Landscape management requires spatially interpolated data, whose outcomes are strictly related to models and geostatistical parameters adopted. This paper aimed to implement and compare different spatial interpolation algorithms, both geostatistical and deterministic, of rainfall data in New Zealand. The spatial interpolation techniques used to produce finer-scale monthly rainfall maps were inverse distance weighting (IDW), ordinary kriging (OK), kriging with external drift (KED), and ordinary cokriging (COK). Their performance was assessed by the cross-validation and visual examination of the produced maps. The results of the cross-validation clearly evidenced the usefulness of kriging in the spatial interpolation of rainfall data, with geostatistical methods outperforming IDW. Results from the application of different algorithms provided some insights in terms of strengths and weaknesses and the applicability of the deterministic and geostatistical methods to monthly rainfall. Based on the RMSE values, the KED showed the highest values only in April, whereas COK was the most accurate interpolator for the other 11 months. By contrast, considering the MAE, the KED showed the highest values in April, May, June and July, while the highest values have been detected for the COK in the other months. According to these results, COK has been identified as the best method for interpolating rainfall distribution in New Zealand for almost all months. Moreover, the cross-validation highlights how the COK was the interpolator with the best least bias and scatter in the cross-validation test, with the smallest errors.

Abstract Spatial interpolation methods usually differ in their underlying mathematical concepts, each with inherent advantages and drawbacks depending on the properties of data. This paper, therefore, aims to compare and evaluate the performances of well-established interpolation techniques for estimating monthly rainfall data in Thailand. The selected methods include the inverse distance-based method, multiple linear regression (MLR), artificial neural networks (ANN), and ordinary kriging (OK). The technique of searching nearest stations is additionally imposed for some aforementioned schemes. The k -fold cross-validation method is exploited to assess the efficiency of each method, then the metric scores, RMSE, and MAE are used for comparisons. The results suggest the ANN might be the least favorite as it underperforms in many folds. While the OK method provides the most accurate prediction, the inverse distance weighting (IDW), particularly inverse exponential weighting (IEW), and MLR are considerably comparative. Overall, IEW is plausible for monthly rainfall estimation of Thailand because it is less computationally expensive than the OK and its flexible computation.

Non-linear characteritics in rainfall allow volatility clustering. This condition occurs in Ambon City with seasonal rainfall patterns. The aims of this research are to find the best model and to forecast monthly rainfall in Ambon City using heteroscedasticity model. This research examines secondary data from BMKG for monthly rainfall data in Ambon City from January 2005 – December 2018. The data is divided into two parts. First part, is called in-sample data, consist of data form January 2005 – December 2017. Second part, is called out-sample data, consist data from Januari 2018 – December 2018. The research used SARIMA–GARCH to model the data. The results are the  is the best model and the residual model satisfied assumptions of normality, white noise, and there is no ARCH effect. The MAPE value in simulation using in-sample data is 0.73%. On the other side, the MAPE value of forecast results is 30%.

Do all learners make the same restudy decisions, or is there heterogeneity within the population? The present study combines three previously published datasets and uses latent profile analysis to determine if subpopulations of learners can be identified that make different restudy decisions. Based on multiple fit indices, cross-validation, and theoretical consideration, a 4-cluster model was selected. Two clusters of learners differentiate items based on their current knowledge focusing on either known or unknown items for restudy, whereas two clusters do not distinguish between known and unknown items and instead choose to restudy almost all or almost known of the items, regardless of whether they were retrieved correctly. Additional auxiliary variable analyses revealed that learners who chose to focus their restudy on unknown information make more accurate restudy decisions than the other clusters. Implications for future exploration of student restudy decisions and the need to explore heterogeneity are discussed.

Previously we reported that tannic acid is a very effective fixative for proteins including polypeptides. Especially, in the cross section of microtubules, thirteen submits in A-tubule and eleven in B-tubule could be observed very clearly. An elastic fiber could be demonstrated very clearly, as an electron opaque, homogeneous fiber. However, tannic acid did not penetrate into the deep portion of the tissue-block. So we tried Catechin. This shows almost the same chemical natures as that of proteins, as tannic acid. Moreover, we thought that catechin should have two active-reaction sites, one is phenol,and the other is catechole. Catechole site should react with osmium, to make Os- black. Phenol-site should react with peroxidase existing perhydroxide.

The Greenhouse Effect acts to slow the escape of infrared radiation to space, and hence warms the atmosphere. The oceans derive almost all of their thermal energy from the sun, and none from infrared radiation in the atmosphere. The thermal energy stored by the oceans is transported globally and released after a range of different time periods. The release of thermal energy from the oceans modifies the behaviour of atmospheric circulation, and hence varies climate. Based on ocean behaviour, New Zealand can expect weather patterns similar to those from 1890-1922 and another Little Ice Age may develop this century.

Although St. Basil did not live 50 years, the topic of the old age appears in his works quite often. On the other hand, it is clear that Basil does not discuss this issue in one par­ticular work or in the longer argumentation. The fragmentary statements about old age can be found in almost all his works, but most of them can be found in the correspondence of Basil. In this paper we present the most important ad the most interesting aspect of teach­ing of Basil the Great. As these certificates show that the bishop of Caesarea looked at the old age maturely, rationally estimated passage of time, which very often makes a man different. He experienced it, for example as a spiritual and physical suffering, which often were connected with his person. He saw a lot of aspect of the old age, especially its advan­tages – spiritual maturity and wisdom. What is more, he pointed also to passage of time, which leads a man to eternity, which should be prepared to, regardless how old he is. In his opinion fear is not seen opinions of St. Basil present really Christian way of thinking, well-balanced and calm.
