Analysis of vibroacoustic signals is one of the more frequently used mechanical devices diagnostic methods occurring among others in car diagnostics. Often, it happens that the most important element of the recorded course is the fundamental harmonic frequency of vibrations. Fundamental frequency indicates the main process related to the operation of the device and allows to follow its course. In the article the author's method of determining the fundamental frequency in the signal will be presented which is the subject of a patent application. Its theoretical basis and application examples were discussed comparing the accuracy of its use with the accuracy of other methods. The frequency range where the method finds application is shown. That is, where its accuracy turns out to be better than the accuracy of popular used methods to fundamental harmonic frequency determination.

The article deals with the problem of expert diagnosis of individual and personal characteristics of minors under subject. Systematic and generalized methodological approaches to the study of the parameters of self-consciousness in the context of forensic psychological examination of minors. It was determined that a mandatory component of expert research is a comparison of data on the state and characteristics of the mental development of a minor with the results of an analysis of the situation and behavior of the subject, taking into account the inter-individual variation of indicators of mental development and the peculiarity of the social situation of development. The conclusion is made about the expediency of selecting diagnostic methods in the context of the following personality characteristics: psychophysiological (implies the diagnosis of typological personality qualities of a general order, which are predominantly natural conditionality); psychological (includes determining the individual characteristics of self-consciousness, emotional sphere, anxiety, behavioral manifestations, motivation); social (orientation to the study of a real-life assessment system, which is set in the nearest microsocium of minors under the experts as a standard-reference sample and determines the tendency for the development of self-identity); sociocultural (includes the study of the system of value orientations of minors under expert and their immediate environment). It is noted that the basis of psychological diagnosis of individual psychological characteristics of the personality of minors under the expert are four basic principles that determine the construction of a psychodiagnostic study: the principle of methodical limitation, the principle of mutual verification and comparison of the results obtained among themselves, the principle of necessity-sufficiency, the principle of the relationship of diagnostic tool capabilities and depth sensing psychic reality. It was emphasized that the procedure of forensic psychological examination of minors subject (accused, witnesses, victims) is defined as a special kind of interpersonal interaction, in which the subject is assisted by psychological means in case of problems or difficulties of a communicative nature. This makes it possible not only to obtain information for expert opinions, but also relieves the psyche of minors from communication difficulties, relieves situational maladjustment, which naturally arises from the transition from spontaneous communication to targeted, planned, self-managed. The need to implement a system-integrative approach to the selection of diagnostic tools, which will increase the level of objectivity and validity of expert findings, has been determined. Key words: self-consciousness, forensic psychological examination, subject minors.

Relevance. The subject of the research is to compare different functional methods for determining the optimal position of the mandible.Purpose. To find the advantages and disadvantages of using various functional diagnostic methods to determine the optimal position of the mandible.Materials and methods. We conducted a literature review of the functional methods for determining the optimal position of the mandible in the treatment of patients with temporomandibular disorders. Nowadays different methods are used, such as anatomical and physiological method, bilateral manipulation, front deprogrammer, graphic method, aksiography, kineziography, TENS et al.Results. The method of bimanual manipulation and frontal deprogrammer determine the central relation when TMJ pathology is not expressed and the load test is negative. The graphic method evaluates the function of the temporomandibular joint, determines the optimal position of the mandible. TENS moves the lower jaw to a position of physiological rest. Kinesiography and Axiography determine the temporomandibular disorders and we can use them to dynamically monitor patients at all stages of treatment, monitor the determination of the optimal position of the mandible.Conclusion. From the results of this study, we can conclude that there are a lot of methods of functional diagnostics of TMJ, which help to determine the optimal position of the mandible. Everybody can choose their own set of methods, that let reduce the number of non-examined patients with temporomandibular disorders.

The aim of the research was to identify the most important mergers and acquisitions in the meat industry in Poland in 2015-2017 and their causes and effects. Data on transactions in the meat market in the country were obtained from Thomson Reuters database. A valuable source of information was also the subject literature and press interviews with experts in the meat industry. The analysis showed that the structure of entities on the meat market in Poland is very fragmented, which limits their competitiveness. In connection with this, the number of mergers and acquisitions increases, the aim of which is to increase the position of enterprises on the market and to achieve higher profit from combined entities. As a result of such actions on the meat market in Poland, the share of large foreign entities with a global scale of activity increases. Small and medium-sized enterprises, however, are afraid of consolidation processes because their negotiating position is weakening.

Diagnostic methods have been gaining medical recognition and social importance as innovations that can be useful to provide individuals with a diagnosis, prognosis or prediction with regard to a condition that they currently have or that they are in risk of developing. Despite the great amount of resources deployed to produce these health technologies and their potential benefits for healthcare systems and patients or prospective patients alike, their exclusive protection in the United States has faced resistance from patent examiners and courts on the basis that diagnostics constitute a dubious innovation. Inconsistent arguments used for the refusal of patent protection have led to a labyrinth where innovators in the diagnostics sector cannot reasonably expect their application or their protection after the patent is in place to stand.  This paper aims to convey the doctrine of subject matter eligibility as applied to diagnostic methods and the relevant guidelines and case law. In doing so, it aims to depict the pitfalls resulting from the general application of a non-patentability rule to diagnostics, and to suggest opportunities still available for innovators to overcome uncertainty by filing compliant applications while maximizing the likeliness of enjoying protection once the patent is awarded.

The paper deals with the subject of diagnostics and the quick repairs of long-term operated metallic materials. Special attention was paid to historical materials, where the structure (e.g., puddle iron) is different from modern structural steels. In such materials, the processes of microstructural degradation occur as a result of several decades of exposure, which could overpass 100 years. In some cases, their intensity can be potentially catastrophic. For this reason, the search for minimally invasive diagnostic methods is ongoing. In this paper, corrosion and fracture toughness tests were conducted, and the results of these studies were presented for two material states: post-operated and normalized (as a state “restoring” virgin state). Moreover, through the use of modern numerical methods, composite crack-resistant patches have been designed to reduce the stress intensity factors under cyclic loads. As a result, fatigue lifetime was extended (propagation phase) by more than 300%.

ABSTRACT: Epidural catheter rupture is a condition rarely described in the literature, being considered rare. The reports on the subject present discussions about the possible causes and consequences in the anesthetic act. Discussions about complications are even rarer, of which neurological symptoms, pain, inflammation, root avulsion or infectious complications. Thus, this clinical case describes an event of epidural catheter rupture in a patient during preoperative analgesia, treated by surgery. Data were obtained through a review of the medical record, interview with the patient, photographic record of the diagnostic methods and review of the literature. Patient A. C., female, 28 years old, 55 kg, 1.64 m, GIPI, with previous history of pain in right hypochondrium, associated with nausea and vomiting, diagnosed with choledocholithiasis and taken to the surgical center for conventional cholecystectomy. During insertion of the catheter for anesthesia in the thoracic epidural space, the patient reported paresthesia in the right lower limb. When withdrawing needle-catheter assembly under resistance, there was rupture of the same. It was decided to perform imaging tests, which showed a catheter fragment in the computed axial tomography. Since the patient was symptomatic, an emergency surgical procedure was performed. Keywords: epidural anesthesia; complications; epidural catheter; break.

Nodular goiter with autoimmune thyroiditis is one of the most important problems of modern endocrinology, with inadequately studied etiological and pathogenic mechanisms of development. It is characterized by the lack of objective and reliable diagnostic methods, effective treatment methods, uncertain therapy or indications for the choice of treatment methods. A total we have examined 125 patients who were operated for a nodular endemic goiter with autoimmune thyroiditis. Investigated the activity of proliferation and apoptosis of thyrocytes in the thyroid tissue of patients of nodular goiter with autoimmune thyroiditis considering the polymorphism of the bcl-2 (rs17759659), ctla-4 (rs231775), apo-1/fas (rs2234767) genes. The expression/density markers - Fas/ FasL, Bcl-2, p53 and Ki-67 on the thyrocytes in the lymphoid infiltration and destruction areas, as well as in normal thyroid tissue (as a control) were studied. The number of immunoreactive cells, which expressed the above-mentioned regulating apoptosis and proliferation markers in NGAIT patients, depending on the genes polymorphism BCL-2 (rs17759659), CTLA-4 (rs231775) and APO-1/Fas (rs2234767) were counted. It was found that in NGAIT patients a few links of programmable thyroid cell killing of Fas-induced apoptosis were activated, and associated with the polymorphic cite of BCL-2 (rs17759659) gene and almost 6 times weaker with CTLA-4 (rs231775) gene, through enhanced expression of Fas and Fas L on the cells surface in lymphoid infiltration and destruction areas (stronger in GG genotype carriers of BCL-2 gene).

The object of this research is the negative states experienced by the students during class time. The subject of this research is the correction of negative states by means of virtual reality technologies. The possibility of correcting negative mental states of extreme psychology students is explored from theoretical and empirical perspectives. The author reveals the basic techniques aimed at correction of mental states by means of virtual technologies. Analysis is conducted on implementation of virtual reality technologies in educational sphere. An empirical research is carried out. The author uses the diagnostic methods for assessing mental states, such as exhaustion, fatigue, tension, stress, monotony of satiation; and experimental methods, such as 10-20 minute preview of relaxing and dynamically-arousing scenes in virtual reality headset. It is demonstrated the during the academic day, the students majoring in extreme psychology accumulate negative emotional states, which include: exhaustion, tension, situational fatigue, and monotony. Application of virtual reality technology for submerging students into a virtual space allows restoring mental resources and delay the expansion of negative states. The development of mental resource requires appropriate choice of virtual realities. The conclusion is made that viewing virtual reality scenes of relaxing type decreases the level of exhaustion, while viewing the scenes of dynamically-arousing type with the effect of presence decrease the level of situational fatigue.
