The tourism sector is experiencing numerous challenges as a result of the global economic crisis. After a significant contraction in 2009, tourism rebounded strongly  in  2010  and  in  2011  the  international  tourist  arrivals  and  receipts  are projected to increase substantially. The Tourism industry is expected to show a sustained recovery in 2012. The crisis has particularly strong impact and slightly negative consequences in Bangladesh. The country is undergoing a political crisis, as well, and it seems that the forthcoming elections may be the only solution for the restoration of stability and social peace.  In addition, tourism can be the driving force behind Bangladesh economic recovery. However, for its achievement the country’s policy makers should take several measures towards restructuring and improving the sector. These measures include: enhancement of alternative forms of tourism; environmental protection; creation of quality infrastructure; and boost of competitiveness through a tourism product that offers value for money

Buoyancy driven flows that occur in the inter-disk space of an axial compressor spool play a major role in projecting gas turbine engine life and performance. The Rayleigh-Benard-like flow structure developed under the influence of centrifugal buoyancy creates sharp temperature gradients at the rotating walls of the compressor hardware. These sharp temperature gradients greatly influence the running stresses inside the machine and therefore affecting its life. The objective of this work is to generate a complete set of computationally-derived Nusselt number correlations that will be used in conducting the conjugate heat transfer analyses. The impact of engine power condition (Idle, Highpower, and Shutdown) on the heat transfer of these rotating cavities is studied under the wide range of operating conditions encountered by realistic turbomachines. A computational analysis is performed using commercially available computational tools for grid generation (ICEM-CFD) and turbulent-flow simulation (CFX). A total of fifty steady CFD cases for two different cavity configurations were analyzed. The CFD computed results of these cases were used to generate a complete set of Nusselt number correlations for different cavity geometry (gap ratios), flow regimes (forced and free convection dominated regimes), and operating conditions (Rossby Number Ro, Rotational Rayleigh Number RaΩ, and axial Reynolds Number Rez). The CFD computed heat-transfer results revealed that, despite the complicated flow patterns inside these cavities, and despite the large variation in their geometry, the simple Nusselt number correlations for free convection from a vertical flat plate with constant temperature can be used to predict the global Nusselt number values for the buoyancy-dominated regime of all such cavities. Furthermore, the Nusselt number correlations for the laminar and turbulent forced convection over a flat plate can be used to predict the global Nusselt number values for the central-jet dominated regime.

The modernization of machines for compaction of soil on a modular basis has the following advantages: some of their structural elements (working equipment and working elements) can be performed as unified modular units, from which, depending on the technological requirements, it is possible to assemble the required configuration of the sealing machine; the initial state of the machine does not deteriorate, to which it is easy to return; the nomenclature of structural elements and machines in general decreases, as the machine can be completed with variable modules, which leads to an improvement in their quality. When consolidating the soil massive use static, dynamic and combined action on the soil in the form of rollers, vibro-and ramboards. Machines of the boottype are classified into light, medium and heavy, which determines the order of its application. It is obvious that the reduction of technology for the process of soil compaction is possible due to the creation of machines that can change the intensity of the impact on the soil in a wide range.

Communication and information technologies have greatly influenced the changes of tourism as an activity, especially when it comes to distribution channels in tourism, achieving more accurate and closer communication with customers/tourists, easier access to information, which ultimately affected the creation of market competition with the focus on the tourist. Communication in the tourism industry is of universal importance if the goal is an adequate level of tourist satisfaction as well as competitiveness in the local and global market. Communication is not just promotional activity aimed at attracting tourists, but the totality of relationships that are realized before arrival, during staying and after the departure of tourists, and their quality determines the ratio of expected and achieved satisfaction of a service user. The aim of the research is to understand the different effects that communication (verbal and non-verbal) has in restrictive business conditions. In addition, the paper seeks to point out the practical aspects of the communication process of all participants, directly or indirectly, involved in the creation and provision of services in the tourism industry, with reference to the time of the pandemic.

The COVID-19 global pandemic has negatively impacted local tourism industries worldwide, including in Malaysia where the tourism industry contributes significantly to the country’s economic income and employment opportunities. While sector has received regulatory financial assistance to sustain their business and retain employees, more market measures are needed to promote domestic tourism as the main vehicle for filling the tourist income gap from the decline in inbound international tourist arrivals. Similar previous studies were focused on business-as-usual conditions with unrestricted international travel, however there is a research gap focusing on tourism in Malaysia under current conditions of recovery from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. The purpose of this paper is to propose a conceptual framework to investigate affordability, quality of service, health and safety compliance and access to facilities and amenities and to better understand how these factors influence domestic tourist preference of holiday destination in Malaysia during the pandemic. A sample of 384 respondents from the Federal Territories of Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya and the state of Selangor in Malaysia will be selected by using random sampling technique. Regression analysis will be conducted to assess the research hypothesis
