This study aims to determine the impact of the use of gadgets by early childhood. This  is a case study employing descriptive qualitative method. Data was collected by means of interviewing parents and observing children's behavior. The source of data is two mothers with 4 children aged 4 to 7 years. The results showed that the use of information and communication technology, in the forms of Ipad and mobile phones can have a positive as well as negative impact on the children’s behavior. When playing a gadget, children tend to play intensively and with a high frequency. It is interesting to note that at an early age the children already have the skills to use gadget features, and they can concentrate on the game for quite a long time. Another positive impact is the improved ability of conversational English by children, due to frequent exposure to many English programs. The negative impacts are the tendency of children to be selfish when sharing gadgets with other children, and tendency to delay their routine obligations. Parents needs to control the use of gadgets by children so that it brings more positive impacts than negative consequences.

The development of the times was followed by technological developments as well as the consumptive behavior of electronic devices such as smartphones. This technological progress has two impacts, namely positive and negative impacts. The positive impact is that humans get ease in accessing information, connecting with others quickly through social networks. The negative impact of smartphone usage on elementary school children is excessive use, plus there is no healthy control mechanism both at school and at home. The purpose of this paper is to focus on relevant Christian religious education without having to reject the progress of the times for students so that the problem of smartphone addiction can be anticipated early on. This research uses descriptive method and case study with a qualitative approach.

Hierarchical loyalty programs award elevated customer status (e.g., “elite membership”) to consumers who meet a predefined spending level. However, if a customer subsequently falls short of the required spending level, firms commonly revoke that status. The authors investigate the impact of such customer demotion on loyalty intentions toward the firm. Building on prospect theory and emotions theory, the authors hypothesize that changes in customer status have an asymmetric negative effect, such that the negative impact of customer demotion is stronger than the positive impact of status increases. An experimental scenario study provides evidence that loyalty intentions are indeed lower for demoted customers than for those who have never been awarded a preferred status, meaning that hierarchical loyalty programs can drive otherwise loyal customers away from a firm. A field study using proprietary sales data from a different industry context demonstrates the robustness of the negative impact of customer demotion. The authors test the extent to which design variables of hierarchical loyalty programs may attenuate the negative consequences of status demotions with a second experimental scenario study and present an analytical model that links status demotion to customer equity to aid managerial decision making.

The term immigration means and individual or a group of individuals leave their country and intending not to return and to abandon its nationality and going to another country to settle in and obtain its nationality. Legal immigration has both positive and negative impacts on the nationality of the immigrant. As for the positive impact, the immigrant shall obtain a new nationality namely the nationality of the Country of Diaspora after staying there for a period of time stipulated by its laws in order to make sure that the immigrant does not intend to return to their country of original nationality. In addition to that, immigrant should fulfill other conditions that the Country of Diaspora has the ultimate right to set. As for the negative impact, the immigrant loses their original nationality for obtaining the nationality of the Country of Diaspora in order to avoid the dual nationality. Legislations in some countries may stipulate that immigrant should abandon their original nationality in case of obtaining the nationality of the Country of Diaspora.

The paper discusses a two-channel impact of pharmaceutical companies upon the economy and public finance. Firstly, pharmaceutical companies predominantly impact the net value added, employment, income of people employed by their suppliers and customers as well as public finance revenue in the countries where they are based. The mechanisms of such an influence are presented in the input-output matrix (input-output analysis) that shows how output from one industrial sector in the economy may become an input to another industrial sector. The input-output model was developed by Leontief and earned him the Nobel Prize. This kind of influence upon the Polish economy has been illustrated with the case study of the Sanofi company. Secondly, pharmaceutical products improve the effectiveness of medical treatment, by which they contribute to the higher standard of living and economic growth. In this part of investigation into the impact of pharmaceutical companies upon the economy the key method consists in calculating indirect costs, that is, the lost productivity (lost GDP). Non-generated GDP as well as the negative impact of diseases and the treatment thereof on public finance can be significantly reduced by using more effective pharmaceutical products. This second channel through which pharmaceutical companies exert influence on the economy has been illustrated with an example of economic consequences calculated from the social viewpoint for three gynaecological–oncology diseases. Our calculations for both channels in this exercise have led us to conclude that a pharmaceutical company positively influences its business partners and the economy while by improving the health of the population it exerts a positive impact upon the economy and public finance.
