Voice over internet protocol is a communication technology in the world of computer network that can be used for sending voice or video and data transmission over Internet Protocol in real time. VoIP network can be implemented with Asterisk applications as a server to a Private Automatic Branch eXchange applied in a Graphical Network Simulator 3. In this study, VoIP communication using routing OSPF within MPLS will be calculated, the QoS value collected based on impact performance under normal condition and not normal condition (link failure) different varian bandwidth in the network. The results from the simulation show that in normal condition and not normal condition there is average delay value with routing OSPF 4 ms and routing OSPF with MPLS 5 ms, the value of jitter max which same of 6 ms using varian bandwidth from 256 kbps and 512 kbps. All of the QoS parameters, such as delay, jitter and packet loss will be compare to standard ITU-T G.114. This research can be extended with addition of another measurement or another protocol.

     NS-2 is a tool to simulate networks and events that occur per packet sequentially based on time and are widely used in the research field. NS-2 comes with NAM (Network Animator) that produces a visual representation it also supports several simulation protocols. The network can be tested end-to-end. This test includes data transmission, delay, jitter, packet-loss ratio and throughput. The Performance Analysis simulates a virtual network and tests for transport layer protocols at the same time with variable data and analyzes simulation results based on the network simulator NS-2.

Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) is a telecommunications technology that is able to pass the communication service in Internet Protocol networks so as to allow communicating between users in an IP network. However VoIP technology still has weakness in the Quality of Service (QoS). VOPI weaknesses is affected by the selection of the physical servers used. In this research, VoIP is configured on Linux operating system with Asterisk as VoIP application server and integrated on a Raspberry Pi by using wired and wireless network as the transmission medium. Because of depletion of IPv4 capacity that can be used on the network, it needs to be applied to VoIP system using the IPv6 network protocol with supports devices. The test results by using a wired transmission medium that has obtained are the average delay is 117.851 ms, jitter is 5.796 ms, packet loss is 0.38%, throughput is 962.861 kbps, 8.33% of CPU usage and 59.33% of memory usage. The analysis shows that the wired transmission media is better than the wireless transmission media and wireless-wired.

In order to reduce the average path length of the wireless sensor networks (WSNs) and save the energy, in this paper, the concept of the small world is introduced into the routing designs of WSNs. So a new small world routing protocol (SWRP) is proposed. By adding a few short cut links, which are confined to a fraction of the network diameter, we construct a small world network. Then the protocol finds paths through recurrent propagations of weak and strong links. The simulation results indicate that SWRP reduces the energy consumption effectively and the average delay of the data transmission, which leads to prolong the lifetime of both the nodes and the network.

The increasing needs and demands of diverse services by the users to be able to exchange and obtain information in real time, reliable, and flexible to be one of the problems faced by existing communication technology. WLAN on the IEEE 802.11 standard is one of the wireless technologies that can be the solution of the problem. It has a relatively small area of ??communication that is between 20-70 meters only, only able to serve up to 2007 stations, and has considerable energy consumption, causing some systems contained in the WLAN in IEEE 802.11 standard less work maximally. With these shortcomings, the WLAN on the IEEE 802.11 standard introduces a new task group called IEEE 802.11ah. IEEE 802.11ah is a new WLAN standard working on the 900 MHz frequency spectrum, a 1 kilometer communications coverage area, capable of serving 8192 stations with new AID hierarchies, has lower energy consumption and can increase throughput value by RAW mechanism. This study will make changes to the number of RAW slots in the IEEE 802.11ah to see how they affect the network performance. In this research it is found that the change of RAW slot number influence to network performance, in this case is throughput, average delay, packet delivery ratio and energy consumption.

This paper investigates the process of multi-stream data transmission from several unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) to a ground station. We can observe a mathematical model of the data transfer process at the application level of the OSI model (from flying nodes to a ground station). The Poisson – Pareto packet process is used to describe the multi-stream data traffic. The results of simulation are obtained using the network simulator NS-3. It is considered a system for emulating the process of multi-stream data transmission from UAV to a ground station. Acording to the results of studies for multi-stream data transmission it is clear that the increase of the UAV source nodes which simultaneously transmit data to a ground station needs higher requirements for Goodput.

Virtual Routing and Forwarding (VRF) is a technology that allows multiple instances of IP (Internet Protocol) routing table to co-exist within the same Router at the same time. The routing instances are independent, allowing the same or overlapping IP addresses to be used without conflict. Using VRF technology, users can virtualize a network device from a Layer 3 standpoint of creating different “Virtual Routers” in the same physical device. Internet Service Providers (ISP) often use VRF technology to create separate routing table in a single physical Router which are completely isolated one from the others. This chapter discusses about the configuration of VRF-Lite in GNS3 (Graphical Network Simulator-3) on RIP/v2, EIGRP and OSPF protocols.
