Low Birth Weight (LBW) is the first cause of infant mortality in West Java. Babies born with LBW need to get serious treatment, because in these conditions babies are easily distracted. Factors that influence the occurrence of LBW are age, nutritional status, pregnancy distance and maternal parity (Manuba, 2010). The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between maternal nutritional status and the incidence of low birth weight (LBW). This study used a descriptive analytic using a cross sectional approach. The research was conducted in August 2020 - December 2020 at RSIA dr. Djoko Pramono. The sample of this study were all deliveries at RSIA dr. Djoko Pramono from August-16 October 2020, totaling 182. Data collection techniques with secondary data were arranged using a master table. The results of the study were analyzed bivariately using the chi Square test. Based on the results of statistical analysis with chi square, it was found that there was a significant relationship between nutritional status and the incidence of LBW, with a p value of 0.000 (<0.05), OR = 16.684. Introduction: The nutritional status of pregnant women has a significant impact on the fetus's health and development. Low birth weight can be caused by womb growth problems. Research in Nepal shows that babies with low birth weight have a higher risk of becoming stunted. West Sulawesi is the most populous province in Central Indonesia, with a population of 39.7%. In Mamuju District, West Sulawesi, the relationship between stunted babies and maternal nutritional status during pregnancy was investigated. Methods: Cross sectional analytic survey with a retrospective approach. Data processing using the chi square test. The population in this study was 20.039 people. Total sampling was used to collect nutritional status data of children under the age of five in West Sulawesi province from February to June 2020. In this study, 88 people were sampled, all of whom were mothers of stunted children aged 2 to 5 Years old and who had a KIA book during pregnancy. Results: The results of statistical tests showed that the p value of nutritional status with BMI and LILA 0.000 and the p value of HB levels 0.066. There was a link between pregnant women's nutritional status and LILA, but not between HB levels and stunting. Conclusion: The conclusion of this study is that there is a relationship between the nutritional status of pregnant women based on BMI and LILA and the incidence of stunting in Mamuju Regency, West Sulawesi Province.

Background : The incidence of neonatal jaundice on low birth weight babies (BBLR) are mostly lead to mortality. A preliminary survey in the neonatal room of the public hospital (RSUD) Sidoarjo in January to December 2013 showed that there were 391 (12%) babies born with low birth weight from 3,210 natalities with 375 (9%) neonatal jaundice recorded from 3878 babies. Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the influence of low birth weight on the incidence of neonatal jaundice in RSUD Sidoarjo. Methods: The study design was a cross-sectional study with a total of 190 babies included as the study population. However, there were only 129 babies selected as respondents determined from solving formula with randomized sampling method. There were two variables measured in this study, namely low birth weight, and neonatal jaundice incidents. The secondary data were obtained from patients’ medical records and were analyzed through a chi-square test to investigate the correlation between the two variables. Results: Results showed that the percentage of babies born with low birth weight was 21.71% and the neonatal jaundice was 29.46%. The number of babies suffered from neonatal jaundice with low birth weight was 17.80% with p=0.01. Conclusion: By all means, the low birth weight has a contribution in the incidence of neonatal jaundice in RSUD Sidoarjo.

Low Birth Weight (LBW) is an infant born with a weight less than 2500 grams. LBW is one of the causes of the high rate of morbidity and infant mortality, and the low quality of human resources. The occurrence of LBW is related to the condition of the mother during pregnancy. This study was aimed to determine the factors associated with the occurrence of LBW.This was a qualitative study with case control study design. The subject of the study was the mother of the LBW infant being treated at Dr. M. DjamilCentral Public Hospital Padang as many as 36 respondents (cases), and mothers of infants who were treated with other diseases as much as 36 respondents (control) from July to mid September 2017 taken by Consecutive Sampling. Data collection was done by filling out questionnaires, observation of medical record data, and measurement of upper arm circumference. Data were analyzed univariate by using frequency distribution and bivariate using chi square test with the degree of meaning 5% (p-value=<0,05).The result of the analysis showed that there was a correlation between maternal age at risk with LBW infants, there was a relationship of poor mother's nutritional status with LBW infants, there was a parity relationship of primiparous mother with LBW infant, there was a relationship of mother who suffered one or more medical illness with LBW infant, there was no relationship of gestational distance to LBW infants, and there was a tendency for the relationship between gemelli gestation and LBW infants.Maternal age, maternal nutritional status, parity, and maternal medical illness are associated with LBW infants treated in Dr. M. Djamil Padang. Regular and periodic monitoring and examination of pregnancy is important to prevent the baby from being born with LBW.

Birth weight is a measurement for the baby an hour after birth, and it is categorized into three types. They are low birth weight (<2500 gram), normal birth weight (2500-4000 gram), and obese birth weight (>4000 gram). According to the Ministry of Health of Indonesia, low birth weight could be at risk of death, disorder of growth and development. This research aimed to determine the correlation between nutritional status, anemia and parity to birth weight in Semampir sub-district of Surabaya city in 2016. It was an observational study with cross sectional design. The data used were secondary data about birth weight as dependent variable, whereas nutritional status, anemia and parity as independent variables. The result of Pearson’s linier correlation test showed that on one hand, there was a significant correlation between nutritional status, anemia and parity to birth weight with p-value = 0,017 and 0,000. On the other hand, there was no correlation between anemia and birth weight (p = 0,857). The conclusion was mother with normal nutritional status and mother with no risk of parity between 2 – 4 times were mostly delivering babies in normal birth weight.

Background: It has been since antiquity that the importance of amniotic fluid and fetal growth with perinatal outcome is being documented. But the lacunae lies in studying the relationship between borderline amniotic fluid and perinatal outcome. The following study was undertaken to provide recent data that would help predict perinatal outcome in borderline AFI pregnancies. Methods: About 144 patients were considered in the study OPD/IPD patients in obstetrics and gynecology department in Bhabha Atomic Research Centre and Hospital, with about 72 cases with borderline amniotic fluid index (5-8 cm) and controls with amniotic fluid index ≥9-25 cm. Patients were selected and subjected to history taking, examination, ultrasound test with doppler studies and perinatal outcome documented over a period of one year. Results: The incidence of borderline AFI in my study was 16%. 58% were primigravidas. Meconium stained liquor was found in 18% cases compared to 7% controls. Low birth weight was found in 12.5% cases and 2.7% in controls. On applying statistical test analysis chi square test, it was found that borderline amniotic fluid index in relation to presence of meconium stained amniotic fluid and low birth weight, p value was found to be statistically significant (<0.05).Conclusions: Borderline amniotic fluid and perinatal outcome had significant relationship in terms of meconium stained liquor and birth weight while rest had no significance. Thus, borderline amniotic fluid patients require vigilant fetal surveillance.

Low birth weight babies are babies born with a weight less than 2500 grams. LBW (low birth weight) affects the high mortality rate in infants and is at risk of experiencing obstacles in growth and development. LBW is generally caused due to lack of nutrition and nutritional needs from mother to fetus while pregnant women aged less than 20 years and more than 35 years have the risk of giving birth to LBW. The purpose of this study is to determine the risk factors that cause LBW based on maternal age and nutritional status. The research method used was observational with a cross sectional study approach. The sampling technique was random sampling at the Regional Haji Makassar General Hospital in the January to July 2015 period with a total sample of 65 people. Analysis using the Chi Square Test. The results showed that there was a relationship between maternal age, nutritional status of LBW with a value (p value = 0.00 <α = 0.05). Maternal age and nutritional status are factors that influence low birth weight where the results of the study indicate that there is a relationship between maternal age and nutritional status on the incidence of low birth weight. To reduce the incidence of low birth weight, it is necessary to increase counseling about the causes of low birth weight babies by health workers, especially midwives to pregnant women to prevent the risk of low birth weight birth.
