This study aims to examine the effect of cooperative learning instructional methods (STAD) and conventional learning instructional methods on achievement and attitudes in the subject of Mathematics in Primary Schools. The objective of this study is to detect an instructional method of learning that can improve the achievement and attitudes of students since primary school in the subject of Mathematics. This study applies a time series quasi-experimental design. The research instruments used were pre-test, test 1, test 2, post-test, attitude questionnaires 1,2, and 3, and interview. The data analysis approach was evaluated using a one-way ANOVA to determine the differences between the experimental and control groups. The study findings for pre-test achievement for the cooperative group (n=40) were M = 38.20 (SD = 8.321), test 1 was M = 44.75 (SD = 8.20), test 2 was M = 55.28 (SD = 7.03), and post-test was M = 66.53 (SD = 9.48) while the mean conventional group (n=40) for pre-test was M = 42.20 (SD = 10.80) 1 min test M = 41.75 (SD = 10.07), 2 min test M = 41.78 (SD = 8.78) and post-test mean M = 43.33 (SD = 9.74). The findings of the questionnaire were questionnaire 1 M = 43.10 (SD = 9.17), questionnaire 2 M = 56.05 (SD = 3.47), and questionnaire 3 was M = 63.70 (SD = 3.79) for the treatment group while the control group was the questionnaire 1 M = 40.33 (SD = 10.63), questionnaire 2 M = 45.44 (SD = 8.63) and questionnaire 3 mean value M = 48.71 (SD = 7.66). Findings of the study through interviews also showed that there were significant differences in favor of the cooperative group in student achievement and student attitudes. The results showed that students in cooperative learning classes outperformed conventional learning students.

This study aims to recognize effectiveness of teaching methods in primary school in English. The researcher used the numbered heads together strategy as an effective method in education skills. The researcher used an experimental design with two groups (control group and experiment group), with a post-test for the achievement of Al-Khamaal Primary school, Fifth class. The sample of the study consisted of (60) pupils at Al-Khamaal Primary school in English, for the academic year (2018-2019). The researcher equaled the two research groups statistically by (age by months, the marks of the last year, the achievement of the parents), so there were no statistical significance between the two groups in variables. The researcher used a test to collect data. The analysis of the data showed that the numbered heads together strategy has a great effect in teaching skills at primary schools. At the end of this study, the researcher presented some recommendations. These recommendations focus on paying more attention to the learning strategies that used to improve the educational process. Moreover, teacher at primary schools should use effective strategies and effective methods in teaching skills.

Abstract Background: Teaching is a profession where teachers are exposed to use their voice excessively in many situations which impose the risk for developing morbidity caused to larynx, among them the most common is laryngitis. However, I felt that there was great need for educating primary school teachers on Prevention and Management of Laryngitis. Objectives: To find the effectiveness of Video Assisted Teaching Program (VATP) on Knowledge regarding Prevention and Management of Laryngitis among Primary School Teachers. Materials and methods: Quasi-experimental research design was adopted for the study with purposive sampling technique to select the sample (N=60) with n=30 in experimental group and control group of primary school teachers respectively. A structured knowledge questionnaire was used to assess the Knowledge; VATP was administered only to experimental group to find its effectiveness in comparison with control group. The findings of the study revealed deficit in knowledge of primary school teachers before administration of VATP. Results: The mean percentage knowledge score of post-test (79.80 %) was higher than the pretest (39.30%). The calculated paired 't' value is greater than the table value (0.05, 29df) = 2.045. It showed a significant difference between mean pre and post- test knowledge scores among experimental group. The mean percentage of knowledge scores in post-test (79.80%) among experimental group was higher than the post-test (39.80%) among control group. The 2 calculated unpaired 't' value is greater than the table value (0.05,58df) = 1.96. Calculated ÷ values showed significant association between post-test knowledge scores of respondents with their selected demographic variables. Conclusion: VATP was effective in increasing the knowledge of primary school teachers on Prevention and Management of Laryngitis.

The present study aimed to find out the effect of cooperative learning onsecondary school students’ achievement in English tenses. In thisresearch pre-test posttest control group only design was used. On thebasis of 8th grade students’ scores in the subject of English conducted byPunjab Education Commission (PEC), sixty students of ninth grade, whowere enrolled in a public school, were divided into experimental andcontrol groups by using matched-pair technique. A teacher made test wasconducted as pre-test and post-test for both groups. No significantdifference was found in pre-test scores of experimental and controlgroups. The experimental group was treated by STAD (Student TeamAchievement Division) method of cooperative learning while controlgroup was taught by traditional learning under the control condition for aperiod for eight weeks. Analysis of the data revealed the performance ofexperimental group was significantly better than that of control group.Hence, it was concluded that cooperative learning was betterinstructional strategy for increasing the student achievement in Englishtenses. By viewing the information obtained by this study, the secondaryschool English teachers may be in a position to improve their teachingmethodology. Keeping in view the results of the study, curriculumdesigners and policy makers may be able to incorporate cooperativelearning as the methodological aspect of the curriculum. On the wholethe study will be useful for teachers, educationists, curriculumdevelopers, policy makers and educational administrators.

This research aimed to examine the effects of an integrated STEM project-based with cooperative learning (STEM-PjBCL) approach on fifth graders’ five sub-scales of trait dimension in scientific creativity. A quasi-experimental pre-test and post-test non-equivalent control group design was employed. A total of 360 fifth graders from four randomly selected primary schools were chosen as sample and assigned to STEM-PjBCL (n=120), PjBL (n=120), and Conventional (CV) (n=120) instructional methods. The Figural Scientific Creativity Test was used as the pre-test and post-test. Multivariate Analysis of Covariance (MANCOVA) was performed on the post-test scores with pre-test scores as the covariates to examine whether a significant difference existed across the three methods. The results showed that fifth graders taught with the STEM-PjBCL method significantly outperformed their counterparts in the PjBL and CV method in Fluency, Originality, Elaboration, Abstractness of title, and Resistance to premature closure. However, fifth graders taught in the PjBL method did not significantly outperform their counterparts in the CV method in the five sub-scales of scientific creativity. Large effect sizes were obtained for comparing STEM-PjBCL with the PjBL and CV method. The results suggest that the STEM-PjBCL method produces a significant beneficial effect on promoting the five sub-scales of trait dimension of scientific creativity among fifth graders. IntroductionSchool-based active mile initiatives such as The Daily Mile (TDM) are widely promoted to address shortfalls in meeting physical activity recommendations. The iMprOVE Study aims to examine the impact of TDM on children’s physical and mental health and educational attainment throughout primary school.Methods and analysisiMprOVE is a longitudinal quasi-experimental cohort study. We will send a survey to all state-funded primary schools in Greater London to identify participation in TDM. The survey responses will be used for non-random allocation to either the intervention group (Daily Mile schools) or to the control group (non-Daily Mile schools). We aim to recruit 3533 year 1 children (aged 5–6 years) from 77 primary schools and follow them up annually until the end of their primary school years. Data collection taking place at baseline (children in school year 1) and each primary school year thereafter includes device-based measures of moderate-to-vigorous physical activity (MVPA) and questionnaires to measure mental health (Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire) and educational attainment (ratings from ‘below expected’ to ‘above expected levels’). The primary outcome is the mean change in MVPA minutes from baseline to year 6 during the school day among the intervention group compared with controls. We will use multilevel linear regression models adjusting for sociodemographic data and participation in TDM. The study is powered to detect a 10% (5.5 min) difference between the intervention and control group which would be considered clinically significant.Ethics and disseminationEthics has been approved from Imperial College Research Ethics Committee, reference 20IC6127. Key findings will be disseminated to the public through research networks, social, print and media broadcasts, community engagement opportunities and schools. We will work with policy-makers for direct application and impact of our findings.

Implementation of animation as an Arabic language teaching aid is an innovation in creating an atmosphere that can influence student achievement. This study aimed to identify the effectiveness of the use of animation in Arabic language teaching and learning among diploma students at Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA), Terengganu, Malaysia. A total of 66 diploma students were randomly selected and divided into experimental group (n = 33) and control group (n = 33). The results obtained from the data collected from pre-and post-test for each group were analyzed using t-test in SPSS version 17.0. The results showed a significant difference of (t = 8789, df = 64, p <0.05) between the achievement of the experimental group and the control group in the post test. The difference in mean score of the experimental group and the control group was 33.03. This shows that there is significant improvement in Arabic language according to the groups. The difference prove that the use of animation in learning sessions contribute to the achievement of students in the Arabic language. This study advocate the idea that animation applications can be integrated as part of language teaching aid to positively improve student achievement, classroom learning environment and student motivation.

This research is aimed to find out the effect of definitions toward students’ vocabulary mastery: it was an experimental study at the second grade student of MTs NW Haqqul Yaqin Sayang- sayang. The subject of this research was the second grade of MTs NW Haqqul Yaqin Sayang- sayang.The research was used experimental method with quantitative approach. The population of this research consist of 55 students, and the sample is 29 for experimental group while 26 for control group. The technique of collecting data was used definition for experimental group and matching word with antonym for control group. The data was collected by using post-test only and the data was analyzed by t-test formula. Based on data analysis the mean score of experimental group was 76,4 and control group was 69,23, beside of that standard deviation for experimental group was 114,28 and for control group was 113,09 and the value of t-test was 2,44 and t-table was 2,000. Degree of freedom is 53 with significant level 0,05. It means that the value of t-test was higher than t-table (t-test ˃ t-table). The alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted and null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected. Thus, the conclusion of this research was there was an effect of definition toward students’ vocabulary mastery: an experimental study at the second grade students of MTs NW Haqqul Yaqin Sayang-sayang.

The purpose of this study was to determine how much influence the cooperative learning model type student team's achievement division has on basketball shoot lay-up skills. The research method used in this research is a quasi-experimental method. The type of research design used was the non-equivalent group design. The population in this study were students of class XI SMA Negeri 1 Majalengka in 2019 totaling 424 students. The sampling technique used in this study was cluster random sampling technique. The sample in this study amounted to 214 students consisting of class XI IPS 1-4 and XI MIPA 7-8. The experimental group class XI IPS 1-2 and XI MIPA, control group class XI IPS 3-4 and XI MIPA 8. The results showed that the mean pre-test lay-up shoot of the experimental group was 4.09 while the control group was 3.92. The mean post-test shoot lay-up of the experimental group was 6.76 while the control group was 4.72. Furthermore, by looking at 95% confidence interval of the difference, there is a difference between the shoot lay-up results of the experimental group and the control group, which is -0.190 to 2.412. Thus, it can be concluded that STAD is effective in improving basketball shoot lay-up skills.

The paper presents the results of one part of empirical research conducted for the purpose of conceiving the proposal of educational standards for the subject Geography at the end of primary school education. The goal was to determine the extent to which the students were trained to orient themselves and use cartographic method in the process of using geographical map. Research comprised the representative sample of 919 students of the final grade in 159 Serbian primary schools. Achievement Test served for studying the levels of students' knowledge and skills in the field of Geographic Skills. Besides this, the questionnaire studied students' opinion on learning outcomes in this field, and by analyzing contingency tables, the correlation between students' success in geography at the end of the first term of the eighth grade and their opinion about learning outcomes in the afore-mentioned field was determined. The findings of this research indicate that students are not sufficiently trained to orient themselves in space and on geographical map, as well as to use geographical map in instruction. Besides, it was established that there is a correlation between students' success and their opinion on learning outcomes in the field of Geographic Skills.
