The purpose of our study was to propose the measures necessary to promote industry-academic cooperation by investigating and analyzing factors affecting its performance Recently, the Korean government increased the budget available for industry-academic cooperation to help nurture industrial talent and promote industry-academic cooperation. In our study, the results of industry-academic cooperation for 48 universities that carried out the 5-year LINC development project from 2012 to 2016 were analyzed via panel analysis to identify any factors affecting the performance. Our analysis revealed that the organizational capabilities of the university—including the number of dedicated professors, the number of projects assigned, and the financial support—had a significant effect on technical commercialization. In addition, we found that the moderating effect of allied companies on the relationship between the organizational capabilities of universities and their technical commercialization was significant. However, the results of our analysis differed depending on university location. Universities in and around the Capital region benefited from their organizational capabilities and cooperation with allied companies. Based on the results of the analysis, we conclude that it is necessary to consider a variety of factors, including efficient support of the industry-academic cooperation budget and practical application of industry-academic cooperation systems.

Technological innovation drives competitiveness and productivity of nations. The university-enterprise relationship (RUE) is determinant for the generation of an efficient innovation. The entrepreneur-researcher binomial (E-R) is the core process research and development (R & D) and technology transfer and knowledge (TTK). Despite efforts to improve RUE, little has been done to strengthen the relationship between E-R. This study confirms the existence of a gap between entrepreneur and researcher (ERG), it allows us to understand the importance of empathy in collaboration and identify factors affecting the relationship. The data were obtained by the exploratory and transversal approach, through interviews and questionnaires Likert. The sample consisted of expert researchers who have participated in joint innovation projects with entrepreneurs. The results indicate that 75% of researchers surveyed perceive the existence of an ERG under collaborative R & D and TTK. 78% of scientists see empathy as a significant variable for joint projects. The study revealed that only 16% of the factors affecting RUE influence the relationship of the binomial E-I significantly.

The study aims to investigate the relationship between the academic achievement of computerized tests and traditional pen and paper exams of Business College students at the University of Jordan- Aqaba branch as well as relate differences results to students` gender. The study sample comprised 136 students of a compulsory course at the Business Faculty. A computerized mid-term test was held while the final one was traditional. The results of the two tests were compared where the other general factors affecting students` academic achievement, namely ( the same students, course subject, course subject lecturer) were set. The tests marks were sampled as percentage to the test mark so as to delete the denominator difference of marks where the mid-term mark is out of 30 while the final test is out of 50. The SPSS was used to compare the results of the two tests. Results were related to students gender, whether gender-related differences are found. The study concluded that there is no statistical significant relationship between the academic achievement of computerized tests and traditional ones (paper and pen) held at the Business College in The University of Jordan- Aqaba branch. The results also indicated that the academic achievement differences resulting from computerized tests have to do with the student gender variable in favour of male students.

The relationship between the higher education sector and employment is under close examination, with the employment outcomes of graduates being seen as an important indicator of institutional performance. Universities have responded by providing a range of services and programs. One such program, Inside running, has been implemented at the University of Western Sydney, with the financial support of all sectors of the institution, to develop graduates who have a greater awareness of the culture and operations of large corporations. Inside running addresses the integral elements of a career education program through student participation in an intensive six day exposure to the corporate world. This article describes the program and its outcomes.

AbstractThe underlying causes of grasshopper outbreaks in Western Canada are of interest both as an academic problem in insect population dynamics and as a practical problem in modern agriculture. Grasshopper populations reach their annual low point in early July when they are in the adult stage and increase sharply in the fall at the time of oviposition. Any factor that influences the grasshoppers during this period may have a marked effect on the outbreak of the following year. The relationship between grasshopper population numbers and proceeding fall temperatures may either control grasshopper populations directly by affecting their physiology or indirectly by affecting their parasites, predators, and diseases. Studies at the University of Saskatchewan aimed at solving this problem include investigation of the microclimate to which grasshoppers are subjected under field conditions, a survey of their feeding habits as shown by crop analyses, and a study of their oviposition behaviour. On the basis of available information an attempt is being made to predict future outbreaks at least 6 months in advance.

Aim. Based on similar studies, this research work aims to investigate the perception of students and Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) of learning about the importance of soft skills for their education and employment since these skills are increasingly sought-after by potential employers. Methods. The Kendall Tau b test and Mann Whitney U test have been applied to show the relationship between soft skills and job preparedness for students. This study investigates a selection of 100 students from a private HEI (UBT College) and 100 students from a public HEI (University “Haxhi Zeka”), both in Kosovo. A total of 200 valid responses were collected from July to September 2020. Goldsmith inventory for 15 soft skills has been distributed as a questionnaire has been distributed to the students of these universities. Results and conclusion. The research results indicate that in soft skills development of the UBT College students is significantly higher than the soft skills developed of the University “Haxhi Zeka” students. The findings also show that most of the students believe that their actual soft skills were at a less than the desired level. Practical application. This research implicates the Higher Education Institutions to consider the soft skills as an important tool for enhancing graduates’ employability. The results indicate the need to  reconsider the curriculum by embedding soft skills on it. The students’ perception on soft skills is a contribution not only for the universities considered in this research but also for all graduates in HEIs in Kosovo, since the curriculum does not change much among universities. According to Eurostat the unemployment youth rate in Kosovo is about 55.4% and for this reason the results will help the HEIs to rethink about their students’ future employment opportunities. Originality. This is the only study done in Kosovo about graduates’ soft skills and employment and it provides information about a concerning problem in the country. This paper suggests initiatives to upgrade students’ soft skills and to improve their perspective on their future employment.

AbstractIn 1513 the Fifth Lateran Council determined that the immortality of the rational soul is not true only in theology, but also in philosophy. The determination can be related also to the actual teaching of philosophy. In the university of Erfurt, Bartholomaeus Arnoldi de Usingen and Jodocus Trutfetter wrote expositions on natural philosophy at that time. Usingen's and Trutfetter's expositions of De anima represent a position, which faithfully follows in methodology and aspirations the tradition of the via moderna. Furthermore, they give an interpretation of the relationship between philosophy and theology, which Trutfetter considered consonant with the intentions and the formulations of the Fifth Lateran Council; and finally, Trutfetter even presents a practical application of the Council's recommendations.

In our initial publication on this subject1) we reported results demonstrating that contrast is the most important factor in producing the high image quality required for reliable image analysis. We also listed the factors which enhance contrast in order of the experimentally determined magnitude of their effect. The two most powerful factors affecting image contrast attainable with sheet film are beam intensity and KV. At that time we had only qualitative evidence for the ranking of enhancing factors. Later we carried out the densitometric measurements which led to the results outlined below.Meaningful evaluations of the cause-effect relationships among the considerable number of variables in preparing EM negatives depend on doing things in a systematic way, varying only one parameter at a time. Unless otherwise noted, we adhered to the following procedure evolved during our comprehensive study:Philips EM-300; 30μ objective aperature; magnification 7000- 12000X, exposure time 1 second, anti-contamination device operating.
