This study aimed to analyse the effective communication skills among married couples for building and maintaining strong couple relationships. The results of the study have an important implication for couple communication includes theory and lays the foundation in their relationship toolbox. Most theoretical, explaining the degree of ambiguity in the models governing couples’ expectations for and self-disclosure performance responsibilities affects the behaviour change. These factors appear to have dominated the development of theory to facilitate efficient tasks, minimize bids for influence, enable partners to feel effective and respected. While the process of adjustment and adaptation entail continued negotiation of responsibilities, repeated demands, directives, and tension within the couple. Couple therapy reflects the outcome of reduced relationship distress and communication skills that affect individual psychopathology, such as depression and the shortcomings of psychological interventions for preventing marital distress. These efforts may lead to successful adjustment to prevent marital distress that produces short-term changes in behaviour and relationship satisfaction, but little evidence exists demonstrating a long-term prevention effect. The value of studying couple’s communication pattern by using principles from psychology, concern about the negative impact of marital conflict and strengthened in response to the demands imposed more comprehensive outcome measured. Therefore, conceptualizing and measuring quality rooted an important theory and interventions that prioritize couple communication skills as the key predictor of relationship satisfaction, while raising new questions about other factors that might predict strengthen or moderate their association. As results, these findings shows a supporting understanding about what interaction and transactional processes take place in couples that the interpersonal communications skills between couples can predict satisfaction of their marital life. Abstract Background: Marital life is an important social institution that greatly influences the health and well-being of individuals and the entire society. Inherently, marriage is a complex phenomenon that the risks for marital instability are ubiquitous including social upheavals, stay home order due to Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID 19). Several studies have been proposed different interventions to optimize the quality of marital life. However, problems related to marital conflict are getting worse and there are uncertainties about the effectiveness of the interventions. Thus, the current systematic review was aimed at examining the effectiveness of interventions in reducing a variety of aspects of marital conflict among the cohort of married couples.Methods: Randomized controlled trial (RCT) and Qazi experimental studies describing the effectiveness of marital couple interventions published over the last 10 years were retrieved from six electronic databases using different search terms, Medical subject heading (MeSH) terms “Marital therapy”, “Couple therapy”, or “Marital couple therapy” included in this study. The risk of bias in individual studies assessed based on the Cochrane Risk of Bias Tool. The effectiveness of the interventions was examined by comparing the intervention group with those who did not receive the intervention. Results: A total of 14, 536 records are searched from 6 databases, and eleven of these studies are included in the final systematic review and meta-analysis. Overall, the included studies were identified to have a low risk of bias and a substantial level of heterogeneity (I2 =96%). The meta-analysis confirmed that marital couple’s interventions significantly improved marital conflict among distressed couples (Pooled effect size, -1.71, [-2.93, -0.49])Conclusions: This finding indicated that marital couples’ interventions effectively reduce marital conflict among a cohort of married couples. Thus, marital counselors and educators are strongly suggested to compile and use the interventions outline in this study. Four married couples were recruited from an outpatient alcohol counselling centre. Four husbands and one wife had recently received therapy for alcoholism and all but one was abstinent during the study. All scored as distressed on the Marital Adjustment Test. They participated in ten sessions of behavioural marital therapy emphasising positive reinforcement, communication, expression of feelings and problem solving. Problem solving discussions were audio-recorded at each session and analysed using a behaviour code. Measures of marital satisfaction, conflict and depression showed modest gains which were generally maintained at follow-up. Communication skills improved most with training, problem solving less so and feelings expression declined below baseline levels. These changes did not appear to be very durable. The non-abstinent client reduced his drinking to a level satisfactory to his wife during therapy. These findings support other recent work, draw attention to the need to find ways of promoting the maintenance and transfer of therapeutic changes and suggest that behavioural marital therapy may usefully be employed in outpatient alcohol counselling settings.

Marital dissatisfaction is the most common presenting problem in adults seeking psychological services and is rated as the second most severe stress adults can experience after a death in the family. Almost every married couple is, at some time, at risk for marital distress, conflict, separation, and divorce and for the resulting stress on themselves and their children. Traditionally, theory and practice have focused on tertiary prevention of marital distress (i.e., marital therapies). However, marital therapy has limited efficacy and accesses only limited numbers of couples. Poor communication and dissatisfaction with interactions, assessed premaritally, are strong predictors of marital distress. Several marital distress prevention programs have been developed which generally or specifically target communication behaviour of pre- and early married couples. Outcome evaluations suggest such programs can lead to improved communication and problem-solving skills, improved relationship satisfaction, lower levels of marital violence, and diminished probability of marital dissolution. Suggestions for future research include a more fine-grained analysis of situation-specific cognition, affect, and psychophysiological responses during communication, incorporation of a self-regulatory model within prevention work, and the use of longitudinal research designs.

Communication is fundamental and vital to all administrative functions and communication is a means of transmitting information and making oneself understood by another or others, Sanchez & Guo (2005). Good communication skills are very important to ones success as an administrator, Yate (2009). This paper discusses how the lack of communication can affect production within organizations and provides guidelines on how both management and employees can create effectiveness by improving their communication skills. Various methods including surveys, questionnaires and interviews will be used through a descriptive research to generate the information that will guide the research. Person’s communication skills affect both personal and organisational effectiveness, Brun (2010); summers (2010). It seems reasonable to conclude that one of the most inhibiting forces to organisational effectiveness is a lack of effective communication, Lutgen-Sandvik (2010). The purpose of this study is to investigate the lack of communication between management and staff in different organizations. The objective is to identify the causes for miscommunication between management and staff, to investigate the kind of effects that the lack of communication would have on different organizations, to provide recommendations on improving the lack of communication, between management and staff throughout organizations.

Abstract Communication is a process of sharing information through speech, writing, gestures or symbols between two or more people. The focus of the present paper is oral communication and the language under consideration is English. The teacher should adopt a student centered approach. The learners should be encouraged to do things in the class which result in developing their communication skills. The trainer has to focus on both the linguistic and paralinguistic features of the communication process while enhancing learners’ communication skills. These features involve the effective use of words, forming grammatically intelligible sentences and an appropriate use of voice and intonation. The teacher should encourage and train his students to use positive body language while listening and speaking. In order to hone the communication skills of the learners, it is very important to make the learners comfortable with the language they have to communicate in. Shedding their inhibitions is also one of the pivotal areas of concerns. This paper explores different techniques that could be useful while training students in communication skills. Communication is a process of sharing information through speech, writing, gestures or symbols between two or more people. The focus of the present paper is oral communication and the language under consideration is English. The major elements of a communication process are sender, receiver, message and feedback. Effective communication is a two way process. It involves both expressive (speaking) skills and receptive (listening) skills. It entails receiver’s understanding of the message sent by the sender and his feedback to the sender. Listening plays a very important role in the language learning process. It is the most primary of the four basic skills of any language i.e. Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing. Listening paves way for speaking. One can never be a good speaker if one is not a good listener. An effective communicator is first a good listener and then a good speaker. According to Tickoo ( 2003 ), ‘Good listening skills not only lay the foundations of good speech, but they grow best through effective communication’.

The present study was conducted to examine the relationship between organisational stress and organisational citizenship behaviours (OCBs) in employees of call centers. The study also further explored as how stress at work set-up has negative impact on OCBs. A sample of 250 employees working in call centre of Gurgaon belonging to an age group of 25-30 years were selected on availability basis. All were working married couples living in nuclear families. Job stress survey (Spielberger & Vagg, 1999) and Organisational Citizenship Behaviour (Bateman & Organ, 1983) were administered. Data was analysed by using simple correlation and multiple regression. Results showed the negative relationship between organisational stress and OCBs. Results of regression analysis also exhibited the negative impact of stress on OCBs. The implications for the employees are discussed.

The present laboratory-based study investigated socioeconomic status (SES) as a moderator of the association between empathic accuracy and well-being among married couples from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds. Empathic accuracy was measured using a performance-based measure of empathic accuracy for one’s spouse’s negative emotions during a marital conflict conversation. Aspects of well-being included well-being (i.e., positive affect, life satisfaction), ill-being (i.e., negative affect, anxiety symptoms, depressive symptoms), and marital satisfaction. SES was measured using a composite score of income and education. Findings showed that SES moderated associations between empathic accuracy and well-being. Empathic accuracy was beneficial (for well-being and ill-being) or not harmful (for marital satisfaction) at low levels of SES. In contrast, empathic accuracy was not beneficial (for well-being and ill-being) or harmful (for marital satisfaction) at high levels of SES. Results were robust (controlled for age, gender, and race). Findings are discussed in light of interdependence vs. independence in low- vs. high-SES contexts and highlight the importance of socioeconomic context in determining whether empathic accuracy benefits well-being or not.

Previous research suggests that more negative or less positive couple communication can be stressful and that chronic stress can lead to less healthy patterns of physiological stress functioning. Our goal was to investigate whether couples’ observed communication behaviors and reported relationship conflict were related to diurnal cortisol patterns, an important indicator of hypothalamic–pituitary–adrenal axis functioning. Sixty-two couples ( n = 124 individuals) reported marital conflict and were video-recorded engaging in a coded conflict discussion. Diurnal cortisol samples were collected. Results suggested that men’s greater observed communication quality predicted women’s higher awakening cortisol levels as well as men’s steeper decreases in cortisol across the day (i.e., slopes), men’s greater reported conflict predicted women’s lower awakening levels, and, in some models, women’s greater reported resolution predicted women’s lower awakening levels and men’s steeper slopes. These findings suggest that less positive and more negative marital conflict contribute to dysfunction of the hypothalamic–pituitary–adrenal axis.
