Though many organizations have turned to developing and using businessintelligence systems, not all have been successful in implementing such systems. These systemshave social-technical dimensions with many elements and are very complicated. Numerousstudies have been carried out on implementation and employment of business intelligence, butin the past studies only specific aspects and dimensions have been addressed. The aim of thisstudy is to identify key factors in the implementation process of business intelligence in theIranian banking industry. The present research is objectively applied as a survey study inimplementation strategy. Also it is a descriptive study in terms of the research plan and datacollection where two documentary and field study methods have been used for collecting data. The statistical population of this study comprises experts and professionals in informationtechnology who are active in implementing solutions for business intelligence in the bankingindustry of Iran. In this study, 16 people were chosen based on non-random judgment samplingcombined with targeted and snowball sampling as a statistical sample and their viewpointswere extracted and refined using the Fuzzy Delphi Technique. First through studying pastresearch records and reviewing literature of effective factors in implementing businessintelligence process, 37 factors were identified. Then by implementing five rounds of the FuzzyDelphi Technique, 39 factors were confirmed as significant among 37 factors affecting thebusiness intelligence implementation process in past studies and 10 factors proposed by experts. Also, these 39 factors were classified in nine main groups including organizational, human, dataquality, environmental, system ability, strategic, service quality, technical infrastructure, andmanagerial factors. Managers and executives of business intelligence projects in Iran's bankingindustry can achieve the given objectives and results by considering such significant factors inplanning and taking measures related to effective implementation of business intelligence.

Numerous researches have been carried out on implementation and employment of business intelligence, but in the past researches only specific aspects and dimensions have been studied while factors affecting implementation process and interactions between them are not widely considered. In such circumstances, it is vital to identify key factors affecting business intelligence implementation process and determine communication structures between these factors. In the present article, reviewing the related literature and obtaining experts' opinions using fuzzy Delphi techniques is first, followed by key factors affecting the process of business intelligence implementation and important criteria of effectiveness for business intelligence in the Iranian banking industry were identified, and then using a method of interpretive structural modeling, relationships between factors were determined and analyzed. Finally, the interactive structure of the factors, i.e. business intelligence implementation, a model is presented. Using confirmatory factor analysis and path analysis methods, model validation was conducted. Leading to the determination that while that transition for some companies has been attempted, not all current efforts have been successful.

Most papers in this issue deal with different sides of technological systems and managerial practices usedfor intelligence work in private organizations. Empirical data from a number of countries and companiesare gathered to illustrate how companies work and fail to work with business intelligence and competitiveintelligence in organizations. The paper by Rezaie, Mirabedini and Abtahi entitled “Identifying key effective factors on theimplementation process of business intelligence in the banking industry of Iran” identifies key effectivefactors on the implementation process of business intelligence. Thirty-nine factors were identified andclassified in nine main groups, including organizational, human, data quality, environmental, systemability, strategic, service quality, technical infrastructure, and managerial factors. The paper by Bisson and Gurpinar entitled “A Bayesian approach to developing a strategic earlywarning system for the French milk market” suggests a new strategic early warning system forcompanies and public organizations to better anticipate market changes and make more robust decisions. The paper by Al Rashdi and Nair entitled “A business intelligence framework for Sultan QaboosUniversity: A case study in the Middle East” aims to build a customized business intelligence (BI)framework for Sultan Qaboos University (SQU). A prototype is tested with good results. The paper by Søilen, Tontini, Aagerup and Andersson entitled “The perception of usefulinformation derived from Twitter: A survey of professionals” is a survey of professionals about the valueof the information or intelligence on Twitter. It shows that Twitter is perceived as a service for usefulinformation but not for the reason one may expect, not because the content of the tweets gives valuableinformation, but because of what can be derived and extracted from the information that is being tweetedand not tweeted. The paper by Calof, Richards and Santilli entitled “Insight through open intelligence” is anopinion piece that gives suggestions of how to broaden the CI field with the help of open innovation.

Purpose – The purpose of this study is to identify and rank the effective factors on customer values from the perspective of banking customers. Design/methodology/approach – This study is a practical and descriptive survey. In order to rank the factors affecting customer values, a fuzzy analytical hierarchical process has been used. The data were gathered through Delphi method and questionnaires. Findings – The results of this study indicate that the factors affecting customer values include costs, relational benefits, brand perceptions, and services quality. These factors influence customer values, respectively. The results also indicate that financial costs among costs, operational benefit among relational benefits, trust in employee behavior in customer brand perceptions, and finally confidence in service quality dimensions have the highest priority. Research limitations/implications – The proposed model and research findings will greatly help researchers and practitioners understand the factors influencing customer value using a fuzzy analytic hierarchy process (FAHP) in the banking industry. Originality/value – In this study, for the first time, factors influencing customer value are studied by using a FAHP in the banking industry. The use of this method in this study has a certain authenticity.

Abstract California is severely exposed to drought and damage due to the climate change and drought belt, which has a major impact on agriculture. So, after the drought crisis, there are various reactions from farmers. The extent of the damage caused by the socioeconomic, environment and the extent of the resistance of farmers to this crisis is manifested in a variety of ways. Recognizing the population’s resilience and the involved human groups is a tool for preventing a catastrophe-based increase in life-threatening areas in high-risk areas. Sometimes the inability to manage this phenomenon (especially under the climate change) leads to farmers’ desertification and agricultural land release, which itself indicates a low level of resilience and resilience to the crisis. The recent drought under the climate change condition in California and the severity of the damage sustained by farmers continue to be vulnerable. The present study seeks to prioritize and prioritize resilience of farmers to the crisis under the climate change. This study simulated drought condition with using PDSI value for current and future time period. In order to calculate PDSI values, the climatic parameters extracted from CMIP5 models and downscaled under the scenario of RCP 8.5. Also in order to understand the resilience of the agriculture activities under the climate change, this study was performed using statistical tests and data from the questionnaire completed in the statistical population of 320 farmers in the Tulare region in California. The findings of the research by t test showed that the average level of effective factors in increasing the resilience of farmers in the region is low. This is particularly significant in relation to the factors affecting government policies and support. So that only the mean of five variables is higher than the numerical desirability of the test and the other 15 variables do not have a suitable status for increasing the resilience of the farmers. Also, the results of the Vikor model showed that most of the impact on their resilience to drought and climate change was the development of agricultural insurance, the second important impact belongs to drought monitoring system, climate change and damage assessment, and variable of attention to knowledge is in third place of the important factor.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to find and prioritize human factors affecting entrepreneurial resilience. Design/methodology/approach The statistical population consists of prominent Iranian university professors in this field, and the statistical sample is ten of them randomly. A researcher-made questionnaire was used for data collection. After a comprehensive review of the theoretical foundations, the research model was formed with 5 main indices and 21 sub-indices. Fuzzy decision-making trial and evaluation laboratory (DEMATEL)-based (DANP) technique and MATLAB software was used for analysis. Findings Indicators of Values and Beliefs (A3) and Motivation Index (E5) as Influential Indicators and indicators of personal attributes (S1), formal and informal relationships (R2) and human capital (C4) are effective indicators of entrepreneurial resilience. In the final rankings, formal and informal relationships had the highest weight with 0.263 and the lowest with priority and motivation index with 0.080. In addition to the final rankings of the sub-indices, the indicators of first-hand experience, recognition of opportunities and consulting services were given the highest weight. Practical implications This study proposes that resilience is a real-life process and not just a list of each characteristic. All human beings have an innate ability to be resilient, but resilience is a learned and learned behavior, and the emphasis of experts is on the learning of various resilience skills. Originality/value This study contributes to the field of entrepreneurship by examining the institutional backgrounds of entrepreneurship resilience.

We examine the effect of status entrenchment on the adoption of new norm-deviant organizational practices. Identifying organizational age and status mobility as factors affecting entrenchment, we extend the middle-status conformity theory by explicating how entrenchment moderates the relationship between status and adoption. Using original data from the Japanese loan syndication market, we show that young and new-in-status banks have a lower propensity to follow status-based adoption behavior than actors entrenched in the same status positions. We discuss implication of these results for the understanding of new practice adoption and organizational status effects.
