scholarly journals Edu Blocerts: Securing Institutional Data using Block-chain Technology

Educational Institutions are storing their data and their transactions in the physical media such as registers, books, records and in digital media like hard disks and in cloud storage. These type of storage media are insecure and are prone to data tampering. Even when they are protected with a password, they can be altered if the user’s password has been hacked, which means the traditional methods of record keeping are insecure. Blockchain has a decentralized architecture which store and secure transactions transparently and there will be no central authority over those occurring transactions. So, a model is implemented which uses the core technology of the Block-chain to store and secure the institutional data which will be in the form of transactions. These transactions can be easily viewed by anyone in the connected network. Even if the data is tampered it can be detected easily. This model has the advantages of Block-chain minus the investments and risks associated with it.

ABSTRACTTechnology has changed the way people communicate, interact and act in various tasks and activities. One of them is how people store digital data in a storage medium. Conventional storage media such as hard disks, flash disks, CD / DVDs have begun to be abandoned. One reason has begun to be abandoned is that important data is often lost along with the loss of the media. Technology, especially the internet, has become one of the solutions in the world of storage media, namely the presence of cloud technology through cloud storage. In addition to being the answer, the internet is also a means of communication through weblog media or often abbreviated as blogs. Almost the same as Cloud Computing technology, Weblog is a blog collaboration tool so that not only a user can do blogging activities, but is done together, from anywhere and at any time. Weblogs can be an effective media of information about an organization's activities. These two things are the background of the plan of Community Service activities at SMAN 11 Buluh Island Batam. For teachers, cloud storage technology has been introduced through lectures and hands-on training, while for the student council management has been trained on how to design a weblog in accordance with the needs of the school, especially the students. Teachers can take advantage of the benefits of cloud storage for various purposes. The management of OSIS SMAN 11 Buluh Islah Batam can have a means of communication and creativity event with webloging activities.

At this time, computer systems and networks are an essential part of human life. The number can see this of computer users in the office or on campus, and at school. This need has reached a relatively large number. To access data, many computer users in the network continue to increase, impacting the selection of servers, and large data storage media is necessary. Currently, the storage media that is often used to store data still uses physical media such as hard disks, flash disks that are virus-prone and easy to lose. Another problem also arises when physical storage has a relatively high price compared to cloud storage that can be accessed anywhere when needed.

This article presents the paradigm shift, especially in school education, under the conditions of current mediatization, whereby we understand education initially as a communicative system that is dedicated to the acquisition of new and future relevant knowledge in lifelong processes of appropriation. To this end, educational institutions demand an educational language that screens out those who cannot serve that linguistic register. Arguing with regard to Rawls and Nussbaum, we present this selection mechanism under the conditions of current mediatization as both ideologically outdated and practically reducible and refer to current models of professionalization of teachers and international competency frameworks for digital media education.

Data is a very important need for an Education institute, one of them is SMK Persatuan Ummat Islam. Because data is an important asset that must be protected and protected by its security. For this reason, a media is needed that can store data that are important and valuable assets so that they are guaranteed security and maintenance. Data processing is connected to the local area network (LAN) of SMK Persatuan Ummat Islam. Storage media with good and reliable performance will certainly greatly assist agencies for data storage in improving information access services at educational institutions. It is very important to secure data from the server so that it is necessary to backup the data by adding software or hardware as a backup server computer. To be guaranteed the data backup process periodically requires an application that can backup data automatically from the server or client. NAS4Free is a server with a Linux-based operating system that is very specialized to handle data storage centrally, so that it becomes one of the very good solutions to be implemented, because by using one media as a center of data storage can reduce the risk of data loss or data damage. And can restore (restore) data if the computer is damaged. So that the hope can facilitate the work of educators and education staff in improving services in educational institutions using data backup in ensuring the security and maintenance of data which are important and valuable assets

Purpose Increasingly, the content that libraries collect is no longer on paper, a long-lived, medium whose technology changes very slowly and with which they have centuries of experience. Instead, it is stored on relatively short-lived digital media whose technology appears to change rapidly and with which they have little history. The paper aims to discuss this issue. Design/methodology/approach The storage media industry is highly competitive and is currently evolving rapidly as flash, a solid state medium, displaces spinning disk from many applications. Long-term archival storage is a small part of the total storage market. It typically re-uses media and systems intended for more general bulk storage. Findings What are the medium-term prospects for change in this market? Originality/value Much of this material has appeared in blog posts and talks aimed at storage experts, such as the recent DARPA workshop on future of storage. It is presented here for a librarian audience with the necessary additional exposition and background.

Internet of Things has been increasing its usage and recognition in vast sectors like Defence, Business, Industries, and Hospitals. The data disruption is strictly unacceptable in a number of these sectors because it could end up in serious Loss or Damages to the entire system. As of now, IOT is using a central cloud storage system for information storage and transactions. However, some examples already verified that Central cloud storage information might be hacked and changed by the specialists. This paper presents an IoT system having localized block chain storage which works on real time data and manipulates with narrowness of data interruption and modification and its recovery.

During the past half-a-century the education sector has grown in size and significance in most parts of the world. In what is talked about as a knowledge or information society, the time spent in educational institutions increases. One of the most important game-changers for education, and for educational research, is digitization and the growing reliance on digital resources in most activities in our daily lives. One of the many consequences of this development is that children early on in their lives make use of and adapt to digital media. It is argued that in this new media ecology the classical questions we ask about access to education and success and failure will continue to be important for educational research. At the same time, education as a discipline should consider the profound ways in which our knowledge and skills rely on coordination with symbolic technologies; we increasingly know by and through such resources, and this insight should guide the development of instructional practices. In addition, we should contribute to a debate about what “Bildung” and critical citizenship should be in a world which is going increasingly digital.

Electronic Medical Records are now widely used by medical organizations as a replacement for physical manual records of the patients. These Electronic Medical Records (EMR) were effectively adopted as a result of the evolution in the field of Information technology supported by more innovative computer science engineering feats, as the EMR systems became more advanced it still had a drawback of being vulnerable to cyber attacks, which will eventually compromise the integrity and confidentiality. Hence the same EMR system is built along with the use of Block-chain technology on a cloud storage platform, this system will be integrated with various features compatible for the interoperability between the patients and medical service providers. The main objective of this project is to leverage maximum cyber protection to the EMR system.
