The present century demands transformative competencies in all spheres of human life and this necessitated the evolution of a new civil right in the modern era. Inevitably, this demands for new sets of skills and competencies in the learners to meet the challenges and competitions of the knowledge economy, labor market and information settings. To build the 21st century skills and competencies in the learners, teachers need to have awareness and knowledge about these skills and apply them in their daily classroom activities. In order to execute the strategies for promoting 21st century skills among learners, a clear perception on the same is highly essential. It is interesting to analyze the perception of the teachers and the missing gaps. This study was conducted to examine the gap between the actual and ideal perception of 21st century skills among secondary school teachers of Kerala. It also examined to what extent their age, teaching experience and subjects have been related to perception level. Data has been collected from secondary school teachers (N=350) through survey method. The result of the study showed that there was gap between actual and ideal perceptions of 21st century skills among the secondary school teachers and also positive correlation between age, teaching experience and the actual perception of 21st century skills.

The role of teacher is proficient, be composed of academic, didactic and social roles. Academic roles cover teaching, instructing and supervisory characters and pedagogical characters include instructional, valuation and simplifying roles. The study aimed to identify the teaching competency of secondary school teachers. The investigator adopted survey method to study the teaching competency between teachers from selected government, private and aided school. For this study a sample of 300 school teachers from eight various schools which are situated in Palakkad district selected by the investigator using simple random sampling technique. The findings revealed that there is no significant difference towards teaching competency among selected secondary school teachers with respect to personal variables like Gender, Marital Status, Educational Qualification, Type of Management and Teaching experience. The findings of the study help to discover the teaching competency of secondary school teachers in the society.

All around development means a person must be physically fit, mentally balanced, emotionally strong, socially adjusted and spiritually uplifted. The spiritual intelligence solves problems of meaning and value. It gives direction to our life in critical moment. Meaning/Purpose in life must be conceived in terms of the specific meaning of a personal life in a given situation. The study is design to examine the influence of the spiritual intelligence on purpose in life of secondary school teachers. The method used for the study is survey method. The sample of the study is 200 secondary school teachers. Two types of tools are used for this study. 1. The spiritual intelligence questionnaire constructed by Danah Zohar and Marshall (1999), it is a 5-point scale and 2. The purpose in life test prepared by Crumbaugh and Maholick (1969) is selected as an instrument to measure Viktor Frankl’s concept in meaning in life. It is a 5 point Likert scale. Both the tools are used to collect the data from secondary school teachers. The results of this study indicated that there is no significant difference is found in spiritual intelligence of secondary school teachers with below 10years, 10-20 years and 20 and above year’s groups.  No significant difference is found in purpose in life of secondary school teachers in their teaching experience with below 10years, 10-20 years and 20 and above year’s groups. The variable teaching experience does not influence significantly the spiritual intelligence and purpose in life of secondary school teachers. The study showed that there is no significant association between the levels of spiritual intelligence of secondary school teachers and their purpose in life. Findings of this study shows that all secondary school teachers have average level of spiritual intelligence and purpose in life.

Background and Purpose: Workplace stress is a common phenomenon that militates against the productivity of teachers. Thus, this study investigated the factors responsible for workplace stress among female teachers in Oyo metropolis, Oyo State, Nigeria.   Methodology: Descriptive survey method was adopted. A total of 200 female secondary school teachers in Oyo metropolis represented the sample for the study. A questionnaire was used to collect data. The instrument was validated by experts in counselling and social work and possessed a reliability coefficient of 0.82 after being subjected to test re-test. Data were analyzed using percentage, t-test and Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) at 0.05 level of significance.   Findings: Findings revealed that the factors responsible for workplace stress among female secondary school teachers in Oyo metropolis include poor work environment, lack of job security, indiscipline among students, irregular payment of salary among others. Significant differences were found based on school type, educational qualification, teaching experience and marital status.   Contributions: Workplace stress among female teachers in Oyo metropolis is negatively associated with ill-health. Poor work environment, lack of job security, indiscipline among students, and irregular payment of salary among others on the scale of measurement except under promotion with a mean score below 2.50 benchmark. It is recommended that counsellors should be mandated to counsel the female teachers in Oyo metropolis on how to cope with workplace stress.   Keywords: Factors, Female Teachers, Oyo Metropolis, Stress, Workplace Stress.   Cite as: Adegboyega, L. The existing study was expected to identify the relationship between organizational commitment and demographic variation of private secondary school teachers. The study’s objectives were; (i) to identify the relationship between qualification and organizational commitment of secondary school teachers, (ii)to find out the relationship between marital status and organizational commitment of secondary school teachers, and (iii) to identify the relationship between teaching experience and organizational commitment of secondary school teachers. The nature of the study was descriptive and quantitative and for the collection of data, the survey method was used. In Rawalpindi and Islamabad, there was 13764 private secondary school, work. Through simple random sampling techniques, 860 teachers were randomly selected. Organizational Commitment Scale (OCS) developed by Allen and Meyer (1997) was used as a research instrument in this study. The researcher individually visited the sampled schools and collected the data. To test hypotheses, analysis of variance (ANOVA) was used. It was found that there is no correlation among academic, professional qualification, and marital status with the organizational commitment of teachers. It is further concluded that there is a relationship between the experience of teachers and the organizational commitment of teachers. The teachers have the experience of 1-5, 6-10, 11-15, and 16-20 years are more committed toward their jobs.

This study examined the influence of teachers’ emotional intelligence (EI) on academic achievement and outlined the model with the mediating effect of job satisfaction (JS) between the EI and academic achievement. Survey method was employed to collect the information from 728 secondary school teachers belong to Himachal Pradesh, a state of Northern India, through various statistical tools. The results of the study showed that teachers’ emotional abilities were significantly and positively associated with academic achievement of students and showed R2 61% variance in academic achievement. The relationship between EI and academic achievement of students is partially mediated by JS.

The present investigation compares the knowledge of Rashtriya Madhyamik shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) among secondary and senior secondary school teachers in Almora district. The main properties of RMSA programme are access, quality, equity, institutional reform and strengthening of resource institutions. 70 teachers were selected randomly from secondary and senior secondary school of Almora district. Survey method was used to the present research. The logo of RMSA is ‘pade chlo, bade chlo’. For the purpose of research work “Rashtriya Madhyamik shiksha Abhiyan knowledge test” which was made and standardized by G. S. Nayal and G. C. Pandey was used. This test was distributed to 70 secondary and senior secondary school teachers. Descriptive statistics were used. Mean, standard deviation, t-values were calculated. t-test was used to find out the significance of difference of RMSA knowledge among secondary and senior secondary school teachers at p<0.01 and p<0.05. For the purpose of discussion and comparison participants (teachers) were selected from ten different categories such as rural (54.28%), urban (45.71%), male (50 %), female (50%), government (54.28%), private (45.71 %), upper caste (50.00%), lower caste (50.00%), senior secondary teacher (48.57%) and secondary teacher (51.42%).

This study aimed to highlight the challenge that Secondary School teachers face in integrating the Islamic concept of tawhid in teaching science and history subjects. The research employed a qualitative design using a case study and collect data. A purposive sample consisting of 5 teachers from Al-Amin Islamic Secondary School was selected based on teaching experience. The teachers were interviewed according to a theme-based strategy, and collected data was transcribed and analyzed accordingly. Findings have shown that integrating tawhid in the subjects of Science and History is an aim that teachers in Islamic schools in Malaysia hope to achieve. However, obstacles and challenges continue to hinder their efforts. Theoretical and practical propositions and recommendations to make this aim achievable, such as revisiting the concept of tawhid integration, enhancing teachers' creativity skills in the classroom, and providing relevant training programs by school authorities, would undoubtedly help attain their ultimate objective.

  The present study aimed to investigate the reality of employing the teachers Islamic Sciences at the secondary stage of the Collaborative websites in their teaching practices, and to visualize a proposal to activate it. The study followed the descriptive Survey method. A questionnaire was applied to a sample of (206) teachers of Islamic Sciences in the secondary stage in Riyadh. The results of the study found that the degree of employment of Islamic Sciences teachers in the secondary stage of the participatory websites as a whole came in a medium degree with an average of (2.71),the study reached the first dimension was: YouTube ranked first with an average of (3.09) with a (medium) approval, while the fourth dimension was: Tweet The third dimension was: blogs ranked third with an average score of (2.60) with a (weak) approval level. The second dimension: wikis came in last place with an average of (2.53) With a low approval level. The study also presented a suggested proposal for activating Collaborative websites in the educational process.

This study was conducted to investigate the vision and surveillance of secondary school teachers regarding features and challenges that hinder equity in secondary school education. The study aims to explore effects of two dimensions of equity i.e. fair and inclusive at secondary school education in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The descriptive survey method was utilized in this study. The researcher – made instruments consisted of open-ended questions were administered to the 100 secondary school teachers of four districts i.e. Hangu, Karak, Peshawar and Haripur of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The study illustrate that the teachers preview the stipulation of fair and inclusive education system and design, resources, and curriculum are very crucial aspects that hinder the equity in secondary school education. To some extent, the features regarding secondary school teacher’s lesson planning, and students’ reward and punishment are encumbering the equity in education. Most of the teachers consider that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Elementary and Secondary Education Department (KPESE) have a chief role in the provision of an equitable secondary school education. On the basis of finding the conclusion was drawn and possible recommendations were suggested.
