The present study is focused on spatial modelling of a kaolin deposit in Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic, and the methodical procedure of development, evaluation and visualization of a 3D model are described step by step. The implementation of this methodology is performed in Visual Studio 2019 with use of the Surfer and Voxler objects from Golden Software. This methodology combined with the newly developed software (Kaolin_A and Kaolin_Viz programs) allow a user to create a variant dynamic model for the same or similar types of deposits. It enables a quick update of the model when changing the input data, based on the new mining exploration or when changing the modelling parameters. The presented approach leads to a more advanced evaluation of deposits, including various estimates of reserves according to pre-specified usability conditions. The efficiency of the developed methodology and the software for the evaluation of the deposit are demonstrated on the kaolin deposit Jimlíkov-East, located near the village Jimlíkov about 5 km west of Karlovy Vary in the Czech Republic.

The aim of this article is to show the possibilities of spatial modelling and analysing of assumptions of tourism development in the Czech Republic with the objective to make decision-making processes in tourism easier and more efficient (for companies, clients as well as destination managements). The development and placement of tourism depend on the factors (conditions) that influence its application in specific areas. These factors are usually divided into three groups: selective, localization and realization. Tourism is inseparably connected with space – countryside. The countryside can be modelled and consecutively analysed by the means of geographical information technologies. With the help of spatial modelling and following analyses the localization and realization conditions in the regions of the Czech Republic have been evaluated. The best localization conditions have been found in the Liberecký region. The capital city of Prague has negligible natural conditions; however, those social ones are on a high level. Next, the spatial analyses have shown that the best realization conditions are provided by the capital city of Prague. Then the Central-Bohemian, South-Moravian, Moravian-Silesian and Karlovarský regions follow. The development of tourism destination is depended not only on the localization and realization factors but it is basically affected by the level of local destination management. Spatial modelling can help destination managers in decision-making processes in order to optimal use of destination potential and efficient targeting their marketing activities.

The purpose of this article is to describe the construction of the bridge spanning the Chomutovka river valley as a part of the road I/27 bypassing the village of Velemyšleves. The investor of this project is Ředitelství silnic a dálnic ČR, správa Chomutov (Directorate for Roads and Motorways of the Czech Republic, division Chomutov). The general constructor of the entire project is the association of companies Silnice Group a.s. and AZ sanace a.s., the constructor of the foundations and the pile foundation is AZ Sanace a.s. and the constructor of the bridge is SMP CZ, a.s. The project execution documentation was carried out by the planning agency NOVÁK & PARTNER s.r.o. The designer and lead construction engineer of the project is Doc. Ing. Lukáš Vráblík, Ph.D.The structure is a seven-span bridge with a total length of 537 m. The load bearing structure, constructed using cantilever casting and supporting construction, consists of a seven-span continuous box girder with two frame connections. The whole structure is to be opened for public use by the end of this year.

Research Highlights: One of the priorities of the European Commission is to build up an effective circular economy based on recycling and multiple use of materials. Wood biomass is a renewable raw material and can be used several times in a cascading sequence. Each country has a unique situation regarding the availability and utilization of wood sources. Background and Objectives: The objective of this study was to analyze wood flow in the Czech Republic using the cascading principle of biomass use. The specific situation in the Czech Republic lies in a lack of valid and reliable input data from official statistics. Therefore, the reverse input method was applied. Materials and Methods: Input data analyses of roundwood sources and foreign trade were based on official statistical data. The calculation of raw wood volume consumption in primary processing was performed based on the data after our own correction and recalculation. It was then possible to build up a basic model of multi-stage cascade wood use. The input volume of roundwood was divided among all types of primary processing production using conversion factors. Results: Cascading use of wood (CUW) showed the level of efficiency of the resource. Official statistical input data and the reversed input data regarding raw wood volume entering wood processing revealed differences at a level of 27%. The overall CUW in the Czech Republic indicates a high rate of wood use in primary processing with low added value and in generating energy. Conclusions: The reverse input method reveals the real situation of wood consumption irrespective of the level of official statistical data. It is suitable to apply in an environment of incomplete or incorrect input data. CUW in Czechia showed an opportunity for increasing the efficiency of wood utilization. The structure of wood use needs to be optimized towards creating greater added value.

Consumption of wine in the Czech Republic has a growing tendency, representing 15.4 litres per capita in 1995 and 20.0 litres per capita in 2012. The goal of this paper is an analysis of the development of consumer demand for wine in the Czech Republic based on the estimation of elasticity coefficients derived from the constructed dynamic model. The overall development in the period 1948&ndash;2012 is demonstrated through the linear trend: QCW<sub>T</sub> = &ndash;340.77 + 0.1788&times;T + u<sub>T</sub>. The growing consumption of wine was examined in relation to the development of the prices of wine, beer, and rum in the period 1991&ndash;2012. The achieved negative values of the own price elasticity coefficients (ranging from &ndash;0.2957 to &ndash;0.1624) suggest, that there worked normal price reactions. Cross price elasticity coefficients of the gross demand for wine showed complementarity between the consumption of wine and beer or wine and rum. The cross price elasticity of the gross demand for wine related to the price of 10&deg; beer was &ndash;0.2757 in average, and &ndash;0.2074 in the case of rum. &nbsp; &nbsp;

A topsoil-dwelling Eastern Alpine terrestrial snail Aegopinella ressmanni (Westerlund, 1883) was found for the first time in the Czech Republic at nine sites in E Bohemia. Abundant populations of the species occurred in wet habitats of the Tichá Orlice River valley between the village of Hnátnice and the town of Brandýs nad Orlicí. These Czech populations were found 250 km far from the known northernmost sites in Germany and Austria.

Rural villages are the sole subjects in rural area which integrate all elements acting in the rural area to one functional whole. They can be therefore taken as the pivotal element of rural development. The research was done in 2004 and was based on the search for rural villages&rsquo; characteristics and exploration of the elements of regional differentiation. The project results from the presumption of difference between the rural villages given by their size, location in specific areas or on exposed roads, distance from civic centers etc. It is supposed that these characteristics have specific and significant connections with such phenomenon as the level of unemployment, the level of civic and technical facilities in villages, the activity of inhabitants and the village itself, etc. The challenge was to define problem characteristics of rural areas, which mirror significant regional differences, structure and interconnectedness of these differences and their importance for future regional development. Interdependence of particular indicators was explored by statistical evaluation.

<p><strong>Abstract.</strong> Within the framework of the project “Vltava – transformation of historical landscape as a result of floods, dams creation and land-use changes along with cultural and social activities in the river neighbourhood” funded by the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic, we deal with many aspects of the Vltava River, considering the significant changes that have taken place in its history. In this paper, we are focusing on the reconstruction of the historic Vltava valley as of 1950s, the period just before the construction of the dam reservoirs cascade on the Vltava River. The aim is to create DTM, which will be the basis of visualizations and analyses of the old river bed.</p>

Ranunculus pedatus is a Eurasian species with a northern distribution edge in southern Slovakia. In the nineties of the 20th century, it was assumed that the species probably occurs only near Štúrovo. Occurrence in the Hron and Ipeľ basins and several localities in the Podunajská nížina lowland between Komárno and Štúrovo was considered historical. Our research was conducted in the field and herbarium collections of 15 herbaria in Austria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, and Slovakia. Except for the well-known occurrence on salt habitats north of Štúrovo, we confirmed the recent occurrence of R. pedatus in Štúrovo town, around Chľaba village and in Ipeľ Basin (Pastovce, Tupá). The new, easternmost Slovak locality was found near the village of Koláre. Recently, 30% of all known sites were confirmed, so we propose reclassifying the species in Slovak Red List from the category critically endangered (CR) to the category endangered (EN). It occurs in salty meadows of the alliance Festucion pseudovinae (class Festuco-Puccinellietea) and in mesic meadows of alliance Arrhenatherion elatioris and Deschampsion cespitosae (class Molinio-Arrhenatheretea).

The paper analyses consumer demand for wine and beer in the Czech Republic in the period of 1991–2013. The objective of this research was to evaluate the elasticity of consumption of wine and beer in reaction to a change of prices and further to a change in the level of a household income. Based on the dynamic models of the gross demand for wine and beer there were determined the coefficients of direct and cross price elasticity, and income elasticity coefficients. In accordance with the identified sizes, respectively, after evaluating their statistical significance, there was carried out the economic analysis of observed demand functions. Analysis of demand functions has shown that the consumptions of wine and beer by the Czech households were not linked on a statistically significant level, in the examined period. Dynamic model of the gross demand for wine showed a statistically insignificant sensitivity of wine consumption to a change of the household income. Wine consumption of Czech households was significantly formed only by its price. Dynamic model of the gross demand for beer has shown that beer consumption by the Czech households responded significantly only to change in household income. Whereas in the case of wine, there was identified an influence of previous consumption on the current one, this was not confirmed in the case of beer.
