Any economic activity carried out by an organization, can generate a wide range of environmental implications. Particularly important, must be considered the activities that have a significant negative effect on the environment, meaning those which pollute. Being known the harmful effects of pollution on the human health, the paper presents two models of utmost importance, one of the material environment-economy interactions balance and the other of the material flows between environmental factors and socio-economic activities. The study of these models enable specific conditions that must be satisfied for the economic processes friendly coexist to the environment for long term, meaning to have a minimal impact in that the residues resulting from the economic activity of the organization to be as less harmful to the environment.

The article evaluates the influence of a wide range of socio-demographic, job and company-related characteristics on the likelihood of low earnings by applying logistic regression on a broad range of Labour Force Survey data. We evidenced that the average impact of the company-related characteristics is three times stronger than the impact of personal characteristics. We also found that working full-time considerably decreases this risk of low wages, but company-related and personal characteristics (except for the kind of company’s economic activity) have not provided a rent (benefit) from working full-time. The underlying conclusion is that reforms decreasing the size of the low-wage sector in the former transition countries should be focused on targeted employment programmes enhancing transitions to more profitable economic activities instead of possibly maintaining the unprofitable industries at all costs. Additionally, the reforms should be concentrated on introducing employment regulations to harmonise the rules of employment among all contract types, which would put the part-timers and the underemployed on a more equal footing with fulltime workers especially in terms of pension schemes and access to training.

Forecasting plays a significant role in organizing the economic activities of executive authorities using the example of customs authorities, since this is associated with the ongoing policy of optimizing customs payments administered by customs authorities, ensuring the economic security of the state, improving the quality of customs services and compliance with customs legislation. A wide range of forecasting methods allows them to be applied on the basis of assessing the feasibility of applying one method or another to forecast the main economic indicators of the activities of executive authorities. The analysis of the scientific and methodological base made it possible to form and propose a generalized algorithm for forecasting the indicators of the economic activity of executive authorities. Goal is to develop a generalized algorithm for predicting the indicators of the economic activity of executive authorities using the example of customs authorities.

The article substantiates approaches to making decisions of obligations management in the conditions of increasing the assets by types of economic activity in Ukraine. The possibility of using correlation-regression analysis to determine the most favorable variations (in relation of density) between the effective indicator (types of assets) and production factors (types of liabilities) has been proved. A method of analyzing the operating environment is applied to identify the shortest possible reduction in current and long-term liabilities and maximize the volume of current assets. It was found that (i) the most efficient type of economic activity due to the increase in current assets in Ukraine was administrative and support service activities (0.90), the least efficient – agriculture, forestry and fisheries (0.47); (ii) education and training activities (0.93) are the most effective types of economic activity due to reduce liabilities, and health and social assistance (0.44) are the least effective. The results of the study can be used in planning the sustainable development of different types of economic activity. Key words: liabilities, assets, types of economic activities, entities, profit, efficiency, Ukraine.

This study aims to analyze the development of PMDN, PMA, Exports, Imports, and Economic Growth in Jambi province and to analyze the influence of PMDN, PMA, Exports, and Imports on economic growth in Jambi province. The analysis model used is the Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL). The results showed that in the short term PMDN had a significant negative effect on economic growth. PMA has a positive and significant effect on economic growth. Exports have a significant positive effect on economic growth. In the long term, PMDN has a positive and significant effect on economic growth. PMA has a negative and significant effect on economic growth. The export variable has a positive and significant effect on economic growth. And imports have a positive but insignificant effect on economic growth. It is hoped that economic growth will continue to increase from year to year, so the government must play an important role in increasing economic activities that have existing potentials so that the people's income is high which also reduces poverty and inequality that occurs.

The paper attempts to provide rationalization for selecting economic activities qualifying for engineering (rationalist) development. The authors propose a criterion enabling to reasonably identify sectors of the national economy or groups of enterprises of the same type of economic activity (according to the Russian National Classifier of Economic Activities) to qualify for state financial backing for the purpose of coordinated development of the national economy both in the short-term and long-term perspectives. Potential of rationalist development and its dynamics by types of economic activities are assessed. Justified is the use of criterion, enabling to transit to managed economic development.

This chapter focuses on the relevance of information and communication technologies (hereinafter, ICTs) as an essential part of the day-to-day life of all societies nowadays. Nevertheless, a means that continue to be behind this reality is the penitentiary area regarding inmates' rights. Introducing ICTs within prison could improve the social reinsertion of persons serving a prison sentence. Deprivation of liberty entails normal contact with the prison subculture and the harmful effects of it, causing in cases of long-term sentences the so-called phenomenon of “prisonization.” This negative effect of imprisonment could be reduced if ICTs were used inside prisons in the different areas where they can have an impact, and which are treated in this research, as (1) access to information and culture, (2) basic and advanced training, (3) employment, (4) communication with the outside world, (5) treatment, or (6) leisure and entertainment. The value that new technologies would add to these areas in prison constitutes a way of humanization of prisons in the twenty-first century.

This study examines Agricultural Loans Determinants: Analysis from the Supply and Demand Side with the scope of Indonesia starting from 2012 to 2019. This study uses Error Correction Model (ECM) analysis as an estimation method that shows the effect of the independent variable on the dependent variable in the short term. as well as long term. The results of the study show that in the short term, the variables of CAR, NPL and Inflation have a negative effect on Commercial Bank Loans for the Agricultural Sector, while the variables of TPF, Economic Activity and Loan Interest Rates have a positive effect. On the other hand, in the long term, the variables of DPK, Economic Activity and Loan Interest Rates actually have a negative effect and it is the variables of CAR, NPL and Inflation that have a positive effect on Commercial Bank Loans for the Agricultural Sector.

Modern directions of formation of the global economic, informational and financial space define fundamentally new tasks for the formation and development of forms and methods of management of regional systems. The article is aimed at substantiating the need to transform regional management to ensure sustainable development of Ukrainian regions in the context of globalization. The article develops theoretical approaches to the interpretation of the concept of «region» and presents an author’s own definition of this concept as an open holistic system, the unity of which is secured by a number of factors (of geographical, political, social and economic nature), the elemental composition of which is characterized by a wide range of elements (including regional institutions), which as a result of constant interaction and mutual influence acquire new qualities and characteristics and cause qualitative changes in the system. The main features of the regional system include: the ability to self-reproduction; purposeful nature and dependence of its functioning and development on the composition and completeness of resource provision. The content of the concept of «globalization» is closer defined. It is proved that globalization puts forward new requirements for regional management, restrictions on modern economic development are outlined as well. Regions of Ukraine are actively involved in the processes of international and interregional integration, and the foreign economic activity of the regions has significant prospects. At that, the degree, depth of involvement of the region in the international integration process, the success of its foreign economic activity directly depend on the focus on innovative conduct of financial-economic activities, complementarity in financing, the use of the mechanism of public-private partnership. The main challenges of sustainable development of the regions of Ukraine (except for the pandemic) include: involvement of economic agents; development of engineering infrastructure; construction and renovation of housing stock; ordering land use; high-level support of employment; urgent ecological problems. Ensuring the sustainability of both regions and the State in modern conditions is possible by strengthening the horizontal links of interregional interaction. The latter expands the capabilities of regional governing bodies in terms of increasing the internal potential of the regions, creates conditions for more effective problem solving in the economic, social and political spheres. Prospects for further research in this direction are the development of theoretical principles of regional management and the development of practical recommendations for its improvement, taking into account the challenges of globalization.

Članek prinaša pregled glavnih tipov, temeljnih lastnosti in učinkov negradbenih protipoplavnih ukrepov. The article provides an overview of the main types, basic properties and effects of non-structural flood protection measures. The authors note that the use of non-structural measures stems from geographical research and that they have become increasingly important in other flood-dealing disciplines in recent decades. It turned out that structural flood protection measures alone are no longer enough for a complex modern society, which is characterized by technicalization, individualization and information technology, but on the other hand we lack knowledge of natural hazards, such as floods. Non-structural measures cover a wide range of activities, ranging from river basin management and zoning measures or the establishment of flood risk records to flood monitoring and warning, as well as awareness-raising and, last but not least, economic activities such as insurance. The challenge remains how to manage and integrate non-structural measures to contribute to flood safety in the long term – a combination of different types of measures has proven to be most effective, with some having long-term effects and others contribute to short-term effects.
