisão de literatura sobre a reação de copigmentação intra e intermolecular e sua relevância na estabilização de antocianinas. Flavonóides não-antociânicos, alcalóides, aminoácidos e nucleosídios, entre outros, podem atuar como copigmentos de antocianinas. O aumento na estabilidade das antocianinas ocorre devido à proteção fornecida pelo copigmento frente à reação de hidratação do cátion flavilium. Estudos ainda são necessários para avaliar a estabilidade de antocianinas adicionadas de copigmentos em sistemas modelos de alimentos, visando aumentar o espectro de aplicação dessas como corantes em alimentos e bebidas. ANTHOCYANINS INTRA AND INTERMOLECULAR COPIGMENTATION: A REVIEW Abstract This research presents literature review about the reaction of intra and intermolecular copigmentation and its revealance in anthocyanins stabilization. Non-anthocyanic flavonoids, alkaloids, amino acids, nucleosides, and others, can act as anthocyanins copigments. The increase in the stability of anthocyanins occurs due to protection supplied by the copigment towards the hydratation reaction of colored flavylium cation. Studies to evaluate anthocyanins stabilization added of copigments in food models system are still necessary, aiming to enhance the application spectra as colorants in foods and beverages.

In this study we have developed a unique method for synthesizing very reactive water splitting materials that will remain stable at temperatures as high as 1450 °C to efficiently produce clean hydrogen from concentrated solar energy. The hydrogen production for a laboratory scale reactor using a “Thermo-mechanical Stabilized Porous Structure” (TSPS) is experimentally investigated for oxidation and thermal reduction temperatures of 1200 and 1450 °C, respectively. The stability and reactivity of a 10 g TSPS over many consecutive oxidation and thermal reduction cycles for different particle size ranges has been investigated. The novel thermo-mechanical stabilization exploits sintering and controls the geometry of the matrix of particles inside the structure in a favorable manner so that the chemical reactivity of the structure remains intact. The experimental results demonstrate that this structure yields peak hydrogen production rates of 1–2 cm3/(min.gFe3O4) during the oxidation step at 1200 °C and the 30 minute thermal reduction step at 1450 ° C without noticeable degradation over many consecutive cycles. The hydrogen production rate is one of the highest yet reported in the open literature for thermochemical looping processes using thermal reduction. This novel process has strong potential for developing an enabling technology for efficient and commercially viable solar fuel production.

Various factors, including drugs as well as non-molecular influences, induce alterations in the stability of proteins in cell lysates, living cells and organisms. These alterations can be probed by applying a stability-modifying agent, such as elevated temperature, to a varying degree. As a second dimension of variation, drug concentration or factor intensity can be used. However, the corresponding analysis scheme has a low throughput and high cost. Additionally, since traditional data analysis employs curve fitting, proteins with unusual behavior are frequently ignored. The novel Proteome Integral Stability Alteration (PISA) assay avoids these issues altogether, increasing the analysis throughput by one to two orders of magnitude for unlimited number of parameter variation points. The consumption of the compound and biological material decreases by the same factor. We envision widespread use of the PISA approach in chemical biology and drug development.

The N-degron pathway is a branch of the ubiquitin-proteasome system where amino-terminal residues serve as degradation signals. In a synthetic biology approach, we expressed ubiquitin ligase PRT6 and ubiquitin conjugating enzyme 2 (AtUBC2) from Arabidopsis thaliana in a Saccharomyces cerevisiae strain with mutation in its endogenous N-degron pathway. The two enzymes re-constitute part of the plant N-degron pathway and were probed by monitoring the stability of co-expressed GFP-linked plant proteins starting with Arginine N-degrons. The novel assay allows for straightforward analysis, whereas in vitro interaction assays often do not allow detection of the weak binding of N-degron recognizing ubiquitin ligases to their substrates, and in planta testing is usually complex and time-consuming.

Taking advantage of tourists’ intensive flow, the SARS-CoV-2 virus rapidly spread causing thousands of deaths globally. Trying to contain the already pandemic virus, government travel restrictions were suddenly imposed. Consequently, the tourism industry, which at that moment employed one in ten workers globally, suddenly collapsed. Hundreds of thousands of workers immediately lost their income. Flights were cancelled, and thousands of tourists were stuck abroad with no means to return to their home countries. The gravity of the situation raised the question of whether there was scholarly knowledge that could have helped manage tourism during the current pandemic. To answer this question, a methodical literature review was performed, allowing for up to 900 publications to be analysed. Keywords used were pandemic, tourism, tourist and travel. Based on this process, 63 publications were selected for further analysis. Among these, less than 5% were focused on the tourism side of the problem. As such, this research concludes that, by the time the novel coronavirus emerged, there was, virtually, no scholarly knowledge on how to manage tourism during pandemic times so as to avoid chaos, and that the scholarly community studying related issues is very small. Moving forward, this article recommends that research funding agencies and universities encourage the sound development of this area of knowledge. Aspects that should be investigated include when, how and by whom should tourism be halted, as well as the feasibility of a Tourism World Fund for supporting related costs.

In late 2019, a new viral infection appeared in China, which spread around the world, causing a pandemic. The causative agent of the new coronavirus infection COVID-19 is the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus. The review presents modern data on the epidemiology, pathogenesis and course of the novel coronavirus infection COVID-19 in children. Chinese, American and European scientists have described a variety of cutaneous manifestations in children with COVID-19. The article provides a literature review of the cutaneous manifestations of COVID-19 coronavirus infection in children. During our own observation of 301 patients with coronavirus infection COVID-19 caused by SARS-CoV-2 at the Bashlyaevs Children Hospital in Moscow from May 17 to November 16, 2020, it was revealed that 39 (13 %) patients had skin manifestations. The article presents a classification of skin manifestations characteristic of COVID-19. A brief description of each group is given.

Architects and Writers work on the same base with an alike goal and, Architectural concepts could be kindled and inspired by anything in the world henceforth, it could be stimulated by novels and narrations of literature. Thus, the result and conclusion would be exploring an exercise and posing an example of the novel The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand, manifested by the literature review and case studies, henceforth triggering the thoughts of future evolution and enhancement of practice on the topic
