We have proposed a method for constructing dynamically redefined structures for the purpose of modeling abrupt changes in biological processes. The method provides for the analysis of scenarios with a control action, which is aimed at optimizing the profit from the exploitation of biological resources. The situations are described by three differential equations, which are numerically solved on adjacent time intervals. The state of the predicate set controls the selection of dynamically overridden coefficients. We carry out comparisons of all predicates on the basis of averaged individual indicators of generations. Threshold states in the dynamics of population size are a consequence of the selection of events as special nonequilibrium states that change the regulation algorithm. Our method makes it possible to implement dangerous qualitative changes in the scenarios of biological resource management, when the stable modes of their existence are suddenly lost. For practical problems, we have algorithmically implemented computational scenarios for two different processes such as the collapse of fish stocks under expert control of the fishery and a rapid outbreak of pests. The situation of the collapse of the fish population in the scenario with control develops in two stages and is a consequence of the experts 'desire to optimize the operation with uncertainty in an expert’s assessment of a state of a fishery. To confirm the relevance of our models, comparisons are made with the graphs of the development of the two real processes, as the spontaneous population explosion and the stock crisis during optimization of the sea cod fishery.

Abstract The European Union’s deep-sea fisheries regulations (Regulation (EU) No. 2016/2336) established obligations to manage deep-sea fisheries and to protect vulnerable marine ecosystems (VMEs). The European Commission is scheduled to complete a review of the regulations in 2021, providing an opportunity for new scientific information to be incorporated into the implementation of the regulations. Here, we summarise research outputs from the EU-funded Horizon 2020 ATLAS Project and explain their relevance to the regulation of deep-sea fisheries in EU waters. ATLAS research has increased our understanding of the distribution of VMEs and their importance in terms of ecosystem functioning. ATLAS research has also highlighted the utility of molecular techniques to understand fish population structure and the potential for habitat suitability models to help incorporate climate change into decision-making. Building on these scientific advances, we provide recommendations to help increase the effectiveness of management measures to conserve deep-sea fish stocks and protect VMEs.

The pediatrician is the professional most frequently sought out for advice concerning disciplinary problems with children in the home. Behavioral psychologists have advocated the use of contingent ignoring and time-out procedures to help reduce problem behaviors; however, practicing pediatricians have found that these two procedures are often not successful. In fact, sometimes the two procedures seem to exacerbate inappropriate behavior. This paper documents the difficulties found in using the ignoring and/or time-out procedures in the home setting. Potential pitfalls in the use of ignoring, including not specifying the target behavior, not taking a baseline, inadvertently, intermittently reinforcing the inappropriate behavior, response bursts, spontaneous recovery, and not reinforcing an appropriate alternative behavior, are described. In addition, several pitfalls in the use of the time-out procedure, including selection of isolation area, inappropriate selection of time intervals, interference from others in the family, and escape attempts on the part of the child are discussed. For each potential problem a remedy is suggested.

AbstractEcosystems may experience abrupt changes such as species extinctions, reorganisations of trophic structure, or transitions from stable population dynamics to strongly irregular fluctuations. Although most of these changes have important ecological and at times economic implications, they remain notoriously difficult to detect in advance. Here, we use a Ricker-type model to simulate the transition of a hypothetical stable fisheries population either to irregular boom-bust dynamics or to overexploitation. Our aim is to infer the risk of extinction in these two scenarios by comparing changes in variance, autocorrelation, and nonlinearity between unexploited and exploited populations. We find that changes in these statistical metrics reflect the risk of extinction but depend on the type of dynamical transition. Variance and nonlinearity increase similarly in magnitude along both transitions. In contrast, autocorrelation depends strongly on the presence of underlying oscillating dynamics. We also compare our theoretical expectations to indicators measured in long-term datasets of fish stocks from the California Cooperative Oceanic Fisheries Investigation in the Eastern Pacific and from the Northeast Shelf in the Western Atlantic. Our results suggest that elevated variance and nonlinearity could be potentially used to rank exploited fish populations according to their risk of extinction.

The aim of the study was to compare the degree of coverage of the sprayed objects with the selected nozzles in the aspect of the characteristics of the sprayed object, determined by the coefficient of the position of the sprayed surfaces. Studies were conducted in two stages, in laboratory conditions, in which the first step was to determine the characteristics of the sprayed objects, and in the second there were conducted the studies of the degree of coverage. Based on the analysis of the obtained results from the first stage it was stated that the studied plants were characterised by great differentiation of morphological features having a significant influence on the parameters of their spray characteristics. Important was the fact that the use of the coefficient of the spray surfaces Wpo, determining the mutual relation of particular sprayed surfaces facilitates the selection of the most appropriate nozzles and treatment parameters in relation with the morphological features of the plant. In the second stage, concerning the studies of the degree of the coverage it was stated that the selected nozzles differed strongly in the degree of coverage of vertical and horizontal objects. Differentiated coverage for particular nozzles had a strong relationship with the coefficient of spray surfaces, except that the dual‑spray nozzles covered the vertical surfaces better compared to the single‑spray nozzles, which covered the horizontal surfaces better.

Understanding of duty as a supervisor of polling places certainly needs to be given a thorough of various materials ranging from regulations on the selection of regional heads, regulations on the supervision of regional head elections during the Covid-19 pandemic, the code of ethics and the use of the election surveillance system (SIWASLU) need to be clearly understood.  This activity is carried out in two stages, namely technical guidance phase 1 and technical guidance phase 2 starting from the preparatory stage, material briefing, practice, posttest and questionnaire filling.  The results of this activity resulted in understanding for members of the polling station supervisor (PTPS) in carrying out their responsibilities   from regulatory understanding, supervision of health protocols as supervisors, code of ethics and commitment to contribute to becoming PTPS.   PTPS commitment to be able to contribute back to become a member of the TPS election supervisor for the 2024 elections correspondents answered 28 people (47.5%) willing to return to become PTPS in the   upcoming   elections or local elections, 28 people (47.5%) answer still in doubt or maybe willing to return to become PTPS and 3 people or about (5.1%) do not want to join the PTPS for the 2024 regional elections or presidential elections.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to provide an analysis of the studies about workaround behavior in the Information Systems (IS) area, addressing its positive and negative aspects and raising the key related issues. Design/methodology/approach A systematic literature review was conducted to verify how workaround behavior has been approached in IS studies. A qualitative method was adopted and implemented in two stages: selection of articles from the time period 2007-2017 in the databases Web of Science, ScienceDirect and Scopus and analysis of the selected articles. Findings The results showed that many studies have been concerned with identifying the principal reasons for the manifestation of workaround behavior and the measures taken to reduce its impacts. Many studies from international journals examined the implementation of an ERP along with the workaround behavior. The need to expand the national studies on workaround behavior is emphasized, because the majority of the identified studies are international. Research limitations/implications The key limitation is related to the period of analysis, because only articles published since 2007 were selected. Practical implications This paper contributes to both theory and practice, bringing relevant concepts about workaround behavior, and corroborating the importance of the studies on workaround in the IS area. The literature review of the 20 articles analyzed reveals the main features in each article, such as theoretical and methodological aspects that support the research. Based on this analysis, a conceptual map was developed presenting the most relevant points about workaround behavior, where the causes, the negative and positive consequences, the types of solutions and the organizational and individual impacts are presented. Originality/value Research into workaround behavior has increased in recent years, however very few studies have been conducted in Brazil. To the best of the authors' knowledge, no articles regarding Brazil and this subject were published between 2007 and 2017. Thus, this paper seeks to redress this imbalance.

This paper expounds the meaning of urban suburbanization in a narrow sense and broad sense, and probes into the dynamic mechanism of suburbanization. The influence of the suburbanization effect of the urban outward expansion on the assembled building developers is analysed from three aspects: the selection of the target market, the positioning of the market and the assembled building development structure. Based on the Salop Circumferential City Model, two stages of game analysis are carried out for the competition of assembled building developers. The research results show that in the process of suburbanization of most cities in China at present, it still stays at the stage of circular competition. With the continuous agglomeration of large population, industry and commerce in the suburbs of cities, the circular competition pattern of developers will be transformed into plate competition pattern.

A complex or unstructured problem is based on multi criteria not on a single criterion. A contractor selection problem is a multi-criteria problem. A correct decision-making is required for selecting the appropriate contractor for a construction project. Selection of a contractor is a key decision made by clients and the process of selection a contractor has become an important issue in construction projects. Many multi-criteria techniques have been proposed and applied to such problems solution. This paper aims to propose integrated model for MCDM. The integrated model contains two stages. First stage integrates two MCDM methods are AHP and ANN to prepare a shortlist of the best alternatives. Second stage apply statistical model COP to choose the optimum alternative from the best alternatives in a shortlist. Proposed model for tendering system provides automated a decision-making process that reduces the time and manpower requirements for processing tender
