Due to the negative consequences of being bullied and the increase in cyberbullying among adolescents, there is a need for evidence-based programs to prevent and intervene in these types of peer violence. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of the Prev@cib bullying and cyberbullying program, drawing on three theoretical frameworks: the ecological model, empowerment theory, and the model of personal and social responsibility. The Prev@cib program was evaluated using a repeated-measures pre-post-test design with an experimental group and a control group. The sample consisted of 660 adolescents between 12 and 17 years old (M = 13.58, SD = 1.26), randomly assigned to the experimental and control groups. Repeated-measures ANOVA of pre-post-test scores were conducted. Results showed a significant decrease in bullying and victimization and cyberbullying and cybervictimization in the experimental group, compared to the control group, indicating that the Prev@cib program is effective in reducing bullying and cyberbullying. Taking into account the harmful effects of these types of violence, the results have important implications in the prevention of these behaviors because they provide scientific evidence of the program’s effectiveness.

Recognizing that students benefit when they receive autonomy-supportive teaching, the current study tested the parallel hypothesis that teachers themselves would benefit from giving autonomy support. Twenty-seven elementary, middle, and high school physical education teachers (20 males, 7 females) were randomly assigned either to participate in an autonomy-supportive intervention program (experimental group) or to teach their physical education course with their existing style (control group) within a three-wave longitudinal research design. Manipulation checks showed that the intervention was successful, as students perceived and raters scored teachers in the experimental group as displaying a more autonomy-supportive and less controlling motivating style. In the main analyses, ANCOVA-based repeated-measures analyses showed large and consistent benefits for teachers in the experimental group, including greater teaching motivation (psychological need satisfaction, autonomous motivation, and intrinsic goals), teaching skill (teaching efficacy), and teaching well-being (vitality, job satisfaction, and lesser emotional and physical exhaustion). These findings show that giving autonomy support benefits teachers in much the same way that receiving it benefits their students.

The aim of this research is to investigate the effect of the Dealing with Homophobia Psycho-Education Program on homophobia levels of psychological counselor candidates. This research was conducted with a mixed model and utilized quantitative and qualitative methods. 2 (experimental and control groups) x 3 (pre-test, post-test, follow-up) research design which is a type of quasi-experimental design was used and content analysis was applied to the data obtained via interviews. The study was conducted with a total of 24 psychological counselor candidates, 12 in the experimental group and, 12 in the control group. The Homophobia Scale was used to determine the homophobia levels of psychological counselor candidates. The Dealing with Homophobia Psycho-Education Program was developed by the researcher. In order to determine the effectiveness of the program, The Two-Way Analysis of Variance with Repeated Measures was used. As a result of the research, it was determined that the Dealing with Homophobia Psycho-Education Program is effective in decreasing the levels of homophobia of the psychological counselor candidates. Also, according to the participant's views, it was determined that the psycho-education program was effective in decreasing homophobia and caused changes in attitudes. The importance and necessity of using the program on psychological counselor education are discussed.

This study aimed to determine whether the levels of career adaptability resources could be increased through the use of a portfolio writing strategy. Based on a mixed methods approach, the study used the design quasi-experimental, with two independent groups and with repeated measures, together with a focus group. Forty students (17 from the experimental group; 23 from the control group) in university-work transition completed the Portuguese version of the Career Adaptation Scale. The pre-test survey was administered at the beginning of the semester of the curricular unit of personal and professional development project (PPDP) in both groups. This was followed, in the experimental group, by a fourteen-week portfolio writing intervention, under the PPDP. In the control group, the PPDP followed the traditional expository teaching methodology. After completing the intervention procedure, post-test research was conducted byboth groups. Five students from the experimental group also participated in a focus group of feedback on the writing of portfolios under the PPDP. The results revealedthat writing the portfolios contributed to a career adaptability resources increase as well as for the confidence, self-knowledge and knowledge of the market opportunities of these students. The use of portfolios in the PPDP unit course is recommended.

Abstract It has been proposed that switching cost deficit in executive control (Velichkovsky et al., 2020) could be used as an early marker for abnormal aging processes. Although research with technology-based intervention has shown benefits in improving cognitive performance with older adults, the overall results are mixed (Ge et al, 2018). This study aims to investigate whether computerized intervention program (e.g., DISC) would help to reduce the switching costs deficits in mild-to-moderate cognitively-impaired older adults (MCI-OA). Fourteen MCI-OA (79.75±6,94) and 9 cognitively-healthy OA (age 77,25±6,9) were randomly assigned to an experimental group or a control group (a final sample size of 30 MCI and 40 cognitive-healthy older adults would be ready by conference time). All participants first completed a set of cognitive tasks as part of a larger study (i.e., pre-tests) (e.g., MMSE, Ravens, cued-base Task Switching Task). The experimental group then played cognitive games on a touch-screen tablet for about 30-40 minutes per session with a total of 24 sessions over 8-12 weeks. The control group continued their daily activity as per usual for 8-12 weeks. Participants were then asked to complete the same set of cognitive tasks again post-test. Control group MCI-OA performed worse for the local costs in the cued Task Switching task (p<.05), whereas experimental group MCI-OA maintained their performance (p=.40) post-test compared to pre-test. All cognitively-healthy OA did not show any difference in performance irrespective of condition. This suggests that the DISC program could be an effective tool in slowing down the abnormal accelerated aging process.

The present study examined the effectiveness of nonviolent communication (NVC) workshop on marital adjustment. The hypothesis was receiving nonviolent communication (NVC) workshop has positive impact on marital adjustment. The independent variable was NVC workshop and the dependent variable was marital adjustment score. For conducting this research, repeated measures design was followed and 20 Bangladeshi married people participated in it. The results have shown that there was a statistically significant difference (F = 16.790, p < 0.05) in marital adjustment score of experimental group over the three time periods and pairwise comparisons indicate that there was significant difference between pretest and post-test and also between pretest and follow- up test at the 0.05 level. Results also have shown that, there was statistically significant difference of marital adjustment score between experimental and control group in posttest (t = 4.276, p < 0.05) and follow-up test (t = 4.176, p < 0.05). Thus, after receiving NVC workshop the marital adjustment score of experimental group increased significantly (F = 16.79, p < 0.001) in post-test measure and also remain constant in follow-up, whereas the marital adjustment score of control group had no significant change. RESUMENEl objetivo de este estudio es determinar los efectos del programa de intervención Descubriendo Mis emociones cuyo objetivo es reconocer y expresar las emociones positivas y morales, y el manejo de emociones negativas en un grupo de niños/as en edad preescolar de Lima. El estudio ha seguido un diseño de investigación cuasi experimental con grupo de control con pre test y post test. La muestra estuvo conformada por 125 participantes con una edad promedio de 5 años (95 del grupo experimental y 30 del control). Se determinó la evidencia basada en la validez de contenido, de constructo y confiabilidad del instrumento. El programa se organizó en diez  sesiones semanales de aproximadamente dos horas cada una, mediante la aplicación de técnicas participativas. Al inicio de la intervención, no se encontraron diferencias significativas en los puntajes obtenidos por los niños/as que conformaron el grupo control y el grupo experimental. En el análisis intragrupos, los dos grupos experimentales mostraron leves diferencias; en el análisis entre-grupos, se detectaron claras diferencias entre el grupo control y los grupos experimentales; en el análisis clinicométrico, hubo un mayor cambio confiable y clínico en los grupos experimentales. Se discuten las implicaciones de un programa orientado al reconocimiento de emociones en niños/as. ABSTRACT The goal of this study is to determine the effects of an intervention program discovering my Emotions for recognizing and expressing positive, negative and moral emotions. It was conducted with a group of preschooler’s children in Lima. The study followed a quasi-experimental research design with pre-test and post-test control groups. The study sample comprised 125 participants with an average age of 5 years (95 in the experimental group and 30 in the control group), through intentional sample. Content validity, construct validity and reliability of the instrument were determined. The program was organized in ten weekly sessions of approximately two hours per session by applying participatory techniques. In the pretest, no significant differences were found in the scores obtained from the control group and the experimental group. In the intra-test group analysis, the two experimental groups showed slight differences. In the posttest, clear differences were detected between the control group and the experimental groups; in the clinical metric analysis, there was a greater reliable and clinical change in the experimental groups. The strategies, activities and participatory techniques are analysed, the regular attendance of the participants, among other aspects and the implications of the program oriented to the recognition of emotions in children are discussed. Pre-school children who participated in the program were able to recognize and express positive, moral and negative emotions. This demonstrates the effectiveness of the program and verifies the hypothesis formulated.

The aim of this study is to search core exercise&rsquo;s affect which is done regulary with female students for 8 weeks on students&rsquo; balance programs. 20 volunteer female participants who were students of Osman Nuri Yalman High school (ten of them were experimental group and ten of them were control group) were included in the study. In the survey, experimental method with pretest-posttest desing was used. Core exercise was applied on experimental group three days a week during 8 weeks on the other hand no exercise was done with control group. SPSS (Ver.20) packet program was used while analyzing data statistically. Before the analysis, normality distribution was determined by being used skewness-kurtosis and hitogram and significance level was controlled according to the greenhouse-geisser and two-way repeated measures of anova values. According to the results of the survey, significant difference was found between two groups&rsquo; pre-test&ndash;post-test balance values (F(2.69, 48.36) = 42.25, p &lt; .05). The post-test balance values of the group in 8 directions increased significantly. When the pos-test balance values between the two groups were compared, the post- test balance values of the experimantal group participants were significantly higher than the control group participants (F(1.18) = 6.20, p &lt; .05). Consequently; it can be said that core training applied to the high school level female students three days a week for 8 weeks can have a positive effect on balance performance.

IntroductionKayser-Jones (1981) described infantilization as one of the four most frequent types of violence in nursing homes. Older people perceive infantilization as disrespectful and patronizing. In professionals, it can lead to protective behaviors that reduce autonomy and generate more dependency. Despite the importance of this phenomenon, the interventions are scarce and show methodological limitations.ObjectiveThis study analyzed the efficacy of a psychoeducation program for the prevention of infantilization in professionals working in nursing homes. The sample included 154 direct-care workers. The experimental group (N=111) attended a psychoeducational group intervention program while the control group (N=43) did not attend any intervention program. We assessed the infantilized practices the professionals recognized they conducted and the ones observed in the institution before and after the intervention. The intervention lasted 6 hours and included four sessions distributed in two days. These sessions aimed to reduce negative stereotypes, preventing infantilized communication patterns and the use of behaviors or practices that are frequently used with children. We also offered professionals alternative practices that recognize autonomy, decision-making and respect older adults´ dignity and uniqueness. To analyze data, we conducted Repeated measures of ANOVA and one-way ANCOVAs.Results:The scores of infantilization in the experimental group significantly decreased from pre-intervention to post-intervention in the professional, F(1, 85) = 37.184, p = .01, partial η2 = .030, and in the institution, F(1, 84) = 32.128, p = .01, partial η2 = .277, while the control group did not show any changes. There was a statistically significant difference in post-intervention between the experimental and the control group when participants scored their infantilization practices, F(1, 115) = 5.175, p = .03, partial η2 = .043, and infantilization practices observed in the institution, F(1, 115) = 5.810, p = .018, partial η2 = .048.Conclusion:These results reflect the importance of developing interventions focused on preventing infantilization, methodologically rigorous, in which professionals´ training and education are considered key pieces to generate a culture of change. Vipassana Meditation is measured to be the embodiment of the tradition from 2500 years back. It is non-scientific technique of self-observation which leads to progressive improved insight and positive life satisfaction attributes, as also, inculcations of family, friends, school, living environment and self life-satisfaction. The goal of this research was to study the effectiveness of Vipassana meditation on life satisfaction. In this study 120 student participants (experimental and control) were selected. The experimental group was given Ten Days (ten hours per day and total hours taken was three hundred hours) Vipassana meditation course. After meditation course the Satisfaction with life scale was administered to experimental and control group immediately. The effect of intervention on experimental group was studied by comparing with control group in pre-post test phases. For analysis of data the GLM- Repeated measures of ANOVA was used. Findings indicate that Vipassana meditation had positive effect on the level of life satisfaction.

Background: Some scientists consider emotional divorce as the first step in the divorce process, which means that the marital relationship is declining. Research shows the harmful physical and psychological effects of emotional divorce on couples. The present research was carried out to show the effectiveness of Integrative Behavioral Couple Therapy (IBCT) on emotional divorce among couples. Methods: This was a quasi-experimental design study with a control group, including a pre-test, post-test and a 45-day follow up. The statistical population of this study was all couples referred to the family therapy clinic of Shahid Beheshti Psychiatric Hospital in Zanjan in 2020. Twenty couples were selected based on a score of eight or higher in a 24-item two-choice questionnaire on emotional divorce which was developed by Guttman in 1998. Next, participants were randomly divided into two groups of experimental and control. The experimental group received 11 weekly sessions of IBCT and each intervention session lasted for 120 minutes and the control group did not receive any intervention. Repeated measures ANOVA was used and data were analyzed by SPSS software V18. Results: The results of ANOVA showed that there was a significant difference between  the control and experimental groups in the pre-test, post-test and follow-up (p<0.001). Therefore, it can be concluded that IBCT has reduced the emotional divorce of couples in the experimental group. Conclusion: Results suggest that IBCT can be used as a treatment of choice for reduction of emotional divorce.
