The results of empirical analyses confirm that analysed unsystematic factors, the Stock-to-Flow index (S2F), and information on the Bitcoin (BTC) are directly correlated with BTC values. These results are expected and in line with the economic theory; however, this research paper aimed to investigate the impact of unsystematic factors on the value of decentralised virtual cryptocurrency BTC. Its aim was also to analyse the reasons for significant oscillations of market values in relation to the S2F and S2FX model and thus confirm the reliability of these models in the estimation of BTC value. The research further confirms the strong influence of non-technical information directly linked with the BTC. The limitations of this paper are the lack of possibilities for examining the impact of non-technical information affecting the Bitcoin price deviation regarding the S2F model. In addition to all mentioned limitations, the research results indicate the relevance of the S2F and S2FX models and show a strong impact of (half) the information on the value of cryptocurrencies.

Celebrities are famous people who often belong to entertainment industry. They are known to have a strong influence on people’s behavior. In the digital age this impact has expanded to include the online arena. Celebrities increasingly utilize Instagram, an online social network, to promote commercial products. It is important to learn to what extent people are influenced by this type of promotion and what sort of people are likely to be swayed by it. Research has demonstrated that people’s personalities have a strong impact on their behaviors online. However, until now, these investigations have not included the relationship between personality and the degree of celebrity influence through social networks. This study examines how much the personality of a user is related to the degree to which he or she is influenced by these Celebrity Instagram messages. Participants comprised 121 students (34 males, 87 females). They answered questionnaires which focused on their personality and were asked about the degree of influence celebrities exerted upon them through Instagram. Results showed that people who are characterized as being open and having an internal locus of control are more resistant to such celebrity influences. This paper demonstrates that the personality of a recipient is likely to influence the degree of impact that a celebrity endorsement is likely to produce. The implications of these results are discussed.

In this study, research materials for the spatial concentration and utilization sharing of research equipment were surveyed, and then the effect factor and the effectiveness were analyzed based on the research results. Also, information regarding research result creation was provided through research equipment utilization sharing. The research results of 100 researchers (25 national research institutes in the Ministry of Science, ICT (Information and Communications Technologies), and Future Planning of South Korea) were chosen for the effect analysis. For the study results, the medicine and pharmacy researchers showed better performance in research equipment utilization sharing than the natural science and engineering researchers. The number of research paper coauthors and the research equipment utilization sharing execution policy of research institutes influenced the rate of research equipment utilization sharing. The research field, the number of research paper coauthors, the research equipment utilization sharing execution policy of research institutes, and the research institute characteristics influenced the utilization sharing of research equipment in the research environment. Also, the utilization sharing of research equipment was statistically significantly influenced by the number of research papers and the impact factor (IF). The utilization sharing of research equipment was not statistically significantly influenced, however, by the IF mean. In this study, the quantitative performance index was found to be effective, and the qualitative performance index was found to be ineffective. In the analysis model, when the researchers followed the research equipment utilization sharing execution policy of the research institutes, the research results improved.

This article seeks to explain factors that make mediation attempts more or less likely in territorial, maritime, and river disputes. I argue that the intensity of the dispute and the salience of disputed territory have strong influence on mediation attempts. The study further examines the impact of these factors on the type of mediation strategy (directive, procedural, or communications). Hypotheses about mediation attempts are tested with the icow data set of interstate territorial, maritime, and river disputes from 1816 to 2001. Findings indicate that intensity of the dispute and salience of disputed territory have a strong impact on the selection of mediation in the first place, and second, that salience of disputed territory makes the directive strategy more likely, while intensity of the dispute makes procedural or communications strategies more likely.

Fourteen Canada Western Red Spring (CWRS) wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) cultivars grown at six Saskatchewan sites in 1995 were used to assess the impact of cultivar and environment on dough mixing properties. ANOVA showed that cultivar, environment and interactions thereof generally had highly significant effects on farinograph and Canadian short process (CSP) water absorption and mixing parameters. Most of the variance in farinograph and CSP absorption could be attributed to environment, while cultivar was the predominant contributor to farinograph dough development time and stability. Both cultivar and environment had a strong influence on CSP mixing time and mixing energy. Neither protein nor particle size index as covariate had a strong influence on the partitioning of variance. Strong significant relationships were evident among absorption parameters and among most mixing strength parameters. No strongly significant relationships were found between absorption and mixing strength parameters. Significant differences were evident among cultivar means and among station means for all parameters. The strong impact of environment on most mixing properties suggests that attention should be focused on the potential adverse impact on the uniformity of CWRS shipments due to the trend towards reduced blending among regions associated with the continued development of large high throughput primary elevators. Key words: Cultivar, environment, wheat, dough mixing properties

© 2019 Hogrefe Publishing. Personality traits have been long recognized to have a strong impact on human decision-making. In this study, a sample of 314 participants took part in an online game to investigate the impact of psychopathic traits on cooperative behavior in an iterated Prisoner's dilemma game. We found that disinhibition decreased the maintenance of cooperation in successive plays, but had no effect on moving toward cooperation after a previous defection or on the overall level of cooperation over rounds. Furthermore, our results underline the crucial importance of a good model selection procedure, showing how a poor choice of statistical model can provide misleading results.

The article aims to investigate the impact of the reflective writing paper on non- English major learners’ learning autonomy in a Vietnamese context. The data was collected by means of questionnaire, competence tests and interviews. The participants did two reflective writing papers as an intervention during the research. The research results show the possibilities for teachers to modify their teaching methods through analysis of feedback from the subjects. The findings showed that most participants appreciated the role of the reflective writing paper and they were aware of the significance of learning autonomy in their study process. The tourism sector is experiencing numerous challenges as a result of the global economic crisis. After a significant contraction in 2009, tourism rebounded strongly  in  2010  and  in  2011  the  international  tourist  arrivals  and  receipts  are projected to increase substantially. The Tourism industry is expected to show a sustained recovery in 2012. The crisis has particularly strong impact and slightly negative consequences in Bangladesh. The country is undergoing a political crisis, as well, and it seems that the forthcoming elections may be the only solution for the restoration of stability and social peace.  In addition, tourism can be the driving force behind Bangladesh economic recovery. However, for its achievement the country’s policy makers should take several measures towards restructuring and improving the sector. These measures include: enhancement of alternative forms of tourism; environmental protection; creation of quality infrastructure; and boost of competitiveness through a tourism product that offers value for money
