The purpose of the study is to explore the preferred language learning styles of the undergraduate students based on their gender. In Pakistan, the traditional lecture method is commonly used at the undergraduate level which is teacher centred (Hussain, Azeem & Shakoor, 2011), not accounting for the learner and learning style differences. The difference in learning styles varies from one individual to another; thus, influencing the overall language learning process and performance (Manochehr, 2006). The present study used a mixed method approach, with Kolb’s learning style model (1986) as the basis of the theoretical framework to determine individual learning styles. The sample was selected through purposive sampling technique and comprised of 60 undergraduate students and 10 teachers who were teaching English to these students. Data was collected from the students studying English at the undergraduate level and their teachers by using survey questionnaire and semi structured interviews respectively and was analysed in the form of descriptive statistics. The findings of the study confirmed that gender differences had a direct influence on the learning style preferences of the students. Moreover, both male and female students showed a tendency for Active Experimentation (AE) style of learning, indicating that they want to be actively engaged in their own learning process, instead of merely listening to the lectures being delivered in the traditional method. In addition, although the findings indicated that the teachers were aware of the differences in the learning styles based on gender, but their teaching practices did not account for the preferred learning styles of the students. These results can be further utilized to improve the teaching and learning styles for the students at the undergraduate students.

In active learning, students engaged in several activities that can stimulate them to think and interact with the information presented, so as to create their own understanding and information through reflection. Students who are able to understand learning well will be satisfied with the learning process that occurs. Learning satisfaction can be determined by the teaching and learning process conducted by lecturers, but it can also be seen from the behavior of students in receiving learning in class. This study aims to determine the effect of active learning on student satisfaction with learning style as a moderating variable. This type of research used in quantitative explanatory research using path analysis. 73 students of accounting education courses in 2016 were examined in this study. In this study, the sample was taken by using a random sampling technique. Based on the results of the study indicate that there is a direct effect of active learning variables on student satisfaction and there is an indirect effect of active learning variables on student learning decisions through learning styles. This means that the influence of learning styles possessed by students is able to determine the amount of student learning satisfaction in class. Background and Purpose: Education at higher institutions prepares graduates for the real world. To develop and maintain quality, the focus must not only be on what institutions can offer but also on the learning needs and styles of learners. Despite many studies on engineering learners’ learning styles, limited research has been conducted to compare the learning styles of Engineering and Engineering Education learners. This study was conducted to ascertain the learning style preferences of first-year undergraduates from both groups in a science and technology-driven university in Malaysia.   Methodology: This descriptive study consisted of 40 Engineering and 40 Engineering Education learners who attended an English language course at the university. Perceptual Learning Style Preference Questionnaire was adopted as the survey instrument. The data were analysed using self-scoring sheet and Statistical Package for the Social Sciences.   Findings: While both groups chose Kinaesthetic as a major learning style preference, the Engineering Education learners also chose Group, Tactile, and Auditory learning styles as their other major preferences. Both groups chose Visual and Individual as their minor preferences.   Contributions: The findings extend research demonstrating the significant role of specific disciplines in Engineering to determine the learning style preferences of learners. 3D visualization specifically has been widely applied in a broad range of fields, including computer science, pedagogy, and so forth. 3D visualization instruction has become the essential tool that uses computer programs to generate 3D representations of manmade objects. For users, 3D visualization instruction can be manipulated, altered and efficiently communicated to others, and it is efficient for teaching and learning. The aim of this study is investigating students' perception toward 3D visualization instruction, and the influence of learning-style preferences on learners' intentions to use 3D visualization instruction. We are trying to develop the experiment which undergraduate students participated in this study, the purpose of which was to investigate the utilize 3D visualization instruction access to the single learning style and multiple learning styles. Data mining technology was employed in this study to identify multiple learning styles. The result showed that high visual and high sensing learning style has potential of using 3D visualization instruction.

Introduction: The quality of student learning depends on the approaches that are used for learning. An association exists between different learning methodologies and learning outcomes. Objective: The present study was designed to assess preferences for different learning styles among pharmacy students in Islamabad, Pakistan. Method: A descriptive cross-sectional study design was used. A self-administered pre-validated questionnaire VARK version 8.0 was distributed to 387 undergraduate students from both public and private pharmacy schools located in Islamabad and 100 graduate students selected from public sector pharmacy schools using the convenience sampling technique. After data collection, it was cleaned, coded, and analysed using SPSS version 21. Results: The results of the present study showed that the most common learning style among graduate students was Aural (Total Score = 492), followed by kinesthetic (Total Score = 467), read/write (Total Score = 351), and visual (Total Score = 290). On the other hand, the most common learning style among undergraduate students was Aural (Total score = 1926), followed by kinesthetic (Total score = 1859), read/write (Total score = 1241), and visual (Total score = 1166). Conclusion: The result of the present study concluded aural as the most preferred learning style followed by kinesthetic among both undergraduate and graduate pharmacy students. Graduate female pharmacy students showed more preference towards kinesthetic learning style as compared to graduate male students who showed more preference towards aural learning modality. However, both undergraduate and graduate male and female students preferred aural learning style. Identifying the learning style at the start of pharmacy degree can help mentors to assess the appropriate field for them after graduation. Moreover, information regarding such styles would be helpful for stakeholders to devise effective strategies for teaching and introduce changes accordingly into the curriculum.

Covid-19 is a highly contagious virus and spreads very quickly throughout the world. This has a broad impact on all segments of social life, including education. Responding to this, the Indonesian government temporarily eliminates the teaching and learning process in schools and conducts learning from home. Educators are required to be able to provide instruction to students in accordance with this situation and condition faced. Therefore, it is important for teachers to understand the learning styles of their students as an orientation for determining appropriate learning media. This study explores the learning styles of students at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 1 Semarang and discovers the most suitable learning media in accordance with the students’ learning styles. The results showed that visual learning style was the most preferred so instructional videos were found as the most appropriate teaching media.

Undergraduate level education has become more complex, due to the environments where the undergraduate students have grown, they develop several kinds of learning styles, generating heterogeneous groups. Software development teaching is very difficult because of that, specifically, it becomes complex because not everyone has the same skills. The study was developed at the Polytechnic University of Pachuca, analyzing the results in two groups of students of the Service Oriented Architecture course. It consisted in the organization and monitoring of software development projects, different techniques were implemented, such as: the software development methodology, project administration formats, learning style diagnosys, based on the application of Neurolinguistic Programming Instruments (NLP) to students of third year. The time invested by each student with respect to the total time ratio of the development team, is a key factor to be considered during project assignment and assessment. It’s shown the results of the application of differents teaching techniques during the learning process.

ABSTRACTThe method used in this research is a qualitative case study with qualitative approach. In obtaining justifiable data, researchers directly interact on the learning process and observe the implementation of learning. Data collection and data recording procedures are done through observation, interview and documentation. The validity of data used is credibility, transferability, dependability, and conformability. Data analysis used is descriptive qualitative. The purpose of this study is to describe the findings about the Learning Style used by Outstanding Street Children in PKBM Bina Insan Mandiri or often called MASTER School Depok City. Subjects in this study are one of the street students (tissue seller) with high achievers, teachers and students parents. The results showed that the Learning Style of Outstanding Street Children showed the combination of the three learning styles, but more dominantly the auditorial learning style that relies on the sense of hearing in the learning process. Such as: a. Easy to learn by listening, b. In teaching and learning activities students easily distracted if the class is not conducive, c. Students speak fluently, d. Like to tell stories, e. Fond of listening to stories, f. Glad to discuss, g. Fond of listening to music, h. Talking with rhythm. The result of the learning style of street students achievement can be known that by using auditorial learning style or relying on the sense of hearing street students achieving more understanding what is conveyed by the teacher on the learning process especially in the activities of storytelling. Based on the results of the research above it can be concluded that street students have an achievement of auditorial learning style that relies on the sense of hearing.Keywords: Learning Style of Street Children, Learning Achievement.

This article discusses the various learning styles of students in the teaching and learning process in the classroom. Among the learning style models discussed in this article are such as Dunn and Dunn learning style model, Kolb learning style model, Felder Silverman learning style model, VAK learning style model, Visual, Audio, ‘Read and Write’ and Kinesthetic (VARK) learning style model, Honey and Mumford learning style model, Selmes learning style model. Each learning style model has its strengths and weaknesses. This, a good understanding and mastery of a learning style will allow teachers to help implement teaching and learning strategies that students are interested in according to their tastes. Furthermore, it can increase the interest and effectiveness of students in the teaching and learning process as well as improve the academic achievement of students.

The discussion in line with students’ beliefs about language learning is still popular nowadays since it is believed that the student’s beliefs may influence the language learning process, such as motivation, learning style, and strategies, etc. which later ultimately affected the success of language learning. This study was conducted to investigate how students of the English program at IAIN Madura (State Islamic Institute of Madura), Indonesia, express their beliefs about English language learning. This study was implemented in terms of survey study in which the data was primarily gathered by administering the questionnaire entitled Beliefs About Language learning Inventory (BALLI) of Horwitz’s (1987). The questionnaires were administered to students of English teaching and learning program through Google form. About 144 undergraduate students in the first year have participated in this study.  The finding revealed the students’ beliefs in terms of percentage of agreements in all area of BALLI, namely language aptitude, the strategy of learning and communication, the nature of learning language, motivation and expectation in learning, and the difficulty faced by students
