ABSTRACTThe learning process centered on teachers thus leading students cannot think by themselves and build own knowledge so that students easily forget any lesson taught that resulted in poor study results. The learning process and environment which involves students participate actively is required. Therefore, this study examined the differences in the results of learning and memory of students taught with and without media concept maps in cooperative learning model NHT on the material salt hydrolysis. This study included a quasi-experimental design with Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The population in the study were all students of Mathematics XI consist of four classes with the number of students to 160 people. Samples were taken using purposive sampling with class XI MIPA1 as an experimental class and class XI MIPA2 as controls. Collecting data using measurement techniques, direct observation, and direct communication, while the data collection tool is a test description, the observation sheet and interview guidelines. Based on test data analysis using non-parametric Mann-Whitney U showed there were differences in the results of student learning and memory. Effect size obtained for the results of student learning and memory was 0.44 and 0.85 including in the criteria for medium and high, which affact to 17.00% towards learning outcomes of students and 30.23% of the students' memory. Keywords: memory, learning outcomes, salt hydrolysis, media concept maps, cooperative learning model NHT

The objective of the study was to identify the impact of co-digesting clarifier skimmings on the overall methane generation from the treatment plant and additional energy value of the increased methane production. Biogas production from co-digesting clarifier skimmings and sewage sludge in pilot-scale fed-batch mesophilic anaerobic digesters has been evaluated. The digester was fed with increasing quantities of clarifier skimmings loads: 1.5, 2.6, 3.5 and 7.0 g COD equivalent/(L·d) (COD: chemical oxygen demand). Average volatile solids reduction of 65% was achieved in the scum-fed digester, compared with 51% in the control digester. Average 69% COD removal was achieved at highest scum loading (7 g COD eq/(L·d)) with approximate methane yield of 250 L CH4/kg COD fed (4 ft3/lb COD fed). The results show that scum as co-substrate in anaerobic digestion systems improves biogas yields while a 29% increase in specific CH4 yield could be achieved when scum load is 7 g COD eq/(L·d). Based on the pilot-scale study results and full-scale data from South East Water Pollution Control Plant and Northeast Water Pollution Control Plant the expected annual energy recovery would be approximately 1.7 billion BTUs or nearly 0.5 million kWh.

The purpose of this paper is to describe the Problem Posing learning model with Task and Forced Strategy. As for the background of this writing is because of difficulties in understanding the material and also lack of enthusiasm of students in learning the material so that the impact on student learning outcomes is still low. The low student learning outcomes are, of course, many factors, one of which is the problem of applying a learning model that is still teacher-centered, so students tend to be passive. For this reason, the teacher can use the Problem Posing learning model that is modified by the task and force strategy (Task and Forced). Problem Posing learning model is a learning model that requires students to develop their systematic reasoning skills in making questions and answering questions. While the task and force strategy (Task and Forced) is a learning strategy that has little effect on students to complete the task until it is completed and on time to avoid the punishment given by the teacher as a consequence. So that students will be motivated in listening, understanding the material delivered and doing assignments on time. By combining this model and strategy can be a solution so that the learning process becomes quality.

This writing aims to make students more active and disciplined in the learning process and can also increase creativity and learning outcomes. The low mathematics learning outcomes are not only due to difficult mathematics, but are caused by several factors which include students themselves, teachers, learning approaches, and learning environments that are interconnected with each other. To improve the ability and results of learning it is necessary to make modifications to the task learning strategy and force. Quantum learning is a tip, a guide, a strategy and an entire learning process that can sharpen understanding and memory, and make learning a pleasant and useful process. Task and Forced Learning Strategies are strategies that focus on giving assignments and a little coercion so that students complete their tasks on time so that the learning process can run effectively. Therefore, the writer modifies the model of quantum learning with task and forced learning strategies, the results of this modification show that learning with quantum learning models with forced and task strategies can improve the learning process so that students become more disciplined in doing tasks, can motivate student learning, and can improve student learning outcomes.

An estimated 80 % of all illnesses in developing countries is in one way or another related to water. In order to alleviate this most serious condition, the united Nations has initiated the “International Water Decade”, for which the estimated costs are $600 000 million, a sum which is far beyond any available means. By application of “low-cost technology” this sum could be reduced to $100 000 million which brings the objective within the reach of possibility. Details are given of the design and methods of construction of units which are best suited to the specific requirements and which would be simple, reliable and economical to operate. These can be constructed largely from local materials and by local labour. The need for appropriate training of both operators and the user population is stressed.
