scholarly journals Exploratory study of Adolescents Reproductive Health Communication and their perception on reproductive health, addictions and psychological anxiety(DASS)

Adolescents (10-19 years) population in India is 253 million (Census 2011), and the country needs to see them physically, mentally healthy, and socially valuable people. A significant period of transition from childhood to adulthood for biological and psychological development. A phase of puberty represents a time of dramatic transformation, and hormonal changes were the testosterone sex hormone plays an essential role in the body. In men, it's thought to regulate sex drive (libido), bone mass, fat distribution, muscle mass and strength, and the production of red blood cells and sperm [1]. Adolescents are sexually active in unique aspects exploring knowledge in diverse aspects of early life experiences. Also, developmental trauma disorder will harm their attachments, social, self-regulation skills, low self-esteem, and the development of harmful sexual behaviour. During the phase, male adolescents are addicted to drugs, which causes' Psychosocial Risks (Depression, Anxiety, Stress, and Loneliness) among adolescents, shaping one's future. The study analysis the knowledge, awareness of sexuality, masturbation, sexually transmitted infection, adolescent's sexual behaviour, information-seeking behaviour, and interpersonal communication during adolescence among arts and science University male students in Coimbatore who come from the various rural and urban backgrounds. Igniting the information-seeking action and discussion will help build a strong structure of health communication to influence individuals. The interpersonal communication between the adolescent parents and the dissemination of sex education through proper communication channels will develop a positive attitude of their body functions.

Abstract Background Sexual behaviour of youth could have reproductive health outcomes with an impact on individual and general population health. The aim of this study was to determine sexual behaviour and attitudes among first year university students in city of Zagreb, Croatia. Methods Study included 298 first year students (61% of females) of Medical School University of Zagreb and 124 students (75% of females) of Catholic University of Zagreb in academic year 2017/2018. Data were collected by anonymous questionnaire School Health Survey, and analysed by descriptive statistics. Results Significantly higher proportion of Catholic University students have had sexual intercourse comparing to medical students of University of Zagreb (48% vs. 36%, P = 0.019). The age of first sexual intercourse for the most of students was from 16-18 years (73% of Catholic University students, and 79% of medical students). Contraception was always used among 54% of Catholic University students, and 67% of medical students, and never used among 11% and 4% of them respectively. Most of the students have gained information about human sexuality from the internet (26% of Catholic University students, and 30% of medical students), followed by friends (18%) and parents (11%) for Catholic University students, and television (25%) and friends (14%) for medical students. Most students expressed the attitude that sex education should be introduced in secondary schools (31% and 36%, respectively), followed by both, in primary and secondary schools (21%, and 30% respectively). Fourteen percent of Catholic University students and 7% of medical students thought that sex education should not be introduced to schools. Conclusions Results showed risky sexual behaviour of university students, especially Catholic University students, indicating the need of continuous education on reproductive health among youth. Key messages Results indicate the need of intervention and continuous education on reproductive health among university students in Zagreb, Croatia. Results showed insufficient use of contraception especially among Catholic University students indicating the need of education on reproductive health among medical and nonmedical students.

Background: Adolescents are more vulnerable than adults to unplanned pregnancies and sexually transmitted diseases including HIV/AIDS. Female adolescents have a higher risk of contracting an STD than their male counterparts. Hence creating awareness in them about reproductive health is the need of the hour.Methods: This was a cross sectional school based Study which was conducted in various schools of Faridkot city of Punjab where 400 Adolescent girls of class 11th and 12th age between 16-19 years, studying in English medium schools in district Faridkot through predesigned multiple choice questionnaires.Results: In our study, most of the girls (67%) were not aware about the meaning of reproductive health. Amongst contraceptive methods, 62.5% knew about condoms. The awareness about STDs was highest about HIV/AIDS (70.75%) and low (less than 20%) for other STDs. They also scored low about symptoms and route of transmission of STD’s. Only 17% of the girls knew about HPV vaccine. Attitude towards sex education was positive.Conclusions: Poor knowledge in girls about Reproductive Health and STDs (other than HIV/AIDS) is of serious concern. Therefore, education about reproductive health should be incorporated in the curriculum which should be given through teaching, interpersonal communication, television, health camps and specialist.

Sex education and reproductive health has always been demurred subject in India due to culture and religious inhibitions. Lack of knowledge on reproductive health during adolescent leads to sexually transmitted infections, violence, bullying and unplanned pregnancy ( RM Anderson, 2013).The hormonal changes during the adolescent age, stigma on sex related subject matters and gender inequalities in India are the greater challenges for reproductive health education (WHO,2010).Thus, endowing the scientific knowledge on sex will navigate to a quality life. Considering the above aspects, the study was rolled on to study intends to emphasize the need, knowledge and attitude towards sex education among girl adolescent and also to investigate the positive and negative effect of sex education on students. The study intended to understand the practical possibilities in implementing sex education in India

The sexual behaviour of Greek adolescents is studied in this paper through a research review. Young people facing sexuality often feel shame, fear and frustration and have strong concerns about contraception and the spread of AIDS. Sex education is still not included as a compulsory course in the school curriculum and adolescents are not well informed about sexual issues with those in the urban centres being better informed. For Greek adolescents accurate and constant information is necessary in order to alter the persisting stereotypes concerning sexuality leading to misconceptions in sexual and reproductive health.

Cisplatin (CDDP) a potent antitumor agent suffers from severe toxic side effects with nephrotoxicity being the major dose-limiting factor, The primary mechanism of its action has been proposed to be through its cross-linking DNA strands. It has also been shown to inactivate various transport enzymes and induce hypocalcemia and hypomagnesemia that may be the underlying cause for some of its toxicities. The present is an effort to study its influence on the parathyroid gland for any hormonal changes that control calcium levels in the body.Male Swiss Wistar rats (Crl: (WI) BR) weighing 200-300 g and of 60 days in age were injected (ip) with cisplatin (7mg/kg in normal saline). The controls received saline injections only. The animals were injected (iv) with calcium (0.5 ml of 10% calcium gluconate/day) and were killed by decapitation on day 1 through 5. Trunk blood was collected in heparinized tubes.

Growth and development of the child have the nature of a thorough and intertwined relationships between components (health, nutrition, and environment). In general, child development can be grouped into three areas, namely cognitive, affective, and psychomotor, whereas biological growth which includes a change in the body structure. Body structure regarding the changes in bone structure, especially the long bones that have an impact on changes in body size, whereas changes in bodily functions is a result of hormonal changes that affect the physiological function .. The purpose of this development are: 1) Describe the product feasibility study التربية الجسمية for grade XI IPA at MAN I Mojokerto 2) Describe the development of learning tools using process skills can improve learning outcomes subjects التربية الجسمية class XI IPA at MAN I Mojokerto From the results of this development can be concluded: 1) results of expert validation and testing, the model approach process skills is fit for use for subjects of Physical Education, Sport and Health, because the products developed are not revised by experts but from the results of questionnaire of students stated that require revision are: (a) Improve the look model or change the learning strategy, and (b) improve the use of resources in implementing the model. 2) Product development learning tools using process skills can improve learning outcomes subjects التربية الجسمية class XI IPA at MAN I Mojokerto. From the class of the test increased learning completeness of Pre and Post Tests Tests are respectively 77.78% increase to 91.67%.

Purpose This paper presents the results of a qualitative study that involved students of an interdisciplinary PhD program. The study objective was to gather requirements to create a knowledge graph information system. The purpose of this study was to determine information-seeking practices and information needs of this community, to inform the functionalities of a proposed system, intended to help students with relevant resource discovery and decision-making. Design/methodology/approach The study design included semi-structured interviews with eight members of the community, followed by a website usability study with the same student participants. Findings Two main information-seeking styles are recognized and reported through user personas of international and domestic (USA) students. The findings show that the useful information resides within the community and not so much on the program website. Students rely on peer communication, although they report lack of opportunities to connect. Students’ information needs and information seeking are dependent on their progress through the program, as well as their motivation and the projected timeline. Practical implications Considering the current information needs and practices, a knowledge graph hosting both information on social networks and the knowledge produced by the activities of the community members would be useful. By recording data on their activities (for example, collaboration with professors and coursework), students would reveal further useful system functionalities and facilitate transfer of tacit knowledge. Originality/value Aside from the practical value of this research that is directly influencing the design of a system, it contributes to the body of knowledge on interdisciplinary PhD programs.
