Years ago, when people talked about the work of a bank, they would come up with answers such as accepting deposits and providing loans, but today the scenario has changed, nowadays it’s more like bankinganytime, banking anywhere. This requires an innovative, robust, secure, optimized and agile platform to meet the expectations of empowered and tech-savvy customers. This is due to digitalization of banks. Change of data into a digital database with appropriate use of technology is called as digitalization. The concept of digitalization is not a mere transformation from traditional methods of banking towards a digital method. It is a crucial change how banks and other financial institutions learn about, interact and satisfy customers. Banks are the backbone of any economy. Banking sector is the largest and vital player in financial sector, it plays a dominant role in the development of the individual as well as the nation. IT (information technology) has given a push new innovations and methods in the product development and their delivery in the banking and finance sector. The focus of banking is shifting from mass banking to class banking. The start of value added and customized products and services leads them to technology enable banking. The main objective of this paper is to understand the impact as well as the pros and cons of digitalization. The banking sector has been considered as one of the primary adopters of Information and Communications Technologies. Especially during the last years, they have invested a lot into the digital transformation of their business process. Concerning their retail customers, banks realized very early the great potential abilities to provide value added self-services functions via mobile devices, mainly smartphones to them; thus, they have invested a lot into m-banking apps’ functionality. Furthermore, the COVID-19 pandemic has brought out different ways for financial transactions and even more mobile users have taken advantage of m-banking app services. Thus, the purpose of this empirical paper is to investigate the determinants that impact individuals on adopting or not m-banking apps. Specifically, it examines two groups of individuals, users (adopters) and non-users (non-adopters) of m-banking apps, and aims to reveal if there are differences and similarities between the factors that impact them on adopting or not this type of m-banking services. To our knowledge, this is the second scientific attempt where these two groups of individuals have been compared on this topic. The paper proposes a comprehensive conceptual model by extending Venkatech’s et al. (2003) Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) with ICT facilitators (i.e., reward and security) and ICT inhibitors (i.e., risk and anxiety), as well as the recommendation factor. However, this study intends to fill the research gap by investigating and proving for the first time the impact of social influence, reward and anxiety factors on behavioral intention, the relationship between risk and anxiety and the impact of behavioral intention on recommendation via the application of Confirmatory Factor Analysis and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) statistical techniques. The results reveal a number of differences regarding the factors that impact or not these two groups towards m-banking app adoption; thus, it provides new insights regarding m-banking app adoption in a slightly examined scientific field. Thus, the study intends to assist the banking sector in better understanding their customers with the aim to formulate and apply customized m-business strategies and increase not only the adoption of m-banking apps but also the level of their further use.

This study examines the impact of technology on the performance of financial investment in banking companies listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange to prove its influence on the development of the banking company's financial performance. The data used in this research is secondary data uses financial statements that have been audited. Data analysis technique used is simple regression analysis. Results showed that between investments in information technology affect the company's financial performance. The results of this study illustrate that the company's financial performance would be if the investment in information technology in the company are used effectively and efficiently. This research is important for companies and organizations, in order to better the use or utilization of information technology in the enterprise. The company is only limited to the banking companies listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange, then further research is recommended to add criteria and indicator others that have not been addressed in this study, in addition to subsequent authors can also extend the sample population to another company with a different field such as manufacturing companies.

The eleventh issue of Ushus brings to you a wide variety of scholarly articles encompassing socio-economic and managerial issues. The first paper "Information technology and banking sector with reference to customer satisfaction" focuses on the impact of automation of the public sector banks as per the reflections of the bank officials and the customers. The crest of the article lies in the fact that the customers are being able to keep abreast with the exchange of automation in the modern banking practices and the survey brings out their perception towards it and throws some light on the effective ways to deal with this crisis. The study concludes with the analytical results that public sector bank customers have a positive inclination towards technological upgradation but the banks need to be more flexible in their work process and focus on marketing themselves in order to entrap a larger customer base. The paper titled "Administration of micro-credit by national bank" talks about the successful micro-finance initiatives taken by NABARD how aptly they had been implemented and evolved as a sustainable social movement over a decade now.

The banking sector is one of the biggest and revenue generating sector in our economy. Indiais a country with impressively splendid banks with sufficient capital and well-regulated rulesand regulations. One of the biggest transformations that the sector faced during this period isGST i.e., Goods and Service Tax, a new tax regime introduced in the midnight of 1 July2017. Now the new tax regime has become one year old and there are so many changeswhich happened in the banking sector during this one-year periods. Introduction of GST tothe banking sector was one the highly risky and challenging role for the government. GST isa replacement to the Value Added Tax (VAT) which was implied on goods and services. Themain purpose of studying the impact of implementation of GST is to avoid double taxationon goods and services. It is a self-regulated tax system with a simplifies tax regime whichreduces the multiplicity of tax. The purpose of this study is to know the challenges faced bythe Banking sector and its effects on the customers after the implementation of the GST.New tax regime made an incredible step by the abolish of centralized registration of thebanks. Now all the bank branches have to register under GST in each state for the smoothfunctioning. The tax rate has created an impression in the banking sector that the sector iscontributing much toward the economic growth of the country. Tax slabs is anotherimportant and critical thing discussed in this paper which has substantially increasedcompared to the old tax regime. Data for the study have been collected from secondary datasources such as journals, internet, and news articles. Using the ABCD qualitative analysistechnique, advantages, benefits, constraints, and disadvantages for both banks and thecustomers for payment of GST are identified.

Raman and Marcus (2007) have studied the impact of Automation in Public sector Banks as per the reflections of bank customers and bank officials belong to Chennai region. Marcus (2006) studied the public sector banks with special reference to selected branches in Chennai city and the perception of customers due to inception of Information Technology in the banking sector. Customers vary in their perception on information technology. In reality, customers are not against for automation and IT inception. The main concern for them is the delay in transaction due to technical snag and the increased cost of operation due to automation. Most of the customers have accounts in the private sector banks and they are well informed about the new development and up gradation that is happening in those banks. The customers believe that crores of money is being spent by the banks in the name of developing software, training the staff in IT and in providing better ambience to keep abreast with the private banks, but the ultimate outcome of which is not noteworthy.The present study is based on the reflections of 674 bank customers of the public sector banks who have various types of bank accounts in the branches of Chennai city. Branches of public sector banks in Chennai city, consisting of 19 nationalized banks and State Bank of India with its 7 Associates were covered in the process. A wide range of customers through various domains of banking operations have been studied to identify their overall perception.

Research background: The coronavirus pandemic in 2020 had a significant impact on all aspects of life, from the point of view of the individual by forcing social isolation, moving work and study to the home, enormous pressure on the social and health system, but also by forcing closures of services and direct contact with customers. These, as well as other factors, have also had an impact on the performance of economies around the world. Purpose of the article: The paper aims to evaluate the development of the world's major economies in terms of macroeconomic indicators and foreign trade in the pandemic period and previous periods. The social and environmental aspects of the impact of the pandemic on selected economies are also reflected. Methods: Analysis of the main macroeconomic data, comparison and synthesis of findings. Findings & Value added: The interdependence of economies and interconnectedness of markets on transport routes associated with reduced mobility, forced isolation of people and death of economic activity had a significant impact on all the observed indicators, where a significant decline in GDP could be observed in all countries except China. This country was the only one that managed to keep GDP growth in positive numbers. Unemployment development was not equal in the observed economies due to different labour market environment. On the contrary, the environment has benefited in some way.

This article revisits the relationship between IT and productivity, and investigates the impact on information technology (IT) investments. Using the MARS techniques, we show that although IT Stock is the greatest predictor variable for productivity (Value Added), it is only significant as an interaction variable, combined with Non-IT Capital, Non-IT Labor, Industry, or Size.

This chapter begins by explaining that financialization since the financial crisis has continued. The chapter then shows how the real culture of banking has not changed as a result. It examines the business models of the largest Anglo-American banks and the impact of Quantitative Easing to show the disconnect between the banks and their respective economies. It then examines rising household indebtedness, and the lending practices of the banks that exploit the heavily indebted. Finally it explores pay in the financial sector, showing that fixed and variable remuneration remain out of proportion to the value-added of the banking sector, and disproportionately high compared to pay in most other sectors. The conclusion we should draw is that bank culture has actually changed very little.

In recent years the services sector has been playing a dominant role in economic and social life, as reflected by its predominant share in the creation of gross value added, and a growing share of employment. The aim of the article is to draw attention to the development of financial and banking services in Poland as compared to other EU countries. To assess the similarity between the countries multidimensional scaling method was used. The research was based on data for 2014 derived from the European Central Bank. Most of the indicators compared showed a significant — but decreasing — distance between Poland and other EU countries. The results obtained allow us to conclude that the development of the banking sector both in Poland and in other EU countries depends on the level of economic development and the situation on the banking market.

India is currently going through major reforms in its overall economic sectors.GST is one such kind of great reform. GST is unified indirect tax across the country on the Goods and Services. In the earlier system of Indirect Tax, the tax is levied at each stage separately by the Central Government and State Government at different rates, on the full value of goods as well as the services. But in this GST system, tax will be levied only the value added at each stage. So the government states that this GST is ―one India one Tax‖.This paper focuses on the concept, the benefits which the country will accrue from GST, the impact of GST on manufacturing, entertainment and Service Sectors.
