Problem statement. One of the most important directions of modern choral studies is the research on the life and creative path of outstanding choirmasters, while understanding their performing experience, pedagogical approaches and taking into account their aesthetic and artistic beliefs. One of the most honorable places among artists is occupied by Viacheslav Palkin (1935–2008), who contributed greatly to the development and prosperity of both, the choral culture of Slobozhanshchyna and Ukraine. The relevance of topic lies in the necessity to study the creative experience of the remarkable choral conductor V. S. Palkin, to understand the contribution of the luminary of the Kharkiv conducting and choral school to the development of national art. Theoretical background includes the articles of O. Batovska (2005), H. Parfonova (2008) and the thesis of H. Savelieva (2012), N. Bielik(2007), which examines Palkin’s pedagogical approaches, his achievements as the head of the Choral Conducting Department of the Kharkiv I. P. Kotlyarevsky Institute of Arts, as well as the performing style of the Сhamber Сhoir led by him as an artistic director and choirmaster. Other sources of study embody the materials of the national conference, methodological works and articles by V. S. Palkin collected and published in I. Palkin’s book “Viacheslav Palkin. By the roads of choral art” (2011). The objective of the work is to define a periodization of Palkin’s life and career to identify the stages of his professional growth to the crowning achievements at the height of his creative career. The research methodology lies in the application of the principles of historicism, phenomenological and acmeocentric approaches, biographical method and the method of typological analysis. The periodization of the life and career of the distinguished choral conductor, teacher and educator V. S. Palkin is presented for the first time in art studies. Conclusions. The analysis of V. Palkin’s life and career resulted in the periodization. The following criteria were taken into account: biographical, geographical, evolutionary-performing and age-specific. The first period (1935–1951) covers childhood, the second one (1951–1960) represents his years of education. This period is characterized by his desire to comprehend and embrace all the subtleties of choir conducting. The third stage (1960–1978) is the accumulation of choirmaster, pedagogical, and life experience. The fourth one (1978–2008) is the culmination of the master’s life and career, his finest hour and acme phase, when he created a chamber choir, which reached the highest level of choral art under his leadership. It was established that choirs led by V. Palkin reflect changes in his artistic career path. The four stages reflect the evolution of the artist as a conductorinterpreter, organizer and leader of numerous choral groups, teacher and educator.

Although James Wood has been in the forefront of contemporary music as both choral conductor and percussionist, directing the New London Chamber Choir in many new works, and organizing the Darmstadt Summer School Percussion Course for several years, his own compositions have little in common with the mainstream of postwar European music. It might be assumed that his interest in ancient Greek rhythms, together with their Indian and Chinese equivalents, stems from his association with the music of Xenakis; but he has never shown any inclination to use complex mathematical formulae, and has probably been less concerned than almost any other contemporary composer with the organization of pitch.

In contrast to the modern urban planning, which can be done in short period in terms of the spatial qualified design, the traditional tribe needs longer period in terms of the villagers’ sense of community. The selection of location, planning, and construction reveals the wisdom of the former people’s use of the resourceful life experience. First, the paper employs PHOENICS to simulate the wind environments of two most representative patterns of rural settlements in the southern area of Southern Fujian, China. This was made to compare the different conditions caused by settlements of various architectural groups. Second, the engineering and construction aspects of settlements—such as the width of roads and building structures—will be further analyzed and examined as case study in attempt to discover the favorable environmental factors for generating winds as well as the construction dimension of the settlement, such as the road width and the architectural design. Finally, the paper tends to conclude with an energy conservation strategy applied to the construction of modern communities which has low density and small group buildings.

Experience design, both in real and in virtual museums, is very complex to be planned, even more when digital contents are juxtaposed to real collections. Researchers in this field, curators, creatives and software developers must work together in order to evolve towards a more efficient interconnection among visitors, collections and digital applications. This paper deals with such an interconnection, providing a theoretical background and practical guidelines, on the basis of museum studies and of the author’s research experience in this domain, supported by the results of surveys carried out on European museums visitors dealing with digital technologies. Media hybridization has a long and evolving tradition and it can contribute to transmit culture in engaging way to the public, respecting the scientific plausibility of contents. The choice of narrative structures and styles, as well as of interaction paradigms and technologies, is deeply conditioned by a series of factors that will be examined in detail. A general “direction” is needed to arouse in the visitor a feeling of confidence and trust, expectation and discovery that makes him/her feel at the center of an emotional and creative experience, of a progressive appropriation of meaning. Various typologies of experiences will be discussed and compared.

Введение. Исследованы когнитивные основания лексической полисемии и описаны принципы организации системы значений многозначного слова. Актуальность исследования заключается в динамическом подходе к языковому значению как к способу и результату концептуализации структур знания. Объектом исследования являются конструкции с глаголом find типа Finally I found the wallet; He found a wallet on the road. Значение глагола find трактуется как когнитивный феномен, за которым стоит пропозициональная структура знания о ситуации обнаружения. Цель – выявить семантические и концептуальные характеристики прототипической когнитивной модели ситуации обнаружения и установить когнитивные факторы и механизмы, влияющие на концептуальную вариативность прототипической ситуации. Материал и методы. Использовались принципы и методы когнитивной семантики, в рамках которой значение понимается как концептуализация когнитивного взаимодействия человека с миром. Результаты и обсуждение. Выявлены параметры лексического значения глагола find, которые определяют основные механизмы образования производных значений и парадигму многозначности глагола. Обоснованы категориальные значения данного глагола. На основе признаков агентивность/неагентивность глагол find актуализирует в зависимости от когнитивного контекста либо таксономическую категорию действие с акцентом на результате, либо происшествие. Установлено, что изменение таксономической категории глагола find является механизмом семантической деривации производного неагентивного значения, посредством которого концептуализируется неконтролируемая ситуация обнаружения. Выявлены и описаны семантические, синтаксические, прагматические характеристики контролируемой и неконтролируемой ситуаций обнаружения. Когнитивно значимыми для концепта контролируемой ситуации обнаружения являются пресуппозиция поисковой деятельности и конкретно-референтный статус актантов. Концепт ситуации неконтролируемого обнаружения задает роль участника-каузатора в позиции синтаксического субъекта и активирует компонент «сопутствующая деятельность». Заключение. Результаты исследования обладают экпланаторным потенциалом для понимания когнитивных механизмов образования производных значений многозначного глагола, что вносит вклад в дальнейшее развитие концепции когнитивной семантики. Introduction. The theoretical background of the research is a set of principles and assumptions of cognitive linguistics to the study of the meaning of a linguistic form in the context of other cognitive structures. The theoretical perspective of the paper is to consider semantic shifts of the verb find. The goal of the research is to highlight cognitive mechanisms underlying alternative construal of the situations conceptualized by the verb find and reveal cognitive strategies of verbal semantic derivation. Material and methods. The research is based on the empirical data from available sources and corpora data. The study is conducted within the framework of cognitive semantics where language meaning is viewed as knowledge structure. Results and discussion. The paper considers the phenomenon of lexical polysemy from a cognitive perspective. Of particular concern is the issue of semantic extension of the polysemantic verb find. The study brings into focus such parameters of the verbal meaning as taxonomic category of the verb, semantic roles of the participants and their referential status. It is argued that the change of any parameter causes semantic shifts of the lexical meaning of the verb find. The paper discusses two taxonomic categories of the verb find “achievements” and “happenings”. The author comes to the conclusion that the semantic difference between the constructions like Finally he found the wallet and He found a coin in the dust lies in the semantic component “+control”/“–control”. The study highlights semantic and syntactic features of the controlled and non-controlled situations conceptualized by the agentive meaning and non-agentive meaning of the verb find. Conclusion. The results of the research reveal that the change of the taxonomic category of the verb is a cognitive mechanism of verbal semantic derivation. The results obtained may be helpful for further study of productive semantic derivation processes in the framework of cognitive semantics.

Abstract: Adaptive reuse in general is modifying a place for the function proposed or adapted to the existing function. Studies on the benefits of Adaptive Reuse are considered capable of providing three benefits such as, environmental aspects, social aspects and economic aspects and if associated with the context of disaster mitigation, the application of Adaptive Reuse is an alternative strategy in providing temporary shelter. The selection of Denpasar City as a research location is based on several considerations such as, the high number of unused buildings, strategic locations and infrastructure in accommodating refugees from outside the region and challenges to the lack of green land as a place of refuge. This study examines old buildings that begin with an understanding of evaluation criteria, the second stage is mapping and measuring old buildings which will be categorized based on the type of building, the third stage is building valuation. The results of the study obtained four buildings that were feasible to be used as temporary dwellings, namely, hotel lodging facilities on Jalan Puputan, Renon; sports facilities and parks namely Gor Kompyang Sujana on the road of Mt. Agung No.160 Pemecutan Kaja ; commercial facility building, namely the Shopping Block at Dewi Sartika Street, Dauh Puri Klod ; and cultural and entertainment facilities, namely Ardha Candra open stage at Nusa Indah No.1 street, Panjer.Keywords: Adaptive Reuse; Natural Disaster; Temporary Shelter, Denpasar City.Abstrak: Adaptive reuse secara umum yaitu memodifikasi sebuah tempat untuk fungsi yang diusulkan atau disesuaikan dengan fungsi eksisting. Kajian-kajian megenai manfaat Adaptive reuse dinilai mampu memberikan tiga manfaat yaitu, aspek lingkungan, aspek sosial dan aspek ekonomi dan jika dikaitkan dengan konteks mitigasi bencana, penerapan Adaptive reuse adalah strategi alternatif dalam penyediaan hunian sementara. Pemilihan Kota Denpasar sebagai lokasi penelitian yang didasari oleh beberapa pertimbangan seperti, tingginya jumlah bangunan yang tak terpakai, lokasi dan infrastruktur yang strategis dalam mengakomodasi pengungsi dari luar daerah dan tantangan terhadap minimnya lahan hijau sebagai tempat pengungsian.  Penelitian ini mengkaji bangunan tua yang dimulai dengan pemahaman kriteria evaluasi, tahap kedua yaitu pemetaan dan pengukuran bangunan tua yang akan di kategorikan berdasarkan tipe bangunan, tahap ketiga yaitu penilaian bangunan. Hasil penelitian memperoleh empat bangunan yang layak untuk digunakan sebagai tempat tinggal sementara yaitu, bangunan dan fasilitas penginapan hotel di jalan Raya Puputan, Renon, Denpasar; bangunan fasilitas olahraga dan taman yaitu Gor Kompyang Sujana di jalan Gn. Agung No.160 Pemecutan Kaja, Denpasar; bangunan fasilitas komersial yaitu Blok Pertokoan di jalan Dewi Sartika, Dauh Puri Klod, Denpasar; dan bangunan fasilitas budaya dan hiburan yaitu panggung terbuka Ardha Candra di jalan Nusa Indah No.1, Panjer, Denpasar.Kata Kunci: Penggunaan Kembali, Bencana Alam, Hunian Sementara, Kota Denpasar.

The paper presents an extensive theoretical background related to the travel time and the studies that were conducted during the recent years on the subject. As a concept, travel time is related to the period of time spent in travelling between two different points in space. The analysis focuses on several aspects related to the travel time concept such as its usefulness, its influencing factors, and data collection methods for its determination. In order to also provide a practical outcome, the main interurban road connection between Cluj-Napoca and Tîrgu-Mureş was studied. The road trespasses both urban and rural localities in the North-Western of Romania. For the data collection process, a GPS-based equipment was placed on a test vehicle to run the route for multiple times, at different days and hours. The collected data were studied by means of statistical analysis in order to establish the most relevant aspects of the travel time. The research goal of the paper was to evaluate the influence exerted by demographics and type of locality on travel time by means of eventual delays. The main findings were employed to analyze the traffic conditions as well as the parameters that have a major impact on them. According to the results of the analysis, the traffic flow on the interurban route is best described by the travel time and consequently the delays registered due to multiple obstructive elements such as railway level crossings, pedestrian crossings within the localities, and level intersections between different roads category. However, according to the study, it can also be concluded that travel time and therefore the eventual delays are not influenced to a great extent by neither the type of transited localities - urban or rural, nor the demographics.

В статье рассматриваются некоторые аспекты внедрения механизма развития педагогического творчества воспитателей дошкольных образовательных организаций в ходе непрерывного повышения квалификации на базе ОГБУ ДПО «Рязанский институт развития образования» и стажировочной площадки института. В статье сосредоточено внимание на пошаговой деятельности преподавателя, связанной с применением в работе со слушателями курсов различных методов, интегрированного подхода и компонентов эстетико-ориентированной среды, форм образовательной и организационной работы с целью формирования у педагогов умений самостоятельного проектирования индивидуального образовательного маршрута дошкольников. Раскрыты авторские методы и технология «Творческий пазл». Сделан вывод о том, что введение в процесс повышения квалификации педагогов дорожной карты, включающей совокупность методов и технологий поэтапной реализации формальных, неформальных и информальных форм образования создает необходимые условия для непрерывного совершенствования педагогического мастерства, развития творческого потенциала и профессионального роста. In the article some aspects of introduction of the development mechanism of pre-school teachers’ pedagogical creativity are considered during continuous professional development on the basis of Regional State Budgetary Institution APE "Ryazansky Institute of educational development" and the internship platform of institute. In the article the attention is concentrated on step-by-step activity of the teacher connected with application in work with students of various methods, integrated approach and components of the esthetic-focused environment, forms of educational and organizational work in order to form at teachers the abilities of independent design of an individual educational path of pre-school children. Author's methods and Creative Puzzle technology are revealed. The conclusion is made that implementation into process of teachers’ professional development the “road map” including set of methods and technologies of stage-by-stage realization of formal, informal and non-formal forms of education creates necessary conditions for continuous improvement of pedagogical mastery, development of creative potential and professional growth.

Abstract The purpose of this article is to compare the tax burden on car owners and car users in the countries of Europe and in Russia and to use the findings for identifying areas of improvement in the system of fiscal instruments under the present conditions of transport development. The article examines the European experience in the construction of fixed and variable transport taxes to regulate the behavior of the car owners. The theoretical background collection of taxes for the use of a car is considered. The article looks the size of fixed taxes in different countries depends on the technical characteristics of the car that determine its capability to have a negative impact on the road network and environmental factors. A conclusion is made that in Russia, the system of transport taxes lacks logic. The level of fixed taxes that is rather higher for Russia generates two effects: it hinders the growth of car ownership and preserves the negative structure of the car fleet. The low level of variable taxes (fuel tax and tolls) encourages the intense use of passenger cars. The approach will spur further growth of car ownership rates in Russia, making people car dependent. A reform of variable transport taxes is needed to regularly increase them. Such an increase should also be accomplished by regularly increasing fuel excise duties and introducing congestion charges and toll charges on more roads, bridges, tunnels, and conservation areas.

The relevance of the article is determined by the rapid socio-economic transformations in the life of Ukraine, which put forward new requirements for the training of specialists in the service sector. The formed professional position of the specialist facilitates its implementation in the modern labour market. It has been proved to be important to develop the service sector specialist’s activity in the process of professional development based on the promotion of his / her professional positions. It has been found out that professional training is one of the most effective methods of human change aimed at personal and professional development through the acquisition, analysis and reassessment of person’s own life experience in the process of a group interaction. It has been determined that professional trainings allow the specialists of the service sector to realize his / her active professional position, to show a positive motivation concerning his / her high quality self-change. It has been noted that the acquisition of new competencies by specialists due to the development of the service industry alongside with the improvement of the management of the organization, ways of interaction of specialists representing its certain units appear to be the results of the training. Career orientation is noted to be a factor which enables revealing an active professional position of a service sector specialist. Career is the result of a person’s conscious professional position and behavior associated with the official or professional growth. Achievement of career goals is associated with the activity of professional development, including both the effectiveness of the self-learning processes and the initiative in the search for ways of self-realization in the profession according to the vertical scale. The article summarizes the ways to identify an active professional position for service professionals representing different social levels. It has been revealed that this position of the one who is the owner of the business is different from the position of the one who performs the role of an employee. The role of team building within the communicative and social spheres aimed at the organization of a professional team; the creation of corporate foundations, traditions of business owners, which will determine the role positions of each employee; the realization of the potential and resource capacity of each specialist; the elaboration of the route of business development, taking into account the characteristics of the team members as a resource base has been designated. In the context of Ukraine's integration into the European space, more and more Ukrainian scholars pay attention in their scientific research to the local lore component of the study of various spheres of Ukrainian culture, more often raise issues of national culture and people's attitude to their historical heritage. The artistic life of a particular region, which has its peculiarities and traditions, becomes of interest not only as a component of the general culture of Ukraine but also as a part of European culture. We believe that the high value of contemporary artists’ contribution to the development of the artistic culture of Poltava region is one of the most pressing issues today. Among the outstanding names in Poltava, one of the honorary places is occupied by Hryhoriy Semenovych Levchenko, who is the Ukrainian choral conductor, a composer, a music teacher, a professor, Honored Worker of Culture of Ukraine, Honored Artist of Ukraine, a founder and an artistic director of the Ukrainian Folk Choir "Kalyna" of Poltava V.G. Korolenko National Pedagogical University. The article considers the path of Hryhoriy Levchenko’s personal and professional development. It is determined that an important factor in shaping his personality was the national-aesthetic environment of his homeland, along with an early acquaintance with music culture, education in various educational institutions (including music ones), the influence of his teachers, educators, and persistent systematic work. It is proved that H. Levchenko combines high professionalism, active civil position, bright national self-identification, incredible diligence, a wide range of moral qualities, spirituality in his artistic and professional activity, which is an indisputable example for a great number of students and followers. It is determined that the scientific-creative and pedagogical-educational components of Hryhoriy Levchenko’s artistic and pedagogical activity are aimed at training future teachers not only in the field of art but also at forming future specialists in the field of natural sciences, etc. In their pedagogical practice, they will contribute to a better understanding of the Ukrainian cultural heritage and the development of cultural cooperation with other countries; preserving and increasing of our region traditions; will be capable of national self-awareness, moral and patriotic upbringing of the young generation, which is an important basis for the formation of a highly spiritual pedagogical elite of Poltava region.
