Title (Bahasa Indonesia): Struktur komunitas rumput laut di Pulau Mantehage, Provinsi Sulawesi Utara Seaweeds are an important marine resource for coastal community. They are used as medicine, paper materials, biofuel and direct consumption as vegetable or in food industries. Data collection in Mantehage island used Seagrass Watch method combined with line transect method with quadrat. This study found 29 species of seaweeds consisting of 13 species of Chlorophyta, 4 species of Phaeophtya and 12 species of Rhodophyta. Water temperatures ranged from 28–30ºC and pH ranged from 8.14–8.69, while salinity ranged between 30.8–31.9 ppt. Mantehage island waters has 100 % visibility with the current speed range of 30–42 cm/sec. INP of Caulerpa racemosa has the highest value at all sites. Diversity index ranged from 0.799–1.093 considered as low and dominance index ranged between 0.635–0.697 categorized as normal. Eveness index ranged from 0.303–0.365 showing that the seaweed community was under pressures. Rumput laut pada saat ini menjadi komoditas penting bagi masyarakat pesisir. Manfaat rumput laut selain dikonsumsi juga dijadikan sebagai obat, bahan baku kertas dan biofuel. Data di pulau Mantehege dikumpulkan menggunakan metode Seagrass watch yang dikombinasikan dengan metode transek garis dan kuadran. Ditemukan 29 spesies rumput laut yang terdiri dari 13 alga hijau Clorophyta, 4 alga cokelat Phaeyophtya dan 12 alga merah Rhodophyta. Substrat pada lokasi penelitian berupa karang mati dan batu karang. Suhu di perairan Pulau Mantehage di lokasi penelitian berkisar 28–30ºC. pH di lokasi penelitian yaitu 8,14–8,69 dengan salinitas berkisar 30,8–31,9 ppt. Kecerahan di Pulau Mantehege yaitu 100% dan kecepatan arus di kisaran 30–42 cm/detik. Nilai INP Caulerpa racemosa mempunyai nilai tertinggi pada semua lokasi. Indeks Keanekaragaman (H’) pada semua lokasi didapat berkisar 0,799–1,093 yang dikategorikan rendah dan biasa. Nilai Indeks Dominasi (D) pada semua lokasi berkisar antara 0,635–0,697 yang dikategorikan sedang. Indeks Keseragaman (J’) berkisar 0,303–0,365 yang menggambarkan komunitas pada kondisi tertekan.

This research is conducted in the coastal waters of Bahoi Village, West Likupang Sub-district, North Minahasa District with the aims to know the types of sea-related environmental factors in the research site and know the community structure of the sea cucumber including the density, Index of diversity, dominance index, and distribution patterns. Data collection was done by using the line transect method, and sampling technique by using quadrat. The results of the study found 5 species of sea cucumber i.e. Holothuria atra,  Holothuria scabra,  Bohadschia marmorata, Actinopyga echinites, and  Bohadschia vitiensis. The individual density of all species is 0.12 ind/m2, and the diversity index (H ') 0.950. The value of the similarity index/compatibility obtained is e = 0.918. The result of the calculated dominance index of sea cucumber species is 1.0 and the pattern of spreading species of sea cucumber in the research site shows a random spread pattern because the value of dispersion index  (I) approaches 1 (one). Keywords: community; Sea cucumber; Bahoi; Dominance; Diversity.AbstrakPenelitian ini dilakukan di perairan pantai desa Bahoi, Kecamatan Likupang Barat, Kabupaten Minahasa Utara dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui jenis-jenis teripang yang ada di lokasi penelitian dan mengetahui struktur komunitas teripang yang meliputi kepadatan, indeks keanekaragaman, indeks dominasi, dan pola penyebaran. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan metode line transek, dan teknik pengambilan sampel dengan mengunakan kuadrat. Hasil penelitian ditemukan 5 spesies teripang yaitu Holothuria atra, Holothuria scabra, Bohadschia marmorata, Actinopyga echinites dan Bohadschia vitiensis. Kepadatan individu dari seluruh spesies yaitu 0,12 ind/m2, indeks keanekaragaman (H’) 0,950. Nilai indeks kemerataan/keserasian diperoleh nilai indeks e = 0,918. nilai indeks dominasi spesies teripang diperoleh 1,0 dan pola penyebaran spesies teripang dilokasi penelitian menunjukkan pola sebaran acak (random) dikarenakan nilai indeks dispersi (I) mendekati 1 (satu).Kata Kunci : Komunitas; Teripang; Perairan Bahoi; Dominasi; Keanekaragaman

ABSTRACT Indonesia's territory has high water resources such as fauna diversity. One animal example from the Phylum Echinodermata Class Asteroidea. This is supported by the presence of sand, seagrass and coral reef habitats. Asteroidea is a inhabitant of shallow waters and is commonly found in seagrass beds and coral reefs. This study aims to analyze the diversity of sea star species in Bahowo Beach, Bunaken District, Manado City, North Sulawesi. The sampling method used in this study is the line transect and squared method. Analysis of the data used is Relative Abundance (KR), Diversity Index (H '), Evenness Index (e), and Wealth Index (R). The results of the study found 5 species with a total of 73 individuals. Diversity index value is H '= 1.23 and shows the results of moderate diversity. Keywords: Diversity of Types of Sea Stars in Bahowo Beach, Bunaken District, Manado City, North Sulawesi.  ABSTRAK Wilayah Indonesia memiliki sumber daya perairan yang tinggi seperti keanekaragaman fauna. Salah satu contoh hewan dari Filum Echinodermata Kelas Asteroidea. Hal ini didukung oleh keberadaan habitat pasir, padang lamun, dan terumbu karang. Asteroidea adalah penghuni perairan dangkal dan umumnya terdapat di padang lamun dan terumbu karang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis keanekaragaman jenis bintang laut yang ada di Pantai Bahowo, Kecamatan Bunaken, Kota Manado, Sulawesi Utara. Metode pengambilan sampel yang diigunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode garis transek dan kuadrat. Analisis data yang digunakan yaitu Kelimpahan Relatif (KR), Indeks Keanekaragaman (H’), Indeks Kemerataan (e), dan Indeks Kekayaan (R). Hasil penelitian didapatkan 5 spesies dengan jumlah 73 individu. Nilai indeks keanekaragaman yaitu H’= 1,23 dan menunjukkan hasil keanekaragaman sedang. Kata Kunci: Keanekaragaman Jenis Bintang Laut di Pantai Bahowo, Kecamatan Bunaken, Kota Manado, Sulawesi Utara.

This study aims to determine the diversity and density of mangrove vegetation in Kase Village, Leksula Subdistrict, South Buru Regency. The study uses the line transect method with several observation plots that are stratified. A total of 20 transects were placed at the study site with the size of each plot, namely for seedling level, which is 2 x 2 m, while for the level of a sapling, namely 5 x 5 m and for the level of trees, which is 10 x 10 m. The results showed that in the mangrove area in Kase Village, Leksula Subdistrict, South Buru Regency, 3 mangrove species were found, namely Rhizophora apiculata, Bruguiera gymnorhiza, and Sonneratia alba, which belong to two families (Rhizophoraceae, Sonneratiaceae) and 3 genera, (Rhizophora, Bruguiera, Sonneratia). The total number of mangrove individuals, that is 699 individuals from 419 levels of seedlings, 116 levels of a sapling, and 164 levels of trees. The species with the highest density and relative density values at the level of tree growth, namely Rhizophora apiculata, and at the level of sapling and seedlings, namely Bruguiera gymnorhiza. While Sonneratia alba, tends to have density values and species densities that tend to be low at all three growth rates. Furthermore, the results of the diversity index analysis in the mangrove area of Kase Village, Leksula Subdistrict, South Buru Regency, showed that the diversity of species (H´) mangroves for each growth level was 0.76 (seedlings); 0.82 (sapling); and 1.02 (trees), or classified as low to moderate category. Keywords: Mangrove, Diversity, Abundance, Kase Village  Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keanekaragaman dan kerapatan jenis vegetasi mangrove di Desa Kase, Kecamatan Leksula Kabupaten Buru Selatan. Penelitian menggunakan metode line transect dengan beberapa plot pengamatan yang dibuat bertingkat. Sebanyak 20 transek ditempatkan pada lokasi penelitian dengan ukuran plot masing-masing, yakni untuk tingkat semai, yakni 2 x 2 m, sedangkan untuk tingkat anakan, yakni 5 x 5 m dan untuk tingkat pohon, yakni 10 x 10 m. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada area mangrove di Desa Kase Kecamatan Leksula Kabupaten Buru Selatan, ditemukan 3 spesies mangrove yakni Rhizophora apiculata, Bruguiera gymnorhiza, dan Sonneratia alba, yang tergolong ke dalam dua family (Rhizophoraceae, Sonneratiaceae) dan 3 genus, (Rhizophora, Bruguiera, Sonneratia). Jumlah total individu mangrove, yakni 699 individu yang terdiri dari 419 tingkat semai, 116 tingkat anakan, dan 164 tingkat pohon. Spesies dengan nilai kerapatan dan kerapatan relatif tertinggi pada tingkat pertumbuhan pohon, yakni Rhizophora apiculata, dan pada tingkat anakan serta semai, yakni Bruguiera gymnorhiza. Sedangkan Sonneratia alba, cenderung memiliki nilai kerapatan dan kerapatan jenis yang cenderung rendah pada ketiga tingkat pertumbuhan tersebut. Kemudian, hasil analisis indeks keanekaragaman di area mangrove Desa Kase Kecamatan Leksula Kabupaten Buru Selatan, menunjukan bahwa keanekaragaman jenis (H´) mangrove untuk masing-masing tingkat pertumbuhan, yakni 0.76 (semai); 0.82 (anakan); dan 1.02 (pohon), atau tergolong kategori rendah hingga sedang.                                                      Kata Kunci: Mangrove, Keanekaragaman, Kerapatan, Desa Kase

Study Of Land Suitability For Mangrove Ecotourism In Arakan Village, Minahasa Selatan District, North Sulawesi The purpose of this study was to determine community structure, mangrove canopy cover and land suitability of mangrove ecotourism. This study used the line transect method for mangrove community structure, interviews for questionnaires and hemispherical photography for the percentage of mangrove cover. The results of the study on mangrove community structure showed that The highest important value index is found in transect 3, namely R. stylosa with value of 292,935 and the lowest on transect 3 is A. officinalis with a value of 7.065. For the suitability of mangrove ecotourism land shows that all transects belong to the suitable category with value of 55.74% on transect 1, 65.57% on transect 2, 68.85% on transect 3, 63.93% on transect 4 and 68.85% on transect 5.Keywords: Mangrove, Ecotourism, Arakan Village Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui struktur komunitas, tutupan kanopi mangrove dan kesesuaian lahan ekowisata mangrove. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode line transek terhadap struktur komunitas mangrove, wawancara untuk kuisioner dan hemispherical photography untuk persentase tutupan mangrove. Hasil penelitian struktur komunitas mangrove yaitu indeks nilai penting tertinggi terdapat pada transek 3 jenis R.stylosa 292.935 dan terendah pada transek 3 jenis A.officinalis 7.065. Untuk kesesuaian lahan ekowisata mangrove bahwa pada semua transek masuk kategori sesuai dengan nilai kesesuaian transek 1 55.74%, transek 2 nilai 65.57%, transek 3 nilai 68.85%, transek 4 nilai 63.93% dan transek 5 nilai 68.85%.Kata kunci: Mangrove, Ekowisata, Desa Arakan.

A research on " Coral Diversity in Iboih Aquatic Littoral Zone at Sukakarya District of Sabang City " has been conductedfrom 25 to 27 of May 2013.This study aims to find out the coral species and its diversity index on Iboih aquatic littoral zone at Sukakarya District of Sabang City. The datawere collected by using direct observation and non- destructive sampling techniquesusing transect methods Quadrat and Line Transect method. Physical andchemical factors were measuredincluding temperature, pH , salinity, brightness and depth.The results showed that there were 38 species out of 14 familia of coral found on Iboih aquatic littoral zone at Sukakaryadistrict of Sabangcity. The diversity Index of coral in Iboih aquatic littoral zone at Sukakarya district of Sabangcitywas high (Ĥ=3.28).

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keanekaragaman jenis burung pada perkebunan kopi di Kecamatan Bener Kelipah Kabupaten Bener Meriah Provinsi Aceh. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode titik hitung dengan metode line transek. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah burung yang terdapat diseluruh lokasi penelitian, sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah burung yang terdapat pada setiap titik pengamatan. Pengamatannya dilakukan dengan cara melakukan pencatatan jenis burung pada setiap titik pengamatan selama 20 menit. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan rumus Shannon-Wiener. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa; jumlah jenis burung yang terdapat pada perkebunan kopi di Kecamatan Bener Kelipah Kabupaten Bener Meriah adalah 12 jenis burung dari 9 familia. Keanekaragaman jenis burung pada perkebunan kopi di Kecamatan Bener Kelipah Kabupaten Bener Meriah tergolong rendah. Hal tersebut ditandai dengan indeks keanekaragaman burung Ĥ= 1, 1958. Melihat keanekaragaman jenis burung yang terdapat di kawasan Kecamatan Bener Kelipah Kabupaten Bener Meriah Provinsi Aceh tergolong rendah, maka perlu dilakukan upaya konservasi dan revegatasi pada kawasan perkebunan kopi sehingga kondisi vegetasi tumbuhan pada kawasan tersebut lebih heterogen sehingga dapat memperbaiki kondisi keanekaragaman burung pada kawasan tersebut. Kata Kunci: Keanekaragaman burung, Perkebunan Kopi dan Kecamatan Bener Kelipah This study aimed at finding out the diversity of birds in coffee plantation in Bener Kelipah Sub district, Bener Meriah Regency of Aceh Province. This study used point counts and line transect method. The population of this study was all birds in the location of the study. The samples were birds found at the observation spots. Observation was conducted by recording all types of bird found at the observation spots for 20 minutes. Data were analyzed by using Shannon-Wiener Formula. The results of the study showed that there were 12 types of bird from 9 families in the coffee plantation of Bener Kelipah Sub district, Bener Meriah Regency. The diversity of birds in the area was in low category since the bird diversity index (Ĥ) was 1, 1958. Therefore, conservation and revegetation are needed in the coffee plantation in order to create more heterogenic vegetation in the area so that it will improve the diversity of birds there. The purpose of this study was to compare the percentage of cover conditions, diversity index, uniformited index and dominance index of  life form coralin the zones reef flate and reef slope in Kampung Baru Lagoi, Bintan Regency. This research was conducted using the method Line Intersept Transect (LIT) with the line transect length used was 30 meters, three replications with a gap of 5 meters. The results showed, at point station 1 in the zone flate Reef the percentage of live coral cover was 36,92% are categorized as moderate. Forms the coral growth Life form were found as many 9 types of Life form hard corals namely ACB, ACT, ACE, ACS, ACD, CB, CM, CE, CS with a diversity index of 2,53 are categorized as moderate, a uniformited index of 0,80 are categorized as high, and a dominance index of 0,22 are categorized as low. At the point station 2 in the zone slope Reef the percentage of live coral cover was 50,44% are categorized as good. Forms of coral growth (Life form) were found as many as 8 types of Life form hard corals namely ACT, ACE, CB, CM, CE, CS, CF and CMR, with a diversity index of 2,13 are categorized as moderate, a uniformited index of 0,71 are categorized as high, and a dominance index of 0,30 are categorized as low.

Birds are one of the best-known classes of living organisms, they are important bioindicators of an ecosystem. This study was undertaken to determine the diversity and abundance of birds in Reiek Biodiversity Spot, Mizoram, northeastern India. Intensive study was conducted from January to March 2019 by line transect method. A total of 117 species of birds belonging to 37 families and 10 orders were recorded and the Shannon-Wiener diversity index was calculated (H'= 3.85). Family Muscicapidae dominated the area comprising of 16 species, followed by Timaliidae with 6 species. Among all the species recorded, Alcippe nipalensis has the highest relative abundance (13.35%), followed by Staphida castaniceps (Striated Yuhina) and Zosterops palpebrosus (Oriental White Eye) with 8.60% and 6.03% each. Family-wise relative abundance revealed that Pycnonotidae has the highest relative abundance (17.45%), followed by Sylviidae (15.91%) and Timaliidae (13.35%). The area supports a rich and diverse avian community, therefore, recommended better management of the entire landscape.

Seagrass community of Mokupa Beach waters, Tombariri sub-district, Minahasa Regency North Sulawesi was selected as study site to get information regarding the distribution, abundance, and diversity of species. Five species were identified in this study are as follow: Cymodocea rotundata, Thalassia hemprichii, Halopila ovalis, Halodule pinifolia, and Enhalus acoroides. T. hemprichii had the highest density among those 5 species with 80.266 individuals/m2, relative density 45.709 % and score of dominance index (C) 0.3269. Among three transects deployed in the study site, transect III has the highest diversity index representing by ‘H = 1.3072. The result showed that seagrass community could grow well in the area which is also shown through similar score of evenness index.Keywords: Seagrass, diversity, dominance A B S T R A K Komunitas Lamun di Perairan Desa Mokupa Kecamatan Tombariri, Kabupaten Minahasa Sulawesi Utara sebagai lokasi penelitian untuk mendapatkan informasi tentang distribusi, kelimpahan dan keanekaragaman spesies. Nilai keanekaragaman tertinggi dari ketiga transek terdapat pada transek III dengan nilai (Hʹ) 1,3072. menunjukan bahwa komunitas ini masih dapat tumbuh dengan baik di daerah tersebut. This study was aimed at revealing the structure of seagrass community in the coastal waters of Bahoi Village, West Likupang Sub-district, District of North Minahasa, North Sulawesi Province. Samples collection was conducted during the lowest tide period by deploying line transect and quadrate. Eight species of seagrasses were identified on this study, including species as follow: Enhalus acoroides, Thalassia hempricihii, Cymodocea rotundata, C. serrulata, Syringodium isoetifolium, Hlodule pinifolia, H. uninervis and Halophila ovalis. The highest density value ( 112.16 individual/m2) was calculated from transect III data on S. isoetifolium species. In term of relative density value, S. isoetifolium also has the highest value (35.176 %). Index dominance (C) was calculated as well from transect III data (0.477) while the highest diversity index  (H’) was calculated from transect I data (1.724). Indeks dominasi (C) yang tertinggi terdapat pada transek III 0.477 indeks keanekaragaman spesies (H’) yang tertinggi pada transek I 1.724.
