Burkholderia pseudomallei and Burkholderia mallei are etiologic agents of glanders and melioidosis, the particularly dangerous infections of animals and humans, and are attributed to potential agents of bioterrorism. The manifestation of diseases ranges from acute septicemia to chronic infection, any organs and tissues are affected, andtreatment requires long intravenous and oral antibiotic courses. The endemic zone of glanders and melioidosis covers spacious regions in the world, and the number of imported cases to temperate regions is constantly increasing. For the Russian Federation, glanders and melioidosis are «forgotten» and «unknown» infections, and this review presents current data on their distribution in the world, epidemiological aspects, and laboratory diagnosis features.

Objective of the study was to monitor the spread of cholera in the world, in the CIS countries and in Russia with an assessment of risks and emergencies that contribute to the activation of the epidemic process. Despite the downward trend in the global incidence rate of cholera during the period between 2010 and 2019, epidemics and major outbreaks occurred in 96 countries. WHO has reported 2013 imported cases of cholera to countries in Asia, the Americas, including the Caribbean, Europe, and Australia with Oceania; cholera-endemic administrative territories are identified in 24 countries. According to WHO, cholera burden reduction in Asia and Africa is associated with large-scale vaccination. During epidemiological surveillance of cholera, 705 strains of V. cholerae O1 and O139 serogroups were isolated from surface reservoirs in 26 constituent entities of the Russian Federation, including 10 strains of V. cholerae O1 ctxA+tcpA+, 35 strains of V. cholerae O1 ctxA–tcpA+, 655 strains of V. cholerae O1 ctxA–tcpA– , and five strains of V. cholerae O139 ctxA–tcpA–. Identification of strains with unique, previously unknown INDEL genotypes testifies to their imported nature. The forecast for cholera in the world for 2020, given the proven high degree of epidemic process activation at the expense of social and environmental risks caused by emergencies of different origin, the presence of endemic foci, infection import and other risk factors is unfavorable. For Russia, the forecast for cholera will be determined by the presence of external risks created by the ongoing 7-th pandemic, possible importation of infection to constituent entities of the Russian Federation that differ by the types of epidemic manifestations.

Traditionally the Cushing’s disease (CD) is considered a rare disease. Since 2012 СD has the official status of an orphan disease in the Russian Federation. Now prevalence of this disease in the world are from 1,5 to 3,9 cases of CD on 1 million people of the population. The reason of CD is the adenoma of a hypophysis (сortiсotropinoma). The “gold” standard of therapeutic tactics of patients with CD is the transsphenoidal surgery. However in 20% of cases after the radical treatment  fail to achieve remission of pathological process. Now in an arsenal of the neuroendocrinologist we have various methods of  therapy, including various methods of drug therapy. The focus of  preparations are central type action:  analogs of a somatostatin. The representative of this group of preparations is Pasireotid who has proved the efficiency by results of the multicenter clinical trials. This review  focuses of the current   state of knowledge about methods of treatment of CD, about new therapeutic opportunities with application of analogs of a somatostatin.

At the present time settlement, land use and resources-use systems existing on most of the territory of Russia are still poorly estimated, they are poorly adapted to contemporary economic situation and the possibilities of their efficient use are not analyzed. The majority of archive and statistical information about the territories is out of date, because in had been collected and analyzed in the end of 1980s. Such information can’t be the basis for constructing a plan of prospective development. The article is dedicated to the currency and advantages of the use of innovative methods of laser scanning for solving the problems of spatial planning, design, reconstruction and construction. Some information on the world experience of using laser scanning is offered as an exemplification of flexibility and efficiency of their use in different branches of business activity. It is suggested to implement the methods of laser scanning for the tasks of the further creation of geographic information system on the territory of the Russian Federation containing current data information. The author also gives examples of the use and the advantages of laser scanning of Baikal-Amur Mainline and Trans-Siberian areas, laser scanning of the highway “High-speed network Moscow-Kazan”, highway M-4 Don.

The review considers the relevant aspects of laboratory diagnosis of rabies. The methods of laboratory diagnostics of rabies infection, standardized by WHO in 2018, and their use in the Russian Federation are presented. The scheme of laboratory diagnostics of rabies, applied by specialists of the “48th CRI” of the Ministry of Defense of Russia, for the study of biological samples from deceased people is outlined. Between 2002 and 2018, the study of biomaterial was carried out using molecular-biological, virological methods of diagnosis and in some cases electron microscopy, which allowed to detect and identify the pathogen in 257 samples from 71 people, to certify and deposit new isolates of the rabies virus. Accumulation and analysis of the lessons learned in the application of molecular-biological method of rabies diagnosis allows us to recommend the use of RT-PCR, real-time RT-PCR sets (having a certificate of state registration) in healthcare and veterinary medicine practice to identify the causative agent of rabies infection. The use of molecular-biological methods is promising in terms of the development of rabies diagnosis to improve epidemiological surveillance and raise the efficiency of the biological protection of the population of the Russian Federation.

The article presents historical aspects of the development of epidemiological surveillance in the world and in the Russian Federation. The contribution of outstanding researchers to the development of theoretical bases for epidemiological surveillance of infectious and parasitic diseases is shown. The directions of improving epidemiological surveillance in modern conditions are considered in connection with the trends in the development of the epidemic situation, the emergence of «new» and the return of «old» infections, the rapid development of means and diagnostic methods, as well as taking into account the existing limitations.

The article considers the current state and prospects for the development of automobile tour-ism in the world, the Russian Federation and the Saratov region in particular. It is justified that the development of automobile tourism has a positive impact on the economy. Modern prerequisites are presented and the main factors limiting the growth of automobile tourism are analyzed. It is shown that the main direction of the development of automobile tourism is the creation of automobile tourist clusters in favorable territories. It is proposed to develop an intelligent transport system for automatic construction of autotouristic routes based on the principles of categorizing transport flow parameters.

The aim. The article highlights the current state of the problem of mumps in the world and the Russian Federation.Materials and methods. The materials of the study were electronic resources WHO infection control, Cohrane, Elsevier, ScienceDirect, CDC infection diseases database, PubMed, eLibrary, CyberLeninka. The research methods were the analysis and generalization of scientific literature. The assessment is presented by the immunological structure of the population in different age groups to mumps (n = 593) in the study area (2018) according to the data of the Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology in the Perm Territory.Results. The spread of mumps is found to be widespread and uneven in different regions of the world in the form of sporadic cases and large epidemic outbreaks, despite the world practice of vaccine prevention of mumps. Analysis of the immunological structure to mumps in different age groups revealed a fairly high number of seronegative individuals (the largest number was found among adults aged 20–39 years) in the study area (2018). A decrease in the tension of post-vaccination immunity is the main cause for the emergence of an outbreak among the adult population, in addition to vaccination failures among vaccinated children. The immune defenses created by the vaccine strain do not have the same intensity and duration as with natural infection, and some genotypes of “wild” variants of the mumps virus can break through the immune barrier and cause disease. Antigenic differences between vaccine and circulating strains, low inoculation dose can weaken immunity and reduce the effectiveness of mass vaccine prevention.Conclusion. Ways of solving the problem were proposed to forestall an unfavorable epidemic situation with mumps.
