This paper presents a new three-phase battery charger integrated with the propulsion system of an electric vehicle. The propulsion system consists of a dual-inverter topology connected to an induction motor via open windings. The electrical vehicles (EV) batteries are divided by two inverters. This will result in a drive with multilevel characteristics reducing the total harmonic distortion (THD) of the voltage applied to the motor. The modularity of the multilevel inverter will be maintained since two classical three-phase inverters are used. The charger will be fed by a three-phase high power factor current source rectifier. The motor windings will take the role of the DC-inductor required by the rectifier. In this way, an intermediate storage element between the grid and the batteries of the vehicle exist. For the control system of the battery charger, we propose the use of the instantaneous power theory and a sliding mode controller for the three-phase charger input currents. Finally, to verify the behavior and characteristics of the proposed integrated battery charger and control system, several tests are be presented.

This paper presents a review of DSTATCOM Topologies and power quality control Techniques. The used topologies are Three-phase Three-wire and Three-phase four-wire and control techniques are Instantaneous reactive power theory(IRP), Synchronous Reference Frame Theory(SRF), Model Predictive Control (MPC), Sliding mode control(SMC), Adaptive Neuro-fuzzy interface systems(ANFIS) and Artificial intelligence based controllers. These control techniques are used to mitigate the reactive power compensation, load balancing, Neutral current compensation, harmonics reduction and maintains the Total harmonic Distortion in IEEE519 standards. Performance investigated in Single-phase Distribution systems by connecting with STATCOM and without DSTATCOM in MATLAB/SIMULINK

The paper suggests a control system of a three-phase power factor corrector. The study of the control system operation is carried out and the expressions for calculating the permissible values of error amplifier factors are obtained. The influence of the error amplifier parameters on phase current quality is investigated. The dependence of total harmonic distortion input current on a combination of error amplifier parameters is obtained at a given value of power factor. The conditions under which the total harmonic distortion input current has the minimum value are found out. This article is of interest to power electronics engineers, who are aimed at developing a three-phase power factor corrector.

In order to reduce the costs of implementing the radial position control system of a three-phase bearingless machine with split winding, this article proposes a driving method that uses only two phases of the system instead of the three-phase traditional one. It reduces from six to four the number of inverter legs, drivers, sensors, and current controllers necessary to drive and control the system. To justify the proposal, this new power and control configuration was applied to a 250 W machine controlled by a digital signal processor (DSP). The results obtained demonstrated that it is possible to carry out the radial position control through two phases, without loss of performance in relation to the conventional three-phase drive and control system.

This thesis presents the introduction, analysis and experimental verification of the six-pulse SCR rectifier and multi-pulse SCR rectifiers. As a fundamental three-phase controllable ac-dc converter, the six-pulse SCR rectifier is widely used in industry. However, it generates high Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) in the line current. One of the solutions is to use multi-pulse rectifiers. Multi-pulse rectifiers could be classified into the 12-, 18-, and 24-pulse configurations. Application examples include high voltage direct current transmission systems, high power battery chargers and load commutated current source inverter powered motor drives. In this thesis, the six-, 12-, 18- and 24-pulse SCR rectifiers with inductive and capacitive loads are introduced. The line current THD and the input PF of various rectifiers are investigated. The principle of the harmonic elimination through phase-shifting transforms is analyzed by Fourer analysis and positive/negative sequence analysis. The experimental verification is accomplished on a prototype of the 12-pulse SCR recitifier.

A new integrated guidance and control (IGC) law is investigated for a homing missile with an impact angle against a ground target. Firstly, a control-oriented model with impact angle error of the IGC system in the pitch plane is formulated by linear coordinate transformation according to the motion kinematics and missile dynamics model. Secondly, an IGC law is proposed to satisfy the impact angle constraint and to improve the rapidity of the guidance and control system by combining the sliding mode control method and nonlinear extended disturbance observer technique. Thirdly, stability of the closed-loop guidance and control system is proven based on the Lyapunov stability theory, and the relationship between the accuracy of the impact angle and the estimate errors of nonlinear disturbances is derived from stability of the sliding mode. Finally, simulation results confirm that the proposed IGC law can improve the performance of the missile guidance and control system against a ground target.

A generalized three-phase multilevel current-source inverter (MCSI) topology is proposed by implanting the generalized N-level current cells into a three-phase MCSI topology which is derived from the three-phase multilevel voltage-source inverter (MVSI) topology through dual conversion. In the generalized three-phase MCSI topology, each intermediate dc-link current level can be automatically balanced without adding any external circuits, thus a true multilevel structure is provided. Output current of each phase is independently modulated because of being supplied with two DC current-sources. This allows the wealth of existing knowledge relating to the operations, modulations and control strategies of multilevel VSI to be immediately applied to such multilevel CSI. Simulation results of 5-level and 7-level CSI systems are presented to verify the proposed three-phase MCSI topology.

The oil-gas-water three-phase flow experimental apparatus in key laboratory of process monitoring and control in Tianjin University is a set of indoor small experimental device, which can simulate oil wells, simulate the pipeline transport of multiphase flow and study the experiment of multiphase flow. The device includes energy power dynamic systems, measurement pipelines systems, multiphase flow test pipelines system, control valves, sampling and control system platform. The software of the control system is mixed programming between the configuration software MCGS and the Visual Basic.

This paper proposes a battery charger solution based on the Zeta DC/DC converter to provide a general interface between batteries and microgrid direct current (DC) buses. This solution enables to interface batteries and DC buses with voltage conversion ratios lower, equal, and higher than one using the same components and without redesigning the control system, thus ensuring global stability. The converter controller is designed to require only the measurement of a single inductor current, instead of both inductors currents, without reducing the system flexibility and stability. The controller stability is demonstrated using the sliding-mode theory, and a design procedure for the parameters is developed to ensure a desired bus performance. Finally, simulations and experiments validate the performance of the proposed solution under realistic operation conditions.
