Introduction: Hypertension is a degenerative disease. Those aged ?55 years are at risk for suffering from hypertension, previously blood pressure prehypertension before being diagnosed with hypertension occurred between the third and fifth decades. The World Health Organization reports as many as 839 million cases of hypertension, by 2025 this figure is expected to increase to 1.15 billion or around 29% of the world's total population, where female sufferers are more than 30% compared to male hypertension sufferers, namely 29%. One of the non-pharmacological treatments to treat hypertension is consuming cucumber. Methods: International and national literature searched through electronic media with keyword hints. Eight articles were selected, each of which represents an effectiveness of giving cucumber to reduce blood pressure and provides various information. Results: There was an effect of giving cucumber on reducing blood pressure in respondents. Discussion: One alternative that can be used to lower blood pressure is by consuming cucumber. The diuretic effect on cucumber causes the salt content in the blood to decrease. Reduced levels of salt that absorbs or retains water will reduce blood volume so that it can lighten the work of the heart in pumping blood, and eventually blood pressure will decrease. Conclusion: The conclusion based on the analysis that has been done is that cucumber is effective for lowering blood pressure.

Heme oxygenase (HO) is the rate-limiting enzyme in the metabolism of heme-releasing bioactive molecules carbon monoxide (CO), biliverdin, and iron, each with beneficial cardiovascular actions. Biliverdin is rapidly reduced to bilirubin, a potent antioxidant, by the enzyme biliverdin reductase, and iron is rapidly sequestered by ferritin in the cell. Several studies have demonstrated that HO-1 induction can attenuate the development of hypertension as well as lower blood pressure in established hypertension in both genetic and experimental models. HO-1 induction can also reduce target organ injury and can be beneficial in cardiovascular diseases, such as heart attack and stroke. Recent studies have also identified a beneficial role for HO-1 in the regulation of body weight and metabolism in diabetes and obesity. Chronic HO-1 induction lowers body weight and corrects hyperglycemia and hyperinsulinemia. Chronic HO-1 induction also modifies the phenotype of adipocytes in obesity from one of large, cytokine producing to smaller, adiponectin producing. Finally, chronic induction of HO-1 increases oxygen consumption, CO2, and heat production and activity in obese mice. This review will discuss the current understanding of the actions of the HO system to lower blood pressure and body weight and how HO or its metabolites may be ideal candidates for the development of drugs that can both reduce blood pressure and lower body weight.

Introduction: Hypertension is a condition, where someone has a blood pressure systole ≥ 140mmHg and a blood pressure diastole ≥ 90nmmHg. Hypertension is a health condition that affects 26% of people worldwide. The World Health Organization (WHO) in the "Global NCD Target Reduce Hight Blood Pressure" explained that an increase in blood pressure caused 9.4 million deaths and a major risk factor for global death . Uncontrolled hypertension results in various kinds of complications, even death in a person. Therefore, complex management of pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapies is needed to improve various organs. Walking exercise is one of the non-pharmacological methods in controlling blood pressure. The purpose of this study is to conduct a systematic review of walking exercise on hypertension patients' blood pressure. Methods: Search for articles through a database: Pro quest, Scopus, Science Direct, and EBSCO. Published between 2010 -2020. The method used in the article search is PICOT frame work. Result: There were 13 journals that were analyzed. The review results from 13 journals show that walking exercise effective in reducing blood pressure in hypertensive patients. Conclusion: Walking exercise that is done routinely can reduce blood pressure systole and diastole in hyperetnsi patients. Walking exercise can be included as one of the independent nursing interventions through health education to control blood pressure in hypertensive patients.

Hypertension is a cardiovascular disease that has been linked to a number of public health issues. This is due to unhealthy lifestyles and cellular and tissue physiological function impairment. Hydrotherapy is a non-pharmacological intervention that can lower blood pressure. As long as the patient is taking antihypertensive medications, this therapy becomes complementary. This study aims to describe the use of hydrotherapy that lowers blood pressure in hypertensive patients. The research design used is a literature review of national and international indexed journals. The databases used include ProQuest, GALE, OneSearch, RAMA, SINTA, and Google Scholar by using keywords hydrotherapy, blood pressure, and hypertension. Inclusion criteria are the range of publication years is in 2016-2020. While the exclusion criteria is when the independent variable used is a combination therapy. Based on a review of ten articles, hydrotherapy affects lowering blood pressure, therefore this therapy can be used as an adjunct therapy to lower blood pressure. This occurs because warm water dilates blood vessels, lowering blood pressure.

Hypertension in the elderly is often not realized (silent disease), this is due to the result of reduced muscle flexibility of the blood vessels which will cause thickening of the arteries and even stiffening, causing the arteries and aorta to lose their adaptive capacity and the walls of these blood vessels to become inelastic and causes the blood that leaves the heart to flow that is not smooth. Treatment for hypertension sufferers can also be done non pharmacologically or using traditional medicine, one of which can use chayote. Chayote can lower blood pressure because chayote contains potassium. Potassium is a mineral that is good for lowering or controlling blood pressure. The aim of this case study was giving chayote juice to reduce blood pressure in hypertensive elderly. This type of research is descriptive with the case study method. The subjects of this study were two hypertensive elderly patients with blood pressure more than 140 - 90 mmHg and able to communicate. The results of the case studies show that there is a change in blood pressure drop from before consuming chayote juice and after consuming chayote juice, so it is hoped that the elderly can consume chayote juice regularly.

Empaglifolzin, canagliflozin, and dapagliflozin are SGLT2 (sodium-glucose linked transporter type 2) inhibitors for treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus that also reduce blood pressure, mortality, and cardiovascular disease and slow the loss of glomerular filtration rate. SGLT2 inhibitors inhibit the coupled reabsorption of sodium and glucose from the proximal tubules, thereby increasing renal glucose and sodium excretion, but they have more widespread renal effects, including inhibition of the sodium:proton exchanger. They increase the delivery of sodium to the loop of Henle and can thereby activate the tubuloglomerular feedback response to correct glomerular hyperfiltration. There are multiple potential mechanisms whereby these drugs lower blood pressure and preserve kidney function that are the focus of this review.

Abstract Much research has shown that reduction in salt intake can have a very positive impact on human health, as salt intake plays a critical role in regulating blood pressure. According to the World Health Organization, populations with low salt intake, all other factors being equal, usually have lower blood pressure level, in that way decreasing the risk of cardiovascular disease. The main source of salt in the diet is ready-made food, and only about 11% of overall salt intake is the salt people add to their food themselves. A common EU framework for salt reduction has been developed, which describes a common vision for a general European approach towards salt reduction. Bread has been identified as an important contributor to the daily salt intake in many countries. On the other hand, salt has important technological functions in bakery products. It improves the qualities of dough, fermentation, and flavour of bread. The aim of this paper was to evaluate the amount of salt in Latvian bread and to assess the need for decreasing the amount of salt in bread. The majority of Latvian bread contains 1.1 to 1.2% salt in flour, but in some other kinds of bread it is even less.

The blood pressure (BP) threshold for hypertension has changed over time, and currently in the general adult population, the accepted cut-off is at or below 140/90 mmHg upon repeated sphygmomanometric measurements in the doctor's office (in children, the threshold is blood pressure above the 95th percentile for height and gender). When blood pressure exceeds this level, clinic management strategies are triggered to reduce blood pressure, and thus represent a simple and practical diagnostic approach for healthcare providers to initiate and monitor treatment. On the basis of this definition, there are over 1 billion people with high blood pressure worldwide and the World Health Organization suggest this will rise to 1.5 billion by 20201.

In Indonesia, hypertension is the third leading cause of death, following only stroke and tuberculosis. It is a degenerative condition in the elderly, and with growing age, nearly all feel a rise in blood pressure. Taking an infusion of rosella flowers (Hibiscus sabdariffa Linn) in the morning and evening will reduce blood pressure. Contain phytochemicals that can help lower blood pressure. This study aims to see how successfully giving rosella flower infusion (hibiscus sabdariffa linn) against hypertension in the elderly at the Matraman District Health Center. The experimental one-group pre-and post-test configuration with control was used in the analysis. The sample size was 10 people and used comparative analysis with paired t-test using computerized statistical software. The results showed that the decrease in blood pressure using the infusion of rosella flowers was smaller than the amlodipine treatment. This indicates that steeping Rosella does not have a significant effect on hypertension.
