The need for food depends on the availability in the environment. Foods needed to meet daily needs should be healthy and free of pollutants, including heavy metals. White snapper (Lates calcarifer) is often found in the estuary of the river in almost all parts of Indonesia, even in Papua. The purpose of this research is to study the heavy metal content of Pb, Cd, Cu, Fe, As, and Hg on white snapper (L. calcarifer) which live in Mimika Papua estuary waters. The estuary waters of Mimika are known as one of the deposition areas of tailings sand. The method used is survey and laboratory analysis of heavy metal content in fish body. Analysis of Pb, Cd, Cu, Fe, and Hg was determined by Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS). Determination of the level of heavy metal contamination was done by Standard Method of APHA 3113 Cetac Technologies SPR IDA. Data analysis was done by comparing the heavy metal content in water with sea water quality standard according to SK MNLH No. 51 year 2004. For heavy metal content in fish body organs compared with maximum content of heavy metals based on SNI 7387: 2009 on the maximum limit of heavy metal food contamination. The content of heavy metals in white snapper is still considered safe for consumption because its below the quality standard threshold. This condition is supported by the results of heavy metal analysis on the water which shows still in good condition. Key words: L. calcarifer, heavy metal, Kamora River, Ajkwa River, Mimika.

Abstract The objective of the study was to establish the effect of component share in mixtures and harvest date on concentrations of selected heavy metals in the green fodder of field pea, oat, and their mixtures. The research hypothesis assumed that the cultivation of peas and oats in pure sowing, and in mixtures will also allow to choose combinations from which the forage will have the lowest content of heavy metals. Field research was conducted at the Zawady Experimental Farm (52° 03′ 39″ N, 22° 33′ 80″ E) which belongs to Siedlce University of Natural Sciences and Humanities. Two factors were tested in the study: I—component share in the mixture: field pea—pure stand 100%, oat—pure stand 100%, field pea 75% + oat 25%, field pea 50% + oat 50%, field pea 25% + oat 75%; II—harvest date: field pea flowering stage, field pea flat pod stage. Plant material was sampled to determine the following elements: Cu, Zn, Cd, Pb, Cr, and Ni. The results of the study demonstrated that field pea grown in pure stand had the highest copper and zinc contents, and the lowest chromium and nickel contents. Field pea mixed with oat significantly reduced heavy metal content in green fodder. Cadmium and lead contents in the green fodder of field pea/oat mixtures were too low to be determined by means of the spectrometer Perkin Elmer Optima 8300. Regular checks of heavy metal contents are recommended in spite of their low amounts in the green fodder of field pea/oat mixtures.

AbstractEnvironment Agency Jambi Province in 2014 stipulates that the Batanghari River uncategorised heavy pollution with the effluent of 0.3265 ppm. The river water flow into the Lake Sipin, so worried farmers catfish (Pangasius hypopthalmus) in the floating  nets cage on heavy metal pollution Hg when exceeding quality standards. The content of Hg was observed through the method of survey study purposive sampling with 4 stations for 3 weeks of observation with sample analysis Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer. The observation that the accumulation of heavy metals mercury (Hg) meat catfish in the lake Sipin from 0.0930 to 0.3960 ppm. Hg content is in torelansi SNI standards for heavy metals Hg categories food fishery products including mollusks and shrimp is 1 ppm and 0.5 ppm for predatory fish. So fish farming Lake Sipin still safe for consumption humans..Hg value of water is observed from 0.0001 to 0.0009 ppm. Hg content was lower when compared to the water quality standard by the Ministry of Environment No. 51 In 2004 the threshold value for the biota is 0.001 mg / l (ppm). Then the category of heavy metal content of Hg in the waters of Lake Sipin still at the threshold of normal. Occurrence repaired Hg waters presumably because the number found fish brooms, Hypostomus plecostomus and plant water hyacinth, Eichhornia crassipes which absorbed Hg in the waters. The state of water quality when the observation temperatures averaging 30-32 ° C, pH 6.6 to 7.4 and DO 7.0 to 8.4 ppm. The range of this parameter is feasible for the cultivation of catfish (Pangasius Hyphopthalmus), as it supports the growth and survival. Keywords: Bioaccumulation Hg, Lake Sipin, catfish AbstrakBadan Lingkungan Hidup Provinsi Jambi pada tahun 2014 menetapkan bahwa Sungai Batanghari  dikategorikan tercemari berat dengan limbah 0,3265 ppm.
