The classifications of factors ensuring the competitiveness considered by different authors are analyzed and the most complete and best one for use is distinguished in this paper. General scientific and empirical techniques based on the systematic approach are used, methods of generalization, comparison, analysis and synthesis are applied in the investigation process. The carried out analysis makes it possible to identify six main features of «competitiveness» concept. The formula for competitiveness calculation is presented and proposals necessary for the enterprise competitiveness growth are given. Taking into account all the necessary conditions for ensuring the competitiveness formation, the definition of «company competitiveness» concept is given, as well as the main aspects of this concept are provided. It is determined that the analysis of competitive positions in the market involves, first of all, the identification of its strengths and weaknesses, as well as factors influencing the attitude of consumers to the enterprise. The essence of “factors of competitiveness” category is determined and the list of the main factors of the enterprise competitiveness is given. The classification and analysis of the factors influencing the enterprise competitiveness proposed by professor from Harvard school M. Porter are given. The classifications of factors of enterprise competitiveness by such authors as: A. Olivier, A. Diane and R. Usrse, A. A. Thompson and A. Strickland, H. M. Skudar, T. M. Kulinich and B. V. Burkina, V. Synko and R. Yu. Yemadakov are also presented. The most well-known approach in economic literature, based on the combination of all competitiveness factors into two groups is highlighted. The classification of external and internal factors proposed by V. Synko is considered in detail. It is noted that there are factors that are less determined by the enterprise and factors that are almost entirely dependent on the enterprise. As a result, it is determined that competitive advantages significantly depend on the effectiveness of competitiveness factors use, and competitiveness is a set of enterprise characteristics, but its assessment cannot be done without taking into account external factors.

One of the defining sectoral features of the catering business as a component of a national economy is its increased sensitivity to changes occurring in the economic situation, environment and business practices. It is a priori impossible to take into account the absolute majority of factors influencing the process of resource potential formation, so it is necessary to determine the set of those factors that have a direct or indirect impact on the catering business in general and resource potential in particular, as well as on the formation of their comprehensive evaluation system. The article is aimed at evaluating the impact of these factors on the resource potential of enterprises in the catering industry. The macroenvironment is analyzed as a set of external factors of indirect impact by the following indices: GDP, investment, consumer price index, household income. The dualistic nature of the impact made by external factors of indirect impact is established, whereas these factors can be both opportunities and threats to the catering industry depending on certain criteria of the international economic situation. A comprehensive analysis of the meso environment from the standpoint of dividing impact factors in two groups: the market group (number of business entities in catering industry; gross output and volume of sales of goods; price indices for goods and services) and resource group (financial results of the catering industry and services; investment volume and structure in this area; employment and labor costs; information technologies usage). The presence and hidden sources by types of resources are established. Synthesis of the impact areas of external factors on the activity of catering business entities is made based on a symbiosis of the following methods: PEST-analysis, SWOT-analysis, PESTEL-analysis. A set of evaluation areas of factors influencing the formation of the resource potential of an enterprise is created, providing for the application of the distribution criterion depending on the area of evaluating external factors of indirect impact. The general economic indicator (GDP) is suggested to be used as a distribution criterion, whose range of values will indicate the transition of a particular index to the plane of "threat" or "opportunity".

Pilgrimage centers are important elements of the spatial structure of cities and simultaneously factors influencing their transformations. The pilgrimage function of sanctuaries can lead to development of service zones around them focused mainly on serving visitors, i.e., pilgrims and tourists. They often perform functions complementary to sanctuaries. Here we present the results of studies of sanctuary service zones conducted at twenty six popular Catholic sanctuaries in Europe. In this paper, we discussed the influence of the sanctuary on city space on the macro, meso and micro scales. We proposed a definition of a sanctuary service zone, and developed a model approach to the different types: initial (slightly developed) zones, dispersed zones (integrated into the urban space, with their pilgrimage function coexisting with other urban functions), and compact zones—linear, or pilgrimage districts (with dominating pilgrimage function). The development of sanctuary service zones depends mainly on the rank of the pilgrimage center, as well as on the period in which it was founded, pilgrimage traditions, and the location of the pilgrimage center in the city. This paper is a continuation and extension of research into the impact of pilgrimage centers on city space transformations in the context of socio-cultural changes in the 20th and 21st centuries.
